Proper tally has points we can spend on upgrades. I'm on mobile, and the mobile script isn't available though.

Someone pick it up from the vote tally program sticky?

Its that time again!

Roll me three Willpower rolls, those are d20+12.

Not the most important of rolls, but lets get back into the swing of things eh?
I'm off college for Easter break, so I'm going to try and make up for the halving of the update speed over the last month.

Rolling.

Edit: Damn.
Lowest in a while :p
ROLLING!

so, you wanted three d 20 rolls or one d20 roll and 2 d12 rolls?
Be glad I saw that before you rolled again, or you would have to take the one.
Rollin

Edit: And he hits!

It did cost the majority of your reserves however, leaving you feeling tired and hungry.
Sammy gave you her phone again, and it is about 5pm.
-------------------------

You check if Sam wants you to bring her up food, "Nah, I'll grab something if I'm hungry when I wake up, thanks though", before going down for dinner.

A little early, you have to wait a bit before it is actually served, but you spend the time chatting with a few of the other girls in the dorm. None that you have seen before, but if you are going to be living here, then you should probably get to know the people, no?

Kongou-san and her posse seemed nice, matching your expectation of what the students of Tokiwadai would be like. Lady-like, but still approachable, even if she was a little… over the top.
You nearly got hit with the fan she was waving about a couple of times, before you separated for dinner. Good conversationalist though.

The food is quite good, but you are somewhat distracted for a couple of reasons, mostly keeping an eye out for Julia who is a no show, though you thought your 'Saved' dimensions were pinged at some-point, though it was just for a moment. She must have walked past the door or something. Somewhat disappointing, you wonder if maybe she is avoiding you? She did seem like she didn't want to talk to you.

Your other distraction is the fact that you have logged into the private server that acts as a backup for your camera's memory, looking over the numerous pictures that you have taken since acquiring your new toy. You tag a few of the better shots, considering getting them printed out at some point in the future.

As you are finishing your meal, your phone beeps its text alert out, slightly startling you.

It's Techie.

He managed an actual AI with his power?!
Thats amazing! Last time I was looking into the field there were reckoning it would be decades before they could pull it off.
You might be right with the Black Box idea, if no-one knows whats in the box he might be able to shift probability to make sure the right responses are there. Would put a hard cap on the lifespan tho, since there would be a limited amount of space, and if he is using programming then it would have to be something he was able to make, since he would know whats in there, or at least that he did it.
You mind sending me what you have on his power and the AI? I can try and give a tech point of view on the thing to help with your report. Detective assistant Techie!
Congrats on both the Journalism thing and getting into ToWa too btw! Good to know I won't be pulling a Sam and vanishing on ya :p
I kid, I kid.
Trip is going well so far, the heat is kinda making me wish I had Sam's powers tho

What do?
[ ] Send her all the things. (You will continue to send her any additional info you find if you take this one)
[ ] Send her some of the things.
-[ ] Which things?
[ ] None of the things!

That done, you check the time. 5:32PM, about an hour since you and Sam got back.

+15EP

Hmmm. Maybe check the shops opening times first? With the amount of power you were throwing around earlier, seriously, the Kagari Express is damn tiring when you have a passenger, you might not be able to pull your normal Topology nonsense to turn the route into a roller coaster.

Oh! Best drop Sam's phone back up too if you are heading out.

Willpower: 17 +12 = 29 -> -19EP Cost Modifier
Wooooo!

The pavement ramps up into a steep incline and you bleed off excess speed, before it evens out as the wheels slip back into your shoes elegantly as the automatic doors of City's Life open for you.

You may be acting slightly irresponsible with that last shift, but you did ration out your remaining stamina over the trip to the electronics store, ensuring that you don't risk repeating last night's exhaustion due to overuse of your power. It was a good workout of your non-powered free running too.

Okay, mostly non-powered, busy streets suck. Still only took half an hour though.

EP: 16/72/81

Walking inside, you nod to the clerk that sold you the camera the last time, before heading to the media department, slipping past a couple of older students to access one of the glowing screens.

「Welcome to City Life's Media Department」

A couple taps calls up the drone once more, along with the other drones that this place sells.
Neka is what you are here for though, and seems to be the most well reviewed.

