Winter is Coming: House Stark Quest

The Small Council
Hand of the King: Eldon Estermont, Lord of Greenstone [A Stormlord, who is related to Shireen]
Master of Coin: Wyman Manderly, Lord of White Harbour
Master of Laws: Randyll Tarly, Lord of Hornhill and Highgarden (or "Bronze" Yohn Royce, Lord of Runestone)
Master of Ships: Jason Mallister, Lord of Seaguard (or Theon Greyjoy, Lord of Pyke)
Master of Whispers: Tyene Sand (or Roose Bolton, Lord of the Dreadfort)
Master of Arms: Ser Rolland Storm [Die-Hard Stannisite]

For Hand there is zero option but the Blackfish. He's our grand-uncle, right hand man, and well-respected in both the Vale and the Riverlands (remember that he served as commander of the Bloody Gate for the past decade or so, he has friends there).

Just make him LC of the Kingsguard. We're short on candidates as is. He can still perform the duties you'd give High Marshall, that's what Kingsguards did anyway.

Yeah, I was thinking of making Brynden "Blackfish" Tully Lord commander of the Kingsguard, while the other knights are meant to be political appointments.

[X] A good king is merciful. A good king doesn't punish the innocent for the crimes of the dead. Right? Right? Ok fuck it, send Edric and Dacey out of the tent.

You mean Jon? He's already with us.

Well, he's at the Wall. But in spirit, sure, why not.

Speaking of the Wall and the Watch...I wonder if they'll be getting a round of reinforcements in the form of some of the bastards and second sons in Oberyn's force. The ones that weren't/won't be (not sure if we got around to that) ransomed, anyway.

That's nice and all, but what other positions did you have in mind?

We managed to add a council member for the armies, a 'secretary of state' of sorts, and for religious affairs in Bobby B quest. That last one probably isn't going to see as much use unless we try to blend all the religions together and center them around our dynasty again.

Edit: I think there might have been one for major civil engineering projects or something. Not sure.

I'm thinking;

Hand of the King: [Prime Minister]
Master of Coin: [Finance Minister]
Master of Laws: [Justice Minister]
Master of Ships: [Navy Minister]
Master of Whispers: [Spymaster]
Master of Arms: [Army Minister]
Grand Maester: [Head of the Archmaesters]
Master of Trade: [Trade Minister]
Lord-Commander of the Kingsguard: [Head of the Kingsguard & Commander of the City Watch]
Master of Earth: [Agriculture & Fisheries Minister]
Master of the Kingsroad: [Transport Minister]
Master of Barbarians: [Foreign Minister]
Master of the Crownlands: [Administrator for the Crownlands & the Royal Demesne]
Advisor (x8): [One for each of the constituent regions including the Iron Islands]

In this council, it is not so 'small' but it helps to dilute the power of the various members of the smaller council. The King should only need to have absolutely loyal men in the bold positions due to the sensitivity but the rest can go to non-enemies or neutrals. Even outright enemies can be given spots in the less important positions and the constituent regions will have at least one representative on the council to make their voice heard.

Why not a master of works rather than a master of the kingsroad, expand it to infrastructure as a whole?
Also maybe rename master of arms because there thats also the head of the castle guard so those jobs should be differentiated.
Also Master of Barbarians is offensive to the extreme so amybe not the best title for a diplomat.

Current tally. Right now, sending Edric out of the tent alone is winning. I only ask people reconsider their decision not to send Dacey out of the tent. All Shadowrunning aside, the implication (at least in my mind) was pretty clear- if it's chosen, Robb is sleeping with Arianne and Tyene. Keeping Dacey around isn't having her as a guard or protection, it's sleeping with her too.

And she is currently betrothed to Theon, iirc. Our brother in all but name. It'd be a pretty huge dick move to screw his fiance, possibly even giving her a bastard, before they're even married!

Don't be a dick. Let Dacey pull out of this sticky situation!

[X] Politely rebuff their advances. Send them away to consider matters. Summon Edric. Impressed with the young man's moral fiber, ask him to consider a marriage to Arianne.

[X] Well... that's all very persuasive but you're quite set on killing some Dornish. Have Dacey take these two away in chains. You'll depose Prince Doran and set up Edric when you're done with the Golden Company.
-[X] Blood claims do matter though. The other girls ought to become Septas or Silent Sisters, but one (perhaps Elia Sand) should wed him to secure his rule over Dorne.

-[X] Edric should marry Arya. She would do well in Dorne and your nieces and nephews would rule over one of the Seven Kingdoms.

What is this talk of finding a new commander of the Kingsguard? We already have one, he's called Barristan Selmy. His dismissal from the Kingsguard was an illegal order from an illegitimate pretender to the throne, so he never stopped being the commander, as far as I see it.

Hopefully this prevents any overt actions from the Dornish, its grossly OOC for Robb, and as we saw in Canon this kind of action fucked Robb over...Worst case scenario is that we draw Dacey into a trist with the others, which would be a disservice to her, Theon, and our betrothed.

This isn't canon. We will be sleeping with Dacey as well. We won't be marrying any of them. That's why we are saying get her out of the room. We have a wofl the size of a horse as protection

She's betrothed to Theon? I'm not sure if that was ever part of a winning vote. Can you point it out?

We must honor King Bob's legacy. Besides it's not like this is the first time Tyene and Arianne had a threesome together and Robb is supposed to have inherited the Tully photogenic genes, also he killed a bunch of Lannisters.

Are our options seriously either "say no" or "**** the two women?"

You sure?

No? I mean I'll never tell people what to take away from an update but I did say from the start that you can always do a write-in vote and offer a sub vote to keep your bodyguard with you.

So you intentionally left out the option to just accept without the explicit relations offered and offered the situation as Do or Die and if someone cries foul later you could defend yourself with "But you coul've always Write-inned."

We humbled the Lannisters, thrashed their army, are sending a couple to the wall, and keeping Tywin prisoner. I don't think we actually killed any Lannisters, though. Our people did kill Gregor and Lorch.

The second post spills out the voting rules of the quest. I don't feel the need to hold people's hands beyond that. If you object strongly I'm sure there's a metaphorical door you can be shown.

What the hell? Do you think Oberyn just up and raised an army all on his own, that he had no permission from Doran and the like?

Why the hell would you leave an enemy in a place of power, from which they could cause you harm at a later date?
