Under the Open Sky (CWMGQ Spinoff)

Yeah, I think getting FG buffed, off the spear, and away from Micah so that Team GEAR can happen to her is our best bet

[X] Plan Goalkeeper

Floral Glory risks just getting put in between us and pancaked.
The idea in my head was to shift right next to her, so we're effectively just pushing Mica away instead of crashing into her — having started our charge right before Mica.

Or we could just Shift -> Aggressive Absorption.
1) The "Save Floral Ferry" part is really rough. Please give your input.
2) I'm not sure if an attempt to grapple the dark angel might work. If it has merit, if it'll get us killed, et cetera. Please give your input.
1) We're effectively the only one on hand that is tanky & fast enough to close in and save Floral Glory. Arc is too slow and needed to burst Mica, Blue Bandit is too squishy, except maybe as a follow up grabber once Mica is occupied.

2) Mmm depending on how Aggressive Consumption works, it could possibly give us an edge if we're in too close for Mica to swing her big stick at us. And I think Disintegrate might help with False Existence? Still not too sure on the mechanics.

It'd be distracting at least, to have a mass of orange energy trying to eat you alive.

Hmmm. I'm amending my plan slightly. We're casting shield on Floral Glory, immediately shifting into "in your face" range, throwing apart both Mica and Floral Glory to separate them, THEN starting to play goalkeeper. See my plan post in a few minutes.

EDIT: Added the above statement. Also, included a proviso of "someone" keeping an eye on Floral Glory to ensure she doesn't bleed out while we're busy with the angel.

It's also the first thing to pop up on screen that is absolutely, 100%, irrevocably non-canon. Congrats Kelll, you're officially AU now. :p
If you look at the start of Crossworlds you'll see that Insight is alive. And Team GEAR was dog tired despite backing away to the barricades. And Juggernaut Drive doesn't show up at all.

:V First thing you say.

The tricky thing about this situation is that Wave Force would kill Floral Glory. And we didn't spend EXP in the way that lets us get the long range version.
I don't follow your logic on this one actually.
Long-range or short-range, Wave Force is Wave Force. Herokiller Mica using Floral Glory as a body shield could have still happened regardless.

Also, what are your thoughts on the plan I proposed?

Also, I really hope that Cruel Glaive, Mica's weapon, doesn't have Shieldkiller. Because it's technically equipped with Juggernaut which is Armor Piercing, and it would be in-theme - a weapon that batters down all protections.

This would put a crimp to our plans for stalling it.

Also, a question.
Suppose Cruel Glaive does have Shieldkiller. However, our panoply has Discovery affinity.
In an Intercept of our Panoply and Shieldkiller Glaive, does Glaive get its damage bonus just because it's a weapon of a Protection-affinity MG, or does he get that only after Intercept resolution and multiplies the damage that may have come through?

You never saw anything. Incidentally, have you played Sorcerers in Exalted 2nd Edition?
I said there's two flaws. One being that it would kill Floral Glory and the other being that we don't have the right upgrades.
I still don't get how having the "right upgrades" for Wave Force could have helped.

EDIT: On the subject of Cruel Glaive, if the name is a hint then it's more likely it has Murder, Rend or something similar. Rather than Shieldkiller.

Actually, not really. Yes, she won't be able to track us well. But Ramming Speed is obvious enough that interposing Floral Glory is still an option. Straight-line attack. We don't have the Boosted Flight to be able to take advantage of it as best as we could.
There are still sizable advantages to outspeeding your opponent past where they can react/sizable penalties to them, if I remember correctly.

Yes, there are.

Unfortunately, False Existence makes it rather impossible for us to take advantage of those. As is, we have a net speed advantage of 50 MPH for any attempt to get ahead of us, which is like a really really fast car overtaking a pedestrian. For my suggested role it works just fine without fulfilling the need for speed.

Why doesn't it help us that much? Well it's because without the ability to damage Herokiller Mica, we naturally have to cede advantage of initiative to her. This in turn forces us to react to her actions, so the ways and directions we move will be dictated by her. And therefore, predictable enough to negate any advantage gained.