The Neka, a top of the range military spec drone that hovers and records, using quality that is closer to giga-pixels than mega's. It has multiple vision modes, up to and including the electromagnetic spectrum, and is virtually indestructible without a concentrated effort, and is EMP-Proof. A set of goggles can share its view to the user. A very basic VI controls the drone, and it is extremely responsive to verbal commands from the registered user. The price is listed as 'On request', and there are 2 units in stock. There is apparently one available for testing purposes.

There we go. Neka-Systems. You make a note to include the description in the report to Technopaths Monthly.

You can't see an option to test it on the screen, so you approach the counter, the clerk that served you yesterday luckily being there.

"Hey again little miss, there a problem with your camera?" He nods his head at the HaK1 hanging around your neck. Come to think of it, you need to remember to put it on charge tonight, maybe try out the solar charger if it's not too dark by the time you get back?

Turning your attention back to the clerk you shake your head. "No, it has been working wonderfully, I was actually looking over the pictures so far earlier and thinking about framing some."

"That's great to hear, always good to know people are happy with their purchases." Huh, he seems genuine. Rare for a clerk.

"So, what do you need miss?"

"I was wondering if I could try out the test drone you have? The Neka?"

He looks a little surprised, before smiling again. "Sure, always looking for an excuse to play with that thing." Calling another memebr of staff over, he quickly explains that he's taking you to test one of the drones.

The girl he called over gives him a long suffering look. "It really isn't fair that they always ask you Lute?" She does that the till as he laughs though, leading you towards an employee only door.

"To the backlot of flying drones young miss!"

You follow him to the backlot of the store, where he asks you to wait while he grabs the actual drone.

Looking around as you wait, you can see this is a second street, a smaller mirror of the one out front. It must be where deliveries and the like come in. There are a couple of people about, probably workers from the other shops on the same street as City's Life.

Thunk

That is a big case. Black metal, a meter wide and at least half tha- 60.34cm tall. The clerk, Lute, is panting a little as he grins at you before starting to undo the lock on the side.

"The box is way heavier than the drone, but it does have everything else in there too I guess."

The top opens, and you get your first view of the Neka that isn't a picture on a screen.

Set into the dark foam, it is a orb slightly smaller than your head, plates of smooth black steel making up the spherical but vaguely blocky 'shell' that houses a sizable lense.

A low hum emits from the device as a soft blue shimmers at the edge of the 'eye', before it slowly rises up from the case, stopping just in front of your face.

"Impressive eh?" Lute is holding a small controller, holding up a set of military looking goggles.

"You can control it with this thing," he waves what looks like a console control, "But the voice commands are much more accurate."

He hands you the headset which you slip the headset on, it basically being a more rouged set of snowboarding googles, and slip in the earphone on the left.

"Right, ready... Kagari was it?"

You nod and he clicks a button, a set of words appear on the slightly tinted see-through glass.

-User: [Trial], Accepted-
-Interface Link, Online-

A blink later a heads up display boots up, a battery indicator, a blank box in the top right, and a roadmap with two markers that overlap. 'Trial' and 'Neka-9' are the name tags and they are exactly where you imagine you would be on a map. GPS positioning?
The words start scrolling past rapidly, looking like computer code as they flow through the designated text area of the HUD.

-Repulsion Core... Ready-
-Sync Link Established-
-VI.NEKA Active-
-AeroEnergyGen.87 , Running-

Before settling on one, the various aspects of the HUD flashing a confirming green from fading back to apparently company standard blue.

-Active-

The Neka is a spherical drone, slightly smaller than your head and with one large lense set two inches into the 'face' side of the body. It has a shell of a lightweight metal polymer, making it incredibly light and durable.

Faint lines between the 'plates' of it's shell light up with a soft blue as it floats up out of the case, a distance tracker marking on the HUD of the goggles. The plating shifts a little with a soft motorized hum.

"Umm."

"Oh, right, sorry. Tell it to 'share sight', and see how it responds to basic instructions." He sounds a little sheepish.

"Neka, share sight?" The blank box flickers for a second, before the image of you own face fills it.

-Sight Share Online-

"Hwa!" You ignore his laugh at your suprise, taking in the incredibly high quality image. If it wasn't for the face that Dimension Reader isn't feeding you information, you would have sworn it was real. Hmm, the goggles don't actually look that bad. Not, you know, good. But not that bad.

