Under the Open Sky (CWMGQ Spinoff)

That's exactly what I was already doing.

It's one of the ways Summit runs into trouble since her scaling defense can be reduced by stronger attackers.
Yeah, end result is you were doing it right, but the Ability Bible had to be updated to change "Base Resilience" to "Resilience" in the descriptions of Armor Pierce and Juggernaut.

And people need to be aware that Base Resilience, Resilience, and Defensive Total are each separate things.

She conveniently does not suck compared to the trials she was put up against offscreen. GM was kind and put her up against level appropriate encounters (mostly).
Summit spent a lot of time running away in dark tunnels and shoving things down deep chasms when she was facing her unfair off-screen trials. A lot of things got winged by Anna and when they caught up with her were hit with a fully-charged Laser shot for their trouble.

And Summit only sucks compared to Solid Core. You have Unstoppable damage on tap, all the versatility you could want from a main weapon, and high-speed flight with freakin' teleporation. The real difference is how Solid Core can hand out her damage to an entire army where Summit has to risk herself to thump point targets.

Its also comparing a Legend Maker (without a way to cheat a higher Growth Affinity) to a Top 20 :V

Getting an Unstoppable attack at all is really damn unusual for a Legend Maker.

This whole thing started out with Summit getting thoroughly embarrassed by a two week old angel. She doesn't suck just compared to Solid Core, she sucks compared to anyone in that tier, the tier below, and maybe even the tier below that.

I know I'm a broken record griping about this but it would be different perception-wise if Summit were in her own world or wasn't realistically expected to have to deal with those people. But they exist and she is (see the insane mission back to Hell that was thankfully avoided). The entire base mechanics of everything just works against her strictly due to tier.

Summit has a reasonable amount of versatility and movement capability which just doesn't matter in the face of the casual bigatons that you need to be able to either throw out trivially or resist trivially to not be splattered as collateral.

There will be an opportunity to ask Gabriel for a rematch after Operation Little Miss Death Star. I expect it will go the other way with all the goodies Summit has picked up.

To be fair that was before Summit really got going with her super abilities, right now the odds are much more even. Plus Gabriel was ludicrously buffed.

I do get that Anna doesnt feel quite as overpowering as she is in BAHHSCQ, but besides this being a setting with a completely different power level, Anna isnt the anime protagonist with absurd growth or luck. She isnt supposed to be the main character facing down all the world-destroying threats, but is more of a side-character.

Also, Summit hasn't quite peaked at her power yet and already she's doing phenomenally well against people wayyy above her level with nice versatility to boot. (A legend-maker is supposed to be equivalent a single hell beast) Summit can't quite contend with Epic and Divine MGs, but their very design is meant to be bullshit - However I think she'd be able to beat most of the Legend MGs that dont have her experience.

And at the rate she's making a name for herself, Summit may very well pick up something for continously transcending the odds.

That depends on two things:
  1. Does the fact that Core Connection makes Gabriel's attacks have a pseudo-Divinity effect cause them to be reduced by To Defy the Gods? (I'm guessing the answer is yes)
  2. Will that take long enough that Gabriel will be capable of pulling out a Progenitor Golem :V

She already has really. The Implacable affinity, Ceaseless Warrior, and a truly immense amount of XP and growth. From here, I really only see two things Summit might get from overcoming even worse odds. XP, and Overwhelming Presence. Of the two, grabbing OP will guarantee a visit by some really nasty shit. I'm looking at Ichi in particular.

Clearly we need to continue up the 'To Defy the Gods' tree and grab Tear the Gods from their Heights

Then we just need to make sure our Panoply is sufficiently large enough for maximum power and defense. Recover and fuse starlancer's grounding stones. Equip the burn ability and shape our panoply into a giant skel-

...Oh wait

I mean TBF...
You probably could. :V

On Discord I asked if upgrading Fuse a bit more would let us eat the corpse of a Fairy Battlemage to get its abilities. The answer was "no", for soul related reasons.

Based on the fact that a Greater Nightmare thought so in-main-quest, I'd say yes to 1 too. For 2, sheets have revealed that it takes two turns to summon a golem. Also, with just 350xp we can get our top speed up to 190mph and then dodge-tank anything Gabriel could throw at us. (Though we should probably save for upgrading Wave Force.
I'm not sure if her Armor of Light could block a spell with Unstoppable.
Also, do attacks that can't hit us because they're too slow still count towards Ceaseless Warrior? Because if so, we just dodge for a few minutes while charging Laser up and get... 290 stacks of Laser on us. I think that's how it works.

Armor of Light works at 90% effectiveness when blocking Unstoppable effects... but you wouldn't use Unstoppable in a friendlynon-lethal spar, would you?

Laser can't charge up beyond weapon level unless your APT is higher than that. The best you can do right now is 30 stacks. It's also obvious as shit when you charge past the first few stacks.

EDIT: And yes, Core Connection does make Team GEAR count as being Divinity for the purposes of To Defy the Gods.

My current preferred purchases right now would be 2 points to Flight for the exact reasons you stated (higher tier dodge defense) followed by 2 points in Panoply (because the invisitext in character sheet tells me it gets 1 extra attack per 8 levels).

That is 350+300+310=960 XP.

3500 xp on Pioneer capstone is wanted as well, but sadly not very realistic to acquire.

Right, forgot about that.
The latter.

I just know that if I don't put a cap on it someone will suggest using it to do something foolish.
Like Ordnance + Multishot + Danmaku + 9001 laser stacks to bombard a magical girl out of existence :p

I really do think we need to get the next upgrade for wave force though.

If we can get that vampire (course we panoply 35) ability onto the stack we won't be unkillable by mooks, but it would be really really hard.
