It could just be that green is a step closer to red on the color spectrum and chakra color is dependent on density, with naruto possibly getting closer to red over time now and possibly even forming a rainbow after going past the visible light spectrum.

Once he was shown to have that as his special ability, it made me wonder if the Wind Daimyo having issues with Suna might have been because the Kage was playing fast and loose with the economy. And possibly stripping decorative gilding from the Daimyo's preferred heirlooms.

The true answer is that Naruto's chakra is actually on a very, very slow RGB cycle. In a week or so it will be light blue, and by the end of the year it'll be magenta before going back to red.

Given whatever information might have been in the betting packets, and his ability to alter his own chakra signature, maybe it's green because he's seeing who has the talent to notice such things (anyone looking twice who isn't looking at the maid costume is probably a sensor of some sort), and possibly intrigue Karin enough to overcome any hesitance since he's not a normal Uzumaki redhead.

Red means stop, green means go(yellow means go very very fast). The Kyuubi is gone, so there goes the red, and now he's always on the go, so that's clearly where the green comes from.
Shikamaru's colour might shift to green once he gets really into Go.

I would imagine that Paperwork Intent would horrify Tsunade too though. Do you think she'd perceive it as the paperwork for winning multiple lotteries?

Actually, Akatsuki really was originally founded as an organization genuinely seeking to encourage peace in the world, a difficult proposition in the ninja world, but they practiced what they preached. Then Danzo tricked Hanzo the Salamander into killing their leader while most, if not all, of the rank and file members got slaughtered by Obito before they could warn Konan, Yahiko, and Nagato about the ambush. Yahiko got killed, Nagato went all Gedo on the attackers, then in their moment of grief Obito moved in and convinced the surviving duo to take Akatsuki in a new, darker, direction
Probably assume that there must have been something nasty on the path she was planning to take. Maybe something like that human chakra bomb jutsu that infected Unruly A and his team sometime before Tsunade met Naruto

I wonder if people even remember where that line comes from.
I'd likely find it impossible to remember where the line comes from, due to not having seen the movie or tv series it's from... probably.
It's from a a movie from 1984 called Starman - about an all powerful alien who was trying to blend in on earth so he could find a date. It wasn't a comedy, and really, that line's the best part of the film.

Okay, so I have seen it. Once. 34 years ago or so. It didn't really leave much of an impression on me at the time. I thought the movie to be very forgettable.

That's actually from the anime.
In the manga, there is this scene where Naruto describes his normal chakra as yellow, and the kyuubi's as red.
I don't recall the exact chapter, but I think it is somewhere during Jiraya's training before the chuunin exams.
If pure chakra is yellow, that would also explain why Naruto's Perfect Jinchuuriki form is yellow.
Anyhow, that might be the reason why this story's Naruto has green chakra.
The anime canon blue mixed with the purified bijuu chakra that is yellow. That makes green.
Or it might be because he is pretty much constantly heals himself, Isn't madical chakra green as well?
