Tome of the Orange Sky (Naruto/MGLN)

Oh, and due to the foxes' contracts not requiring blood, you can probably summon yourself with your clones."

Well, that's just going to be good for all kinds of shenanigans.

Kids gonna use a close to summon himself away and people are gonna think he's using his dads technique.

Except his clones can all also disguise, so somebody's going to notice multiple people vanishing into thin air.

Iwa be reaching for their brown pants.

Well that's going to annoy some people. I wonder if anyone's going to question why Naruto got the fox summons despite supposedly only being the decoy? Maybe this will have Danzo reconsider his idea? Hopefully not.

So we have Naruto with a byakugan now... Well if anyone finds out there's going to be so many problems. Question does the charka net contain every possible bloodline with different parts active like is suggested with her automatically getting the chakra chains. Or is it an addition to the chakra net that acts as a precompiled program for a particular set of abilities? The fact bloodlines are inherited by only some people normally suggests it should be the second. As for why you don't get various clans with identical bloodlines with no relation.
The fact the sharingan apparent needs an external power source is suggestive of the second as well. I wonder what it is considering the last time I saw a fic like that it was Times Braid where it was a demonic pact...

Hinata really needs the armor before Naruto tries his attempts. I could just see him using chakra knives or swords. She will need that defense boost!

They'll think that he is doing some odd version of the henge for his byakugan. Hinata wasn't able to spot it working. They might just think that it's a henge to trick folks into targeting him rather than her.

No one really would expect his "henged" byakugan to actually work. Of course, he would need to be taught the basics of their style to be an effective decoy.

Suddenly, I have this odd thought where Naruto's village nickname is decoy. Mainly because he seems to be able to mimic most clan kids and be the target that folks would try to grab. Now, who else could he end up copying that it would actually be worthwhile?

Naruto still playing the part of being the fox container's decoy would work. Him having the fox summons just is another layer to that.

He grinned, then realized that he should figure out how to turn the byakugan off..."

Errant quotation mark at the end here.

I guess because foxes are more sneaky and are stereotypically known as tricksters it does make some sense their summoning contact would be very straight forward and set in what is and is not allowed. You don't play tricks and lie to your close allies after all. You have to know that you can trust them. Lie to, steal from, and trick anyone else but never family, it's the only way they could work as a society really.

The "written in stone" joke is a good one though.

Thanks for the chapter CmptrWz! Looking forward to everyone reactions when Naruto shows up with a fox kit and how The Old Man explains it.

Reading about foxes and stones etc made me think of the Eelfin from the Wheel of Time. There might be an o make percolating…

Honestly after a bit of thought on possible future relationships it wouldn't be surprising, especially should Naruto's parents get new bodies, we get Kushina encouraging Naruto to build a harem so that she can have maximum grandbabies to spoil, especially given that she would also likely want to build up the Uzumaki clan's as numbers sooner rather than later after living through the destruction of Uzushio and it actually being somewhat practical due to him being male as well as shadow clones limiting the interpersonal aspect of the relationships to be easier to manage time for dates and other one on one interactions even just using clones to free up time in his schedule to keep all parties emotionally content with the relationship and more so if they don't consider spending said time with a shadow clone as a problem(and even then likely having the original to themselves for special occasions such as birthdays).
Not saying that I expect the story to go this way or that the author should do this, just that the idea amused me, and I ended up considering that there were several factors that made it seem both legitimately plausible for Kushina to act this way and that there were many factors to make it more reasonable to maintain such a relationship in a stable and healthy manner than real life polygamous relationships.

I just have the feeling that Naruto is going to end up impersonating the princess of Fire Country while on a mission at some point. Let's see how he doesn't make an international incident of this.

Props if said Fire Princess wants to throw away stuffy royal life and be a ninja.

I mean it's not like it's easy to fake the Nine Tailed Beast. A tribe of illusion and subterfuge experts intimately familiar with how to fake a fox would be a very good resource for pulling that off. And hey, they owed the Toads some favors, plus it sounded like an interesting challenge. And their pay was getting an Uzumaki class summoner, which pretty much any of the summon clans would want, just for the ability to pull off mass summoning.

