Welcome to Brighton (Mafia game)

*still has headache*

Okay, this is really inactive.

Nothing to do, but wait for Nanimami.

Additional pressure won't even help, because he hasn't been on since.

What'cha wanna know?

I'd do a joke roleclaim here, but I'm a bit scared you'd actually believe me, so let's not.

Nobody else put a vote on Nani. There are 6 votes on him now which is the safety threshold for this amount of players.

Well I uh...huh. I never really expected it to get to safety threshold so fast. It was mostly a joke vote.
Well either way since we're here might as well get your impressions/guesses on game setup or etc.
Think we got another mafia game with a twist going? A more vanilla-ish mafia game?
I dunno, it's Day 1 and not much info to really go on and as you say roleclaims on D1 is not ideal.
I'm kinda stumped what to ask really at this point.

I mean, the obvious here is standard mafia group and however many neutrals.
How many of these neutrals are actually neutral and how many are anti-everyone is kinda fiddly.

We're probably not running a very vanilla game, as well, but that's not exactly a difficult prediction for this site.

/shrug

Ah, as show of good faith. Sorry don't think you're really suss. Granted, nobody is really suss at this point.

Like, seriously, remember where asking people about their PMs took us before?
In what situation would I answer that?

And you would answer it in the situation where you don't want to look like you're ignorant of what Town's name is, so come on. Name me a song.

I warned you; I'm not answering that shit, just like you shouldn't be asking it.
Have a policy lynch.

You asked it yourself. What else could we put pressure on someone for D1?

I'll say this. Nanimani just leaped up from 'random D1 lynch vote' to 'sus' in my books. Every single Town member (that isn't a child) should be able to look at their PM and immediately recognize what I was going at with my question. That Nanimani doesn't answer can only indicate that they don't. My question was basically the equivalent of "can you tell us Town's IC name", and Nanimani's response is him saying that he either can't or isn't willing to play ball with normal Town tactics.

"Normal Town tactics"

I'm actually legitimately angry now. Thanks for that.
You know how people don't like vertifiable randomness?
You see how you're asking for vertifiable PM information?

For fuck's sake!

Bad attempt at deflection.

Verifiable randomness removes information from Town's ability to scrutinize someone. Common PM info gives Town more information to work off of instead.

Oh my fucking shit I can't even.

Hey.
Hey, remember when people got so irritated at this shit that they posted the town and maf's factions in the OP?
You think there might be a fucking reason behind it?

Have to say I am actually on the side of TPK here. While I do disagree with it being plainly obvious as without going back to figure out what he meant by song I wouldn't've noticed what he meant, and that in conjunction that I wouldn't say everyone would immediately know what he was going after. The case against Nanimani actually has some weight to it now instead of my first rando-vote.

This method of inquiry is one of towns only tools day 1 and we have no direct statement indicating that it is a tool that would be ineffective even though I'd prefer if it wasn't one in general practice.

This shit isn't right. You might be Town, but I remember my first game, and when Terrabrand asked me, I gave it, and the only reason I wasn't modkilled was because I was new. I'll join this policy lynch, because this behavior isn't alright.

It still is shitty and will get people modkilled. First day isn't for pinpointing scum, it's for analysis of posts to see habits and such. Lynches are typically either policy, fuckups, or randos. This is a firm policy lynch for me.

Do you not remember this shit in the discord?

Jumping on someone because they volunteered information that didn't match isn't an issue, it's questioning people for info on the rolecard that I have a problem with

I believe in attacking behaviour, not leading an attack with 'Tell us your fluff'

Remember this shit from Crystal's game?

"Hmm. It could be an easy guess, but let me throw you a bone. Nobody answer for him. What, soldier, is your duty to? Based on the structure of my role PM, *you should have a very specific answer for me.*" ~Terrabrand

Actually, no. You should remember that, because your Jojo game was made to discourage fluff lynching.

My last game (the previous game from this one) had a well-designed way to break up Town and discourage fluff lynching.

There were two doctors and a motivator, but they were designed so that if you based your lynch on the fluff I told you to ignore, then town would lynch them.

So why are you on it now?
Did you fucking forget?

*Asks for information in PM*
"We wouldn't immediately know what you're going after, we'd have to figure it out."

I am literally shaking with rage right now.

Yeahhhhhh this right here is harkening back to the era of digging up people's direct PM info in every way possible without outright quoting it.

Perhaps it's not straight paranoia, but I don't think it's good for the spirit of the game. Reason enough to return to the old vote.
