What was the reason for that size? Does everybody in One Piece has dwarfism or something like that?

I think it's just that the One Piece world has giants, merpeople, longlegged and longarmed people, dwards and a bunch more.
So the genepool is pretty varied.

Theres also just flat out a race of giants that can get really fucking big.