Ended up reading this as a trap sentence, with "like his parents" in the sense that he was fond of them. Which doesn't make a lot of sense and I had to backtrack once I hit the next word, but I found the sentence overall jarring.

May make sense to reorder the sentence slightly?

"Proving he could prank the Anbu like his..." flows similarly but no ambiguity.
That would be because there are missing commas.

How long before the Tome is being upgraded with seals on it's components, as well?
Being able to add a cooling array on the heatsink.....
MGLN their devices their folded space construction ways, is really 4D like, when the normal world is 3D, the seals literally add a fifth layer to it all, in terms of complicating device construction.

I do hope Naruto learns the art of puppetry, atleast, CmptrWz.
Because if you look at it just right....
Then Ornithopters like out of Dune or Magic The Gathering The Rath Cycle, could be quite possible.
I really hope that the Tome can figure out how to either create Linker Cores or else Mana Generators.
There are sure some very fun options, in the Naruto World, to use & abuse, if you can supply the needed power for it all.
The fun thing is that they never actually said anything about the possible size scale of what a puppet could be, you know, so you could go quite odd, there.

Or wrap "like his parents wanted him to" in commas, since it is an explanatory clause?

And Hiashi had amended the standard request for members of the Hyuga clan to not graduate early to include an exception for Hinata, allowing her to graduate early if Naruto did.

... let me guess, Hiashi has already an Omiai prepared for when Naruto will discover his hormones?

And the contract-Stone, I expected the omake of the stone yes cracking, but with a Fox-Waifu emerging instead.

"Er, would I become a...kitsune?"

"We don't think so. [snip]

She pouted at that,
LOL.

Don't give up Hinata! Just because fixing the chakra-net thing doesn't make you a kitsune doesn't mean the Tome can't do that for you.

If it comes with shapeshifting you should absolutely go for it. I know I would.
"You have enough chakra to not need the extra blood flow," his mother explained. "And not having your eyes change should definitely help disguise what you're doing."
Well that's broken. Naruto could just leave the Byakugan on for hours at a time and no one would know unless they look at his chakra or pay attention to what he reacts to. Maybe days, with his reserves.
Oh, and due to the foxes' contracts not requiring blood, you can probably summon yourself with your clones."
Well that's also broken. This Naruto is going to be a very scary ninja indeed.

But it's not dialog. Thus quotation marks are generally not used when writing a story. It wasn't that confusing of a sentence. A comma might be useful in it, but not required.
The quotation marks were because "like his parents wanted him to" was a quote from the story, not to suggest that it was in any way dialogue. I am suggesting that the final sentence of the third paragraph of Chapter 3 might be more easily parsed by by some people (including, but not limited to, those with English as an Additional Language) were it to appear thusly:
Pranking the Anbu to prove that he could, like his parents wanted him to, would need to wait a few weeks at a minimum.

At no point did I suggest that CmptrWz should be including quotation marks in that sentence. As the sentence makes sense with that clause ellipsed, placing it within commas is grammatically valid, and – in some cases – helpful.

Worse, if you add his shapeshifting, barrier jacket and now his new eyes to this all.....
Just think of how effective his clones are, all on their own, without him even needing to be there, at all.

Naruto turned the Paperwork Jutsu into a Research Jutsu, all on his own.
Funny that this also fits the Shadow Clone jutsu scout meaning that the Third Hokage knows that knows it as, plus waaay more.

I'm hoping that Naruto can get the three in the book, as his future guardians.
If only for the hilarity of it all.

That... doesn't really fit @CmptrWz's style from what I've seen.

The joke is related to the fact that the stone supposedly holding Tamamo No Mai, the notorious Kitsune who's ruined several Emperors, split in half about a month ago. NY-Times Article

Spacebattles poked fun at the fact that the version everyone knows is the Fate series version, which is... well a lot tamer than the historic version of her.
