Okay I know this was meant as a minmax thing but my mind immediately went to Straw Hats Storytime and I kind of want that now. They're just all on the deck and there's Taylor reading everyone a book like a young librarian while they're all surrounded by the nice smelling trees and the sun is slowly lowering on the horizon and there's a little fire and snacks and aaaa

Honestly, I had both minmaxing and story time in mind for a couple reasons.

Besides the wholesomeness of nakama doing stuff together, we'll have to keep Luffy's attention from wandering somehow.

That does sound very wholesome.

A Taylor x Zoro x smoker love triangle
Because look at them their both big muscular and gruff. the rivalry will be epic
That's so filthy, I can't believe you would say that!
*sweats and imagines such a situation furiously*
You can't include Smoker and Zoro without also including Tashigi as an overt attempt by the fandom to make Taylor at least bisexual in every single fic ever!

I can see it starting with just Luffy who can't stand to sit down and read something for himself and one by one everyone else sort of drifts over.

One bite from a black widow is usually lethal
Fallacy.
Black widow's bite
According to National Geographic, black widows are considered the most venomous spider in North America. Their venom is reported to be 15 times stronger than a rattlesnake's, according to NCSU.

Black widows are highly poisonous; fortunately, they bite humans only when disturbed. Sewlal added, "Only the bites of the females can be regarded as a threat to human health." And contrary to popular belief, most victims do not suffer serious damage. "Bites from this spider very rarely result in death," Sewlal said. "However, individuals at risk include the very young, very old and sick."

The black widow's bite feels like a pinprick to most people, according to NCSU. Pain begins within a few minutes and spreads rapidly to other parts of the body.

"The effects of a bite by a member of this genus depend on the species, but effects can include nausea, profuse sweating, severe pain in abdomen and back, muscle aches, hypertension and paralysis of the diaphragm, which can cause difficulty in breathing," Sewlal said.

Pain may last for eight to 12 hours and the other symptoms may continue for several days, according to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Black widow antivenom is available to help minimize damage.

In 2013, there were 1,866 black widow bites reported to the American Association of Poison Control Centers, but... only 14 of these envenomations resulted in severe symptoms. None resulted in death.
(Source: Black Widows' Bad Rap: 4 Misconceptions About the Spider)

Another common misconception about black widows is the tendency of the females to consume the males after mating. The fact is that in the wild this almost never happens. That behavior is mostly limited to laboratory settings, where both spiders are kept in a cage that prevents the male from moving to another area after they mate.

...Huh...

...

Then I vote that if we need to intimidate the bastard trying to mug Nami that we start listing the various symptoms people experience when they mess with Taylor's friends.

Symptoms such as dick rot, maggots finding their way into people's eyes, being wrapped up in a cocoon... finding bugs in your lungs! The list goes on!

Taylor huffed and looked away. Nami swore one day she would do something about her friend's self-confidence issues. Or not. The issue wasn't with self-confidence. Taylor didn't lack that. What she lacked was an unbiased appreciation of her own looks. She wasn't a model by any means, but she was well-muscled and graceful in a way most women only wished they could be. With her long coat on she could have passed for a colour-blind Marine captain. She looked perfectly feminine. In the way that an Empress might be feminine while ordering a neighbouring kingdom burnt to the ground.
I like Nami's description. Taylor is plenty attractive. Scary can be attractive, after all. Powerful and intimidating can be very attractive depending on who you ask.

So, kinda late to the show here, but...

...whatever happened to Johnny and Yosaku?

Luffy had made a mistake, but he wasn't sure when or how. That was usually the case with the mistakes he made, so he didn't sweat it.

"Luffy!" came Garp's angry roar.

Luffy started running faster. A lot faster. The city flew under him as he swung from rooftops and ran like the wind if the wind was being chased by its angry grandpa.

Then, while swinging from one roof to another, he saw Nami down below, boxed in on all sides with magic walls. "Cool," he said before swinging around to land near her. "Hey Nami, you need to get to the ship now," he yelled.

Nami gave him the look which meant she wasn't happy. "Really?" she asked.

He went into his thinking pose, one finger in his nose. "Yeah."

Nami pointed to the boy before her, a tall green-haired guy with awesome teeth. "This asshole won't let me," She said.

"Oh, okay." Luffy understood what was happening, probably. So he punched the green-haired guy in the jaw and watched him crash into the ground. "Hurry up back to the ship, okay?"

"Oh, you don't need to tell me twice," Nami said. She moved over to the boy on the ground and, with a grunt of effort, lifted him over one shoulder.

"You're bringing him with you?" he asked.

"He's a robber, which means he's robbed people, which means he has money that belongs to me now," Nami explained.

Luffy didn't know much about economical things, so he nodded. "Okay."

"Luffy!"

"Fast!" Luffy said as he took off running. It was almost too late. Garp came around the corner so fast he tore into a building on the other side of the street, then he ran out as if punching through cement was totally normal which it sort of was.

"Luffy! Get back here right now!"

"No!" Luffy screamed as he took off.

"You have a great crew, Luffy, nice girls. I'm very proud. Let me show you how proud I am!"

Luffy nearly shat himself.

He stepped it up a gear, taking corners at breakneck speeds until he broke out into a huge courtyard. He almost stopped and would have if he didn't know that Garp was on his ass.

The stand was there, the place where Gol D. Roger had started the great age of piracy. "Whoa," he said as he angled towards it. That's how he ran across Taylor talking to some girl next to a big man with a cigar in his mouth. "Oh, hey Taylor," he said.

"Hello Luffy," she said. "Glad to see you're still alive. This is Tashigi by the way, and Captain Smoker."

"Oh, cool. Hey, you should get back to the ship. Nami stole a robber and we're all in trouble."

"I see," Taylor said. The new friends Taylor had made looked confused.

Taylor was nice. She was like Sabo, only a girl and with more bugs.

"Luffy, you shit for brains grandson of mine, stop right where you are!"

"Is that Vice Admiral Garp?" the big guy with the cigar said.

"Yeah. Bye," Luffy said as he ran past him. His arms shot out and up and grabbed at the top of the scaffolding for the execution stand.

"Hey!" the smoker guy said.

Then Luffy was on top of the execution stand, the whole world laid out before him. This was what the last king of the pirates had seen before he lost his head. "Awesome," he said before taking a deep breath. "I'm going to be--"

Garp's fist of love connected with the top of Luffy's head and the rest of him shot down and through the entire execution stand. For a moment everything was pain and flying pieces of wood. He landed on his butt, then rolled onto his feet and took off running again. "Run Taylor!"

"Get back here!" Garp said.

Smoker turned into smoke (cool!) and shifted after Luffy too.

Luffy couldn't help but laugh as he ran for his life and dignity.

Taylor next chapter! Let's try something.

Meta votes, pick as many as you want:
[] Tashigi joins (Not so terribly willingly, but she'll get over it)
[] Tashigi stays behind (And becomes a good little Marine lapdog, just like Contessa wants))
[] Bartolomeo Joins (and pays back his debt to Nami)
[] Bartolomeo stay behind (Nami pouts for days)
[] Garp and Smoker catches up, the journey ends here.

Author bias? Whaaa?

Also, go check out Cinnamon Bun!

I have no idea who Bartolomeo is so I'm not going to weigh in there