"Umm, Neka, turn to Lute?"

-This is Lute?-

It twirls in the air smoothly, looking at the clerks face.

"Yes, thank you Neka."

-Target Designated: Lute-

And in the video it is transmitting you, there is now a name box hovering near Lute.

"Always a little disconcerting to have her focused at you. Luckily, I have this!" A flick of his thumb on the control pad sends the shared sight box swishing to the left as it takes off into the sky.

"This is amazing!" You have seen the City from fairly high up before, but the way the camera angle is changing as you move your head, no ground beneath you is awesome.

"The head tracking is pretty good." He seems to be watching the same view as you, on a phone.

You spend awhile trying out the different vision modes, the drone having all the ones your camera has and a couple more, including a type of electromagnetic vision that Electromaster type Espers such as Misaka-san can use.

The drone responds intelligently to voice commands, being beyond the security drones that the City uses in terms of 'intellect', and using the control actually feels a little clunky in comparison. Especially when you expand the shared sight to cover your own, letting it function as FPV headset for the Neka.

Letting it roam for a bit, it seemed to establish a pattern of slowly circling your shoulders, looking in the same direction as you do, capturing everything consistently in case you want the footage later. It seems like it would completely replace any need for a camera man for a reporter. Hell, with the onboard audio suite, you might be able to replace a reporter's physical presence.

Lute takes a moment to explain what you actually get if you buy the Neka.

The drone itself, the headset/goggles which could function as a screen for anything you could sync them with, programs to let it be controlled by and show it's vision on nearly any device, (both your phone and camera count), a charging station for if it ever managed to drain the battery (something that is apparently very hard with the on-board generator) and a year's guarantee. Also the heavy box and free delivery.

Lute's idea of using the full screen function to live in 3rd person is a little weird, but definitely possible, and has some interesting applications for your powers. You consider trying to convince Amelia to get you one under the cover of 'Esper Research', but the price tag pretty much kills that idea without a really good argument.

3500 Credits is not a cheap price tag.

"That's... that's a lot of credits." You are a little taken back at the cost, even if it does kind of make sense.

"Self powering surveillance drone with a smart VI, they do tend to cost a lot." He smiles a little woefully.

"Why do you think I don't have one? Tell you what, there's about twenty minutes left until closing time. I'm probably going to need to help close up, but you can play with Neka here for another little bit while I handle that, kay? Do whatever tests you need to do for your report thing, Miss Reporter." That said, Lute heads back inside with a grin.

You would wonder why he wasn't worried abut you running off with the drone, but with the amount of tech in the thing, it has to have a tracker.

So you slip the goggles back on, putting the controller in the box.

"Neka, full sight, then head up above the buildings ."

-Yes Sir-

Your vision flickers, before the drones vision replaces your own, the HUD overlaying itself on the new point of view, time, speed and elevation at the corner of your vision.

"Remove acceleration limit, increase elevation until you can see Tokiwadai dorms."

The view is kind of breath taking, and you grip the box as the vision versus your body disorientates you, the speed the drone is soaring at comparable to the Kagari Express on turbo.

It's a good thing you synced your camera to it first. "Snap a picture of the dorm, save to device 3."

-Image Saved and Transferred-

Hmm. Wonder if the Railgun makes enough of an effect to see? "Switch to EM vision mode."

The view flickers, before the magnetic pulses wash over your shared sight. Huh. Maybe that's her? There is a little sort of... bend, around where you think her room should be. Hard to tell at this distance, thought the 4K resolution isn't hurt for the zoom.

You are tempted to use the drone to check on Sam, but that would probably eat up all of the time you have left to play with the drone.

Maybe send it towards the docks instead? There are some interesting pulses of magnetism coming from there, maybe another Electromaster is testing their abilities?

Or just have a look around the shopping district, give the VI a good test run on high speed moves with a simulated car chase?

What do?
[ ] Check on Sam.
[ ] Magnetic interference! Good thing this drone is EMP proof.
[ ] Shopping district. (Random encounter)
[ ] Something else?
-[ ] What else?

Hmm. We are in the same dorm as Misaka and Kuroko right? The one outside the Garden of Education. Because according to Episode 19 of Railgun Kongou lives in the other dorm, the one inside the Garden, along with her two friends.
