Welcome to Brighton (Mafia game)

To clarify: "faster" = "less lynches". Everyone agrees that cult probably has far less members than town, right?

Put another way: tell me who to kill tonight, and town effectively gets a double-lynch today. Just as no lynch helps mafia, double-lynch helps town, yes?

See, that's the thing... You claim to want to survive, but your ability is about killing someone instead of self-defense? That is what smell to me.

Hum...

Question for ya, cat. Can you separate your claims of the factions into things you have been told, and conclusions you've come to based on this information? We've got multiple perspectives, after all. We might come to different conclusions.

Right, thanks, I sometimes forget.

So, obviously I was told about my kill ability. Our GM isn't the type to leave that to mere hints, otherwise we'd have people falsely believing they were vanilla. I was also told my kill flavor, and that if someone investigates me they'll see their enemy, although the flavor suggested this only applies to town.

I was told of the other factions (and, of course, my own).

I was given strong hints as to the faction wincons - I don't think I can summarize them without presenting the conclusion I came to. In other words, my conclusion is the summary there. (I'm not going to quote or not-technically-quote-but-effectively-quote, et cetera, my PM and if anyone presses me to do so, I may ask for a modkill because that [expeletive] needs to stop already.) We all know standard town & mafia wincons; these hints confirmed they are in play here.

And I was told my own wincon, as well as fluff of no mechanical relevance. (People trying to engage with the fluff tend to get lynched for it, it seems.)

Now for my speculation.

As I said, the 7/3/2/2/1 split is just my hunch.

I was not told for certain that I know all of the factions, but it seems fairly likely that there are no others.

It is my suspicion, given the phrasing of how I was told about the investigation bit, that only town has an investigator (which makes that bit only relevant to town) - but that town has at least 1 investigator. This jives with non-town factions having small numbers of members.

I also suspect, given certain phrasing in my PM, that the wizards and the hunters might each collectively possess a 1-shot night kill like I do, and thus were set up to rely on lynching (or random cult or town night kills) to get the second member of their opposing faction. I suspect that neither side attempted to use it N1.

I also suspect that the cult, wizards, and hunters have been told the identities of their fellow members, because this the usual way of things.

...so, something that's been bugging me. Where did "bus driver" come from? I just searched the thread prior to this comment, and I haven't seen any prior reference.

TMR tried teleporting in his lynch scene which sounds like something similar to a bus driver's power.

Bus driver's a transporter. The kinda guy that swaps two people so night powers that target one hit the other. That's what Mega's proposing he could do.

Ahh, alright. I thought Mega was saying "bus driver" was TMR's actual job title. Thanks.

Must be Transporter type role.

While I don't hugely doubt your information, no one is going to claim last wizard, or the hunters since then they could potentially get killed easier...

While it's possible, it could just be flair. Also, nani, this has been on my mind and I know it's off topic but did you manage to pull FV!Robin? I put over 100 orbs in and didn't get her.

Wait, that's a question for the discord. God I'm tired.

Hello all, glad to be here! @TPK you may begin your hunt to lunch me for being a replacement at your leisure. :V I'm catching up right now and probably won't be active until tomorrow cause I'm off to be soon.

I'm bothered with this. Since when does a role get to know so much about others?

Honestly, this is the part that sounds faker than the miller claim. If he hadn't claimed the killing ability and was "just" a survivor with knowing the basis of the game, who was balanced by being a miller, I could almost believe it. It'd be a bit too strong in my opinion but it would be believable.

The role as it has been stated just sounds too strong with the miller bit being an excuse though.

What would be utterly hilarious would be if the Traditional Wizard role was the only Survivor. I was thinking that initially until the bombshell of WCat.

If we kill the WingedCat today, then we can know if they were telling the truth!

But I still really want a shadow shinobi roleclaim or actual information, since they have basically just been like "I dunno how to defend myself" which is basically saying "I am scum, otherwise I could defend myself"

Heck, should have just said "I am vanilla town. Can't confirm it, but feel free to kill me if you don't want to kill someone else"

As for Megaolix, Hunters might want WingedCat dead too as Torch Bearer might not be completely neutral. If there are like 5 roles and WingedCat is mostly honest, then there are also gonna be other hidden things.

Or maybe there are 6 roles, where there is an Executioner independent who wants the Torch Bearer's Torch for themselves...
Megaolix wants WingedCat dead, so let's get more info from him.
[X] Megaolix

And the biggest issue I have about this talk of hunters is that I hardly believe the idea of a game with 5 neutrals that don't care about the usual town/scum conflict aside from getting killed and can win with either. Like, what? If they would need to eliminate each other, then this goal should give them kill abilities. We certainly got a lack of killing and don,t get me started on it working only on the other faction. What would be the point of a game within the game?

So, yeah. Winged speaks bullshit to me. Now, I wonder if he's speaking scum bullshit of if he's that other wizard.
