Turn 1 Old World News

Bretonnia:
Tragedy In Montfort: The beloved Duke Abraham Folcard died to Orcish raids from the Massif Orcal, leaving his son, the simple-but-virtuous Philip August Folcard to take the realms of leadership. He has already proved his 4 years as a squire under the Knights Unbound have done him credit, having slain the bestial orcs that killed his father, taken a wife, and secured his line.

Imperial:
The Chains Of Command: Adolf Von Krieglitz of Stirland has announced the innocence of his son in all accusations of Criminal Ineptitude after the accuser, one Marshal Von Drost, was unfortunately killed in a mugging.

Kislev:
Tzarina Rising: Tzarina Katherina Dragoslav, daughter of Kattarin Romanov, has taken the throne after her mother's untimely disappearance. The Tzarina is dead, all hail the Tzarina!
Death In Kislev: The Vampiric pest that grew so powerful in the last century continues its bloody work. In the city of Kislev alone, twenty corpses were found, absolutely drained of blood. Many were of the set of nobles that had refused to pay what they considered exorbitant taxes to the Tzarina earlier in the year.

How convenient :drevil:

Any way we could kill him early or have our wife plan it out?
Why, exactly, would you, an honorable Bretonnian Knight, kill some random Imperial noble, even if he is a fuckhead?

(If it makes you feel better, I am rolling every turn for whether or not someone finally manages to survive long enough to drag the scum into the dueling square and put him down)

And yes, that makes me feel better. If he dies, will you let us know OOC or in the Old World News?

Reward:
300 Prestige, small pile of Heirlooms, Orc bands broken for the moments, Morgyan is Pregnant, Sir Aldric and Sir Geoffroi are smug, rest of Knights Unbound grumbling and 5 gold poorer
Well played, Aldric and G eoffroi, well played.

Oh, Philip. You'd be surprised how many people go to the Shallyans because they want a cute nurse waifu.
The part that amuses me the most is how some folks flirt with the young nurses specifically to get the old nurses so they get the most expert care. I wonder if some of them turn it into a game, trying to figure out if the "wounded man" is actually trying to get expert care, or just "expert" "care".

Tiny miniskirts for everyone!
"But what about-"
"EVERYONE."

I hope he lives. If Marienburg secedes we might have a chance to leverage our mineral wealth* and buy chucks of the "useless" Wasteland. SV being SV we'll probably figure out some better way to use them than in canon.

* If there's one thing the Directorate likes it's gold. And we've got Fantasy!Arthurian El Dorado and who knows what else in the mountains.

The problem there is that Courrone is significantly more likely to buy said wasteland if anyone was going to. Expansion in Montfort would likely be best aimed at the Massif Orcal.

Forget Dieter, we should set Morgyan onto solving this mystery. Nothing could go wrong.

Alternately, Dieter could 'succeed' too well and with Grom's 'assistance' shatter the Empire again, allowing us to march into Reikland to 'restore order.'

Always knew the taxmen were bloodsuckers :p

Thing is that Courrone has to deal with its marquis, them potentially buying the land would empower him to petition to be raised to Duke of the Marches and whatever land gets bought.

True, but it still makes more sense for people who are actually near said land to buy the land, you know? Uppity vassals can be quashed, but distance is forever.

We do border the Wasteland though and in canon the Marquis of Couronne and the Dukes of Montfort and Gisoreux all had ambitions for the Wasteland.

We actually do have a potential border with southernmost part of Westerland, but it's small enough that whether or not it exists depends on the map.

The Giseroux Gap is the northernmost of the three passes between Bretonnia and the Empire. If Giseroux owns the entire Bretonnian side of the pass, then our only opportunity to expand east will be via the middle, Axe Bite, Pass, and require that Reikland secedes or collapses first.

Alright, hold up, which map shows this?

Not that I don't believe you, but when I checked I saw no such border. (Of course I'm pretty shit at map reading so that doesn't really say a lot)