So I know that we can't use Elsewhere to crush or rip apart enemies, but could we use it to expand either of the following distances:
  1. The distance between Floral Glory and Mika's weapon (make Floral Glory fall to the ground).
  2. The distance between the part of Mika's weapon that's in Mika's hand and the part of Mika's weapon that's touching Floral Glory (make the weapon stupidly long so that we don't need to worry about friendly fire).

You're probably thinking Vista shenanigans.
The QM will probably institute the equivalent of Manton Effect. Or worse, say that distance between FG and the weapon she is impaled on has suddenly increased, ripping FG apart.

And this isn't possible when we're Halting. Which is one of my vote options in case someone is a black-feathered cheating shit who's brought teleportation beacons or escape portkeys.

everything else could be given some spin and said to be canon. Not this though.

So, we could try to make the nightmare drop her spear. Shift in as close as possible, in between FG and the Nightmare if we can, and go for her hands. Then once she's dropped the spear, go full defense. Then wait for either Wave Force or Arc railgunning the Nightmare to death.

Sorry to double post, but I have a few questions for @kelllogo, as well as a note that the above plan is dumb.
First, the questions:
How accurate are our Shifts?To 1cm? 10cm? 1m?
Next, how much distance is between Floral Glory and the Nightmare? 10cm? (Enough for us to stick our hands in) 30cm? (enough for us to stick our body inbetween) More? Less?
Finally, related to the above, can we cast Wave Force forward from an outstretched hand? Can we cast it with our hands pushed back against our chest?

Basically, I realized that if we can get into zero range and she can't use Floral as a meatshield we should just Wave Force her to death. Even with Spell Boost though we need to hit her with the twin Wave Force to kill her in one hit.

Don't forget that the quickcast version of Wave Force is the Grand Dispel version. The slower to cast version is the damage only version.

Can we use our distance contraction ability while holding the slow-cast version? When if the Nightmare kills Flora we could just double slam it with a slow-cast, quick-cast hit.

I'm not sure if that would kill it though.
My goal with the space expansion was do the close range slow -> quick combo before Floral dies. Use the spacial expansion to get Floral out of the AOE of Wave Force.

I'm... not sure that would work? We'd need to get her off the spear and then let space snap back to normal so the wave force didn't just carry through the twisted space. Or in the case of the Grand-Dispel version (probably) just cancel the expansion.

The Nightmare effectively has her "grappled" currently. We need to break the grapple if we want to get her out safely and... I don't see that happening honestly.

I really wish someone had bothered to go "Oh, guys, yeah there's some other dudes heading over to handle the spellcasters."

That was just... that was bad Command.

She has at least another turn, possibly two, and:
You can close the gap in moments once you can teleport again.
We're going to be teleporting again next turn.
Now assuming we have the space and accuracy to land the Shift next turn, I have a plan.
[]Plan Surprise Wave Force
-[] Panoply to Omni-caster, Intercept, Crush and Adamantine
-[] Shift in between Floral Glory and the Nightmare,
-[] Hit the Nightmare with the two Wave Forces.
-[] If she neutralizes one and is still up, knock the spear out of her hands and use Elsewhere to get Floral Glory as far away as possible.
She does have her Herokiller's Mantle spell, which can neutralize spells. If she uses it, she's alive with about 2,000 hp. If she doesn't use it, she's dead. But with Intercept and Crush we should be able block her attacks, but I'm putting down Adamantine for good measure. Since she has Juggernaut we can't just tank her attacks (even without that unknown ability)

Shifts are very accurate. Within a couple of centimeters.
Herokiller Mica is holding Floral Glory at arms length, literally holding her spear where Floral can bleed on her hand. You could fit in between them without much trouble if you knock the wings aside.
Wave Force is odd for damaged area. Typically it hits a line hardest and spreads throughout the connected area. Summit expects using it while Floral Glory is being used as a shield would hit Floral fairly hard. You can cast it as long as you have a little freedom of motion for a hand, 5cm or so.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the mission to clear Milidia doesn't even have Solid Core visit the fortress.

Since it wouldn't be any fun to just have everyone go home from an off screen event (and to avoid asking for more spoilers) I'm steering this into crazytown.
