If this is ever out of date, or you want an explanation/trivia added here, let me know, I'll fix/add it.

Notes:
  1. Do not take this quest too seriously.
  2. Points are used for many things, you can buy hints, you can use them to upgrade you or your minions/servants abilities, and can even let you not die when you are killed, if you have enough.
  3. Points are earned by: Finding information, unlocking traits, defeating opponents, and doing tallies for me because screw tallies. Also possible through good write-ins, omakes or doing something particularly funny/impressive. You will also earn a point per snip/segment for now.
  4. You can take any path you want, you can try and wipe out the dark side of Academy City, you can go hunting for conspiracies, become a human god, you can become a member of the Academy City leadership, if that floats your boat. Do what you want. Write-in is always an option.
  5. The canon of Raildex is being used as a guideline, not the law, you will notice quite a few changes as we set out, best to think of it as the general terms being correct, but locations, mechanics, and even some characters will be slightly modified.
  6. The QM (Me) lives in a GMT+0 Time Zone, so any comments on 'tomorrow' and such will be relevant to that time zone.
  7. If you roll more than once for a roll, as in multiples of the same title (2 perception rolls) none of them will be counted.

Appearance:

Strength: 8

Endurance: 7
Perception: 11
Willpower: 12
Luck: 43 [Kismet's Favor] 0 Grace

HP: 18/18
EP:

Abilities

Esper
Topology manipulation Level 3 [Personal Reality]
Changing the properties of space, distances and shapes, Vista Style.
This is your primary power, your Personal Reality, the expression of your Self.
The source and basis for all others.

Dimension Reader [Added perception from Topology Manipulation]
Dimensions and proportions are a key part of your ability, and so you can discern them with a glance.
- Living [Lvl. 1] Living things are different in that they are active, that difference is highlighted when you know how to look. Living things find it much harder to hide from you when you can read the minutely changing dimensions. +2 to Perception for living organisms, and passive awareness of them.
- Living [Lvl. 2] I know that number! This upgrade allows you to 'save' a number of people's dimensions so that when they enter your range they are immediately identified. There is a limit on how many people you can have saved, and after a week or undergoing physical change they will no longer be identifiable using this ability. This ability also makes it a lot easier to separate friend from foe when it comes to fights.
- Awareness [Lvl. 0] Increased chance to dodge/block attacks that you can see coming. A fragile disposition and excellent perception has left you the realization that maybe one should be used to cover for the other. Can only be increased through combat experience.

And the Kitchen Sink [Pocket Dimension] [CURRENTLY LOCKED]
An unholy amount of practice has resulted in a very specific application of nonsense. You can increase the carrying capacity of your pockets/bag by up to 20 times, gravity is somewhat distorted so this can be rather useful. This ability requires an Investment while active. (It will spend from your capacity rather than the pool, not regen' ing until you have dropped the effect.)

Sure Footing [Movement Protection]
The angles and differences in height of your footing are evened out by your power, eliminating dangers of the vast majority of terrain. This ability requires an Investment while active. 9EP Investment.

Impact Dilution [Damage Reduction] [Lvl. 2] The ability to stretch and spread a physical blow over your body, diluting the power to reduce the damage taken. A passive power, chance of triggering increases per level.
15% chance to activate, and reduces physical damage by half.
[Frequency] Path, Level 1 - This Path increases the frequency to take effect by 5% per Level, in exchange for not decreasing the damage further, eventually forming a cloak of defensive distortions that will decrease all physical trauma's effect. Active
[Dampening] Path, Level 0 - This Path increase the amount of Damage that is negated by Impact Dilution by 5% per Level, eventually dispersing damage into the air to fully deny it's potential to harm Kagari.

Skills

Skating: Good Focused on using the concealable skates you have, but you could easily learn to use more heavy duty ones.

Parkour : Average Good at it, but reliant on your powers for anything more advanced than hopping a wall.

Fencing: Hobbyist It is mostly a hobby, but your interest has increased lately.

Photography: Average You've never really been a picture kinda person, but you seem to have some talent at it.

