Also, I regard "A Gin Court" as more hilarious and amusing, other than annoyingly slow.... But oh well, I like the ships with odd layouts, Fuso, Amagi, Izumo, Lenin...
My own redesigns/abominations of Montana with 7 turrets.... *cough* But that is UAD and not Wowarships.. yeah.... Speaking of UAD, no thread for it yet here?

That's because you don't rush into a brawl in brawls if you're tryharding at a level equivalent to high typhoon or higher. You play for objective control, and force a push.
I'm not talking about running it down individually: I'm talking about competitive stacks for 70%+ or 80%+ WR.
A F2P™ Player's Microeconomic Musings on LNY Bundles
Dropped 2080 F2P™ gold on ten stages of LNY crates, and got…
The coal's from a resource crate that I forgot to clear first. Whoops.
This, plus 19k fxp and 9k coal. Not bad. Assuming that a coal value of 5:1 and a fxp value of 70:1, I gained 1800+270 gold in value from those two stages alone. Given that I was short on one of those two special signals, I'll call it "2k dubs well spent". (The premium time isn't worth talking about: save up for the 50% off when christmas rolls around, and it's ~33 gold/day, which is nearly eight times better than the base rate. Also, I have 380 days of premium right now.)
Note that I'm not talking about the LNY containers. I personally consider them useless, drop-wise. As always, Black Friday (if you can snag a heavily-discounted crate) and Christmas Megas are best.
This brings me up to 120k coal / 3.01 million fxp and down to 5k gold, I think. Not bad, considering I bought two coal commanders this winter beak, and enough steel reserve to ill-advisedly buy Napoli if necessary (it's not necessary).
Conclusion
Eh, don't bother spending. Not worth it, unless you're desperate for coal/fxp (I am, since I need to buy Napoli the expensive way, and I also need to save my coupon for steel.)
But if you do, only up to bundle 9/10: that's where the best value is IMHO. YMMV on buying the full 15: it's a dice roll how much coal you get, and my expected value calculation for marginal benefit over marginal cost is something like 3.5 coal per gold. I know a couple people who hit 4-5 coal per gold or more (and one who somehow got 10/gold, but I think he must've had a supercontainer lying around, because I don't even think that's possible based on the published drop tables), but again: gacha.
™: Yes, I've spent around ~$30 on the game over three years, mostly around Christmas, and mostly when I have +100% coupons. No, my F2P experience isn't like most, not the least because I have access to Typhoon+ Clan Battles economy, among "other things".
Thats quite random... I kept Orkan because it was under the European section, kept okt revolution as it was level 5... sold anshan as I usually don't like dds... but there are exceptions to that...
Finally got the superships, and I stink at the dds... and the cruisers, seem to do pretty well with bbs though... Dont have the credits atm to equip the hannover... Not that I need to.
Edit: cant believe I missed that 11.1 blog... What they thinking bringing the original Maya in when theres the T8 Maya? And it doesn't seem like there's too much change from the downtier either.. I'm happy with the T8 Maya. What are they thinking?
Possibly because the actual ARP Maya was modeled after the heavy cruiser Maya as she looked late in the war. With the third turret removed for more AA mounts. Which is how the T7 Maya looks. When ARP Maya was introduced, there were some grumbling about it not being accurate and just being an Atago/ARP Takao-clone. I think they wanted her to be more unique. So they might alter ARP Maya to match the new version at some point.

ARP Maya was as originally built (converted into a Fleet of Fog cruiser if you sorta know the AoBS lore and also because models are hard hence Weegee reuses them) whereas T7 Maya is the historical late war version.
Sort of like how, before the splitting of the Japanese destroyer line, the Fubuki has three hulls, and Hull C was the late war configuration that hardly anyone used, because it removed a turret for more AA guns, and Japanese AA sucks (plus Japanese destroyers tended to run with their AA turned off to avoid being spotted by planes). After the split, Fubuki was shifted around in the tiers, but was given the Hull C, while following Akatsuki is the Hull B with other improvements (since the Type III Fubuki were the Akatsuki sub-class that had enough differences to generally be considered their own class). T7 Maya is like that, but since all in its class are premium ships, WG can place them more appropriately in the tiers.
So Wargaming's creative director Sergey Burkatovsky has been fired for supporting the russian invasion of Ukraine.
Any ads featuring military equipment for WoWS and WoT has also been pulled.
This whole ordeal must be really tough. It is a Belarusian company with developer studios in Russia and most critically of all a studio in Kyiv with more than 500 employees.

I find it strange that no one has mentioned the new cv Hornet and the Doolittle bombers "feature". I've considered getting Hornet, but maybe for the future. I've always found cv- 8 a fascination subject in some aspects, and I find it cool that they've managed to do a significant nod to the historical land-based bombers as well.
Also, I found it interesting to watch Searaptor's video on the Kearsarge, because he actually found that said hybrid design was apparently part of a collaboration with Russia in 1936 to 1938 or so. Hence, we CAN blame the Russians for that design. I have tendency to label it a table top bb, as it does resemble such.

Honestly the Soviets shouldn't be blamed for creating that monstrosity; Gibbs and Cox independently drew up Project 1058.1 in response to queries by the Soviets for battleship designs; they didn't exactly ask for a battlecarrier themselves. The USNI actually wrote up a detail about her on the WoWS news site:
Anyway, I had one of my first successful victories in an Irian that I just barely survived the entire game.. As for Shimakaze... Um, yeah; I don't know how to dd and will likely remain below 40% winrate for a while... I think it might be the detection range stuff, Yuudachi I do ok with in ranked, but I think the latter has less detectability than the former...? Not by much?
As I dont cv much anyway, not sure I should even bother with Hornet; just thinking how little I play kaga... Not sure.

That depends upon the situation though in some respects.. One cant necessa4rily do that if one is the only dd in the lineup.. at least, not without vitriol and mutterings of team people.
I've done similar with the poiboat, fairly easy in ranked with certain maps, granted sometimes at expense of team... but yeah...
Far better to play Shima or Poi than say the Orkan... No smoking on that one...
I think I alluded to that... very vaguely and briefly, but I did mention that in some form...
Had ok game with shima earlier, still died, but killed one...
Also got Vermont a few weeks ago and corrected a mistake I made a while back, so comparing vermont and Yamato, Each has their own handling, but I like Vermont a bit more currently, even if its agility challenged....
I remember a match in last few days, where I basically distracted the reds to the point that they were losing by the time my ship got sunk.. And sometimes it works out that way, but its certainly not ideal or recommended.
