-[] Herbivore Hater (Malus Tier 2)
-[] Small-Short (Malus Tier 1)

The idea is a character that has to learn to get along with herbivores as they do with us. Mutual learning. Until then we can make allies with species that don't just eat plants.
Being small is something that can be possibly turned into an advantage too, so they are maluses we can work to overcome.

Navigation with stars give us our signature magic and is thematic to sailing. A leader that can guide the way.

Aquatic predator is for bonuses when working on and in the waters.

Any name preferences???

I feel like people are really getting ahead of themselves in regards to Dino Piracy. We are a Stone Age tribe with shitty short range fishing boats that can sorta go past the horizon if we push it. Our big innovation as far as ship building is concerned seems to be the use of tar.

…we've got a long ways to go, is what I'm saying.

Anyways, is a trait for being a good teacher or demagogue an option? Considering how primitive we are in general, being able to better persuade the guilds and general populace to go along with the edicts we want to pass is probably going to be useful, and one of the best ways to get that is through personal charisma and the like.

Having some skill in teaching - perhaps in teaching others how to hunt this particular type of monster - could give Dark Water an additional source of food, or potentially make our successor better prepared.

i like the short malus, its a fun thing to play with but im not too much of a fan of being a dick to people who are herbies. we should be better than them, not stoop to their level

Any suggestions to replace it with?
It was of the idea that our character responds negatively to their disdain of us. Something to mutually work past. Or phase out more with our successor I suppose.

hmmm, if its reacting negatively to racism thats not really a malus, rather a normal response. how about instead of hate we just dont understand them? like the idea of eating plants is alien to us to the point it leads us to not being good at socializing with herbies? it keeps some of the malus without turning us into a bigot like them. instead now its more focused on learning about herbivores and plants while teaching them about carnivores and meat in return.

for instance, take most of the arguments against vegetarianism, like asking where they get protein, or why do they think plants taste better. in turn, they could then use arguments against meat consumption, like environmental harm or animal cruelty

Trait- herbal ignorance - you just can't wrap your head around only eating plants and those who do so, much to your frustration.

Bumped up the Herbivore befuddlement to add loving meat to the character since it fit so well as a Trait combo. Makes an interesting character. Befuddled why noone wouldn't love eating all these carnivore dishes.

Went with Bright Fangs for that winning smile! Lol.

@DaLintyGuy this pass muster? Is the idea of the traits clear?

yeah this is good

Are we actually voting now? I thought the QM was going to pick all the traits he liked and list them all for ease of use for people who wanted to make a plan/character

Ideally, the process should go in reverse: come up with a character idea you like and work towards listing the component parts.

The problem I have with trying to make a comprehensive list is that the set is unbounded, meaning doing hundreds of entries at the least for an admittedly important but brief section of the game and still not necessarily hitting every possible character direction. Hence the free form and back and forth nature of this.

Astromancy at tier 3 means your character is one of the leaders in the field. Navigation is a little ambiguous but "charting a course" is a fitting title for a fate-weaver so probably general rather than a specialist.
Aquatic Predator I'm not sure if you mean personally, as in swimming, or professionally, on boats. I suppose it could be both given the location even if the effect isn't all that strong.
Herbal Ignorance at that level escalates to being unwilling to consider the other side's position. Not for the Evulz, obviously, but still very unhelpful.
Short is straightforward, Connoisseur means you can competently cook and keep up with snobbery.

we will shove our delicious meat down their herbivore throats and they will like it!

Well malus isn't supposed to be helpful. Just to check, we can alter Traits over time yes?

And yea, I was going for general boost dealing with water if that's okay.

And the Connoisseur thing as being a personality Trait/goal and willingness to try any source of carnivore based dish. A passion.

I can drop the Connoisseur part, and bring down Herbal Ignorance to Tier 2, what effect will that be? I just added it for the combo at the time.

Amphibious is meant to make it so that they're as good in the water as we are on land (Swimming & not restricting movement type stuff, I don't see it letting us breathe underwater). Goliath makes them bigger (& at least stronger). Head Honcho is meant to help make people/subordinates listen to what he says (might synergize with goliath a bit?). Bloodthirsty I'm thinking means he gets excited by the smell/sight of blood and/or likes to kill his food himself?
Edit: Not really sure about bloodthirsty, might try to replace it with a different malus later, open to suggestions.
Alright got rid of bloodthirsty and lowered Goliath by a level, since I couldn't think up a malus to replace bloodthristy.