Part 1
Part 1

Welcome to a Quest based in the Raildex universe.
Be advised that canon has been bribed into looking the other way while I have my wicked way with it's universe.
---
You control a student in Academy City, and let me tell you, there has been some weird crap going on.

You can either be an Esper, or a Magician.

A Magician is a person who is trained to use magic, and wields a large variety of abilities when compared to an Esper, even if most specialize to some degree
As a Mage you would wield a larger amount of powers such as alchemy, astronomy, and summoning, and be able to pick and choose per situation, as well as being able to develop new abilities with effort. This comes with higher risks when stretching your limits compared to an Esper.
As a Magic user, accessing your abilities is harder than for an Esper, and can require tools for more advanced workings. You are also part of a hidden society, with all that entails.
-Mechanical Terms: Nearly any ability can be yours if you work at it, they all pull from the same pool of energy, and you will start with a list of spells and general magic, which can be used for a lot of things. It will be easy to learn new spells and increase old ones. Various tools will help greatly in wielding your power.
If you take Magician, you also choose a [Fake] Esper ability when the specifics of your magic are chosen.

Espers can only have one type of Esper power but tend to be more powerful than a given Magician in that area, for example: Misaka Mikoto is an Electromaster and is in control of all electrical phenomena. For instance an Esper who has an ability to specifically control fire cannot control water. In contrast to Magicians, Esper powers need no preparation or elaborate rituals to create some sort of phenomenon or effect in reality. An Esper having more than one ability has been concluded as a theoretical impossibility, though this does not stop researchers from putting the theory to the test. According to researchers, Esper's brains cannot handle too many abilities. If an Esper attempts to learn magic, it will kill them by overloading their bodies.
-Mechanical Terms: Semi-random, single-type wide applicable power, with a larger mana pool than a Mage. You will not be able to gain new abilities, only increase the scale and broadness of your starting one. Level will be decided by points placed into the various aspects of it, with a beginning Cap. (This can be altered by use of Backgrounds)

Or you can play as a normal, baseline Human. Not sure why you would do this, but may as well give you the option eh?
Of course, there are things you can discover should you play this card right, but I'm hardly going to tell you them, am I?
Yes, every line of the human option description ends with a question... or does it?
-Mechanical Terms: You start with no abilities, and a completely clear body. You can attempt to find someone to teach you magic, but you will be far worse at it than the Magician starting Class. You could try and get into the Power Curriculum Program and become an Esper.
A few special questlines not available to the other two classes are available.

Now, lets fill in your student file shall we? Don't want to be setting off warning flags just yet… Or maybe you do? What would I know?

You can choose Esper, and get some form of Anti-Magic, but nothing as bullshit as Touma.
In addition, most of the people you will be against will realize that just stabbing/shooting the Anti-magic user is very effective.
Question, can it be assumed that we are faking an esper ability with magic if we are attending a school?

Aye, I should have clarified. EDIT: In fact, I have, added to the first post.

If you take Magician, you also choose a [Fake] Esper ability, to cover for the fact that magicians are sneaky peoples.

If you look at the linked Google doc, you can see the sort of option that will pop up in the next 2 snips about specialties and [Fake] Esper powers

Good to know, obviously we'd make it something unimpressive enough to avoid notice but still good enough to act as an excuse in the event someone finds evidence of some of our magical activities.

Aye, and this will be repeated if/when it comes up, the Level it ends up being considered will also influence how much cash you have available from the Academy as an allowance.

So if I had to guess which would be best a level 2 or 3 would be best although a level 4 is an option but would be pushing it.

I have a system!?
Why did no-one tell me?
These :
  1. ...
  2. Points are used for many things, you can buy hints, you can use them to upgrade you or your minions/servants abilities, and can even let you not die when you are killed if you have enough.

  4. ...
The sandbox is a bit :V though.

Ah, that system, I robbed it off Zen [MagAd Quest] and modified it a bit.

Question. Can we be a Cyborg?
To what extent? And you would have to work to become one, not just use it as a background. Human would be the best choice for it.

I wonder if you can magick yourself into being a vampire. :/
