There was a Spi...dea. (Sony, Spider-Man Producer Quest)

The problem was that Trish barely had any screentime and is mostly ignored until her death scene. The few times she appears have her act like a jerk to Cole even when he is good. Someone who should have a great relationship with the protagonist should be felt throughout the plot until their death. A character with poor chemistry with the protagonist, especially their lover, indicates there might have been serious problems even before everything went to hell that they might have broken up eventually.

The problem I had with Trish is that she was very poorly developed and treated as a disposable love interest in the game. This movie actually sounds like a true tragedy that would have made the story far more memorable. The game's plot was pretty forgettable and bland other than the big reveal from Kessler. It was clear the creators were more interested in the gameplay and final confrontation than the overall plot.

My personal headcanon was that Trish might have eventually divorced Kessler because of some relationship drama. Kessler probably was spying on Trish over the years and didn't like what he saw. He might have seen that Cole was going to have relationship difficulties even without his interference and decided to use it as a motivational tool. This is why Kessler was so willing to kill his ex-lover without any hesitation. Whatever love he had for Trish died a long time ago and he wanted Cole to see through his twisted point of view. That would have mixed results.

Now this chemistry and acting score for the movie actually seems to make the relationship truly tragic. Killing off a very likable character always hits harder than an unlikeable one. As long as you have the situation make complete sense. I think a lot of viewers will prefer the plot of this movie to the games.

I have no doubt that the romance subplot wasn't the biggest priority during the many rewrites the script went under, what with Nate Fox, Brian Fleming, Bill Harms and Caleb Moody's involvement, especially as they went around changing the story as the studio encountered, surpassed or struggled with gameplay limitations. But-

-I've got to say, this completely ignores the ancillary material from the comic books [as published by DC], which expands on Cole's relationship with Trish [something mentioned here and in the second link from before] and emphasized that her reaction as being directly linked to not only her sister's death but her uncertainty regarding Cole's direct involvement, something that became emphasized after the "reveal" that Cole was a "terrorist". Like, it was something she knew had no basis in reality, living and supporting Cole through the rough patch in his life before this [dropping out from college six credits short and becoming a courier], but emotionally...she was a wreck from the Explosion, her sister's death, Cole's coma, the Plague, the Quarantine, etc., and the fact of the matter is, her walking away without a word tells us more about her character than any bit of exposition would have.

And then there's Kessler, who provides us with three bits of evidence as to why he still loved her, but chose to be fully Utilitarian in killing her: Sasha's rants (admittedly weak), the wedding photo he keeps on himself at all times and finally the memories he passes on to Cole...none of those are a sign that show he killed all emotional ties he had to his dead wife, he kept mourning her memory as he slowly went mad with grief, and did his absolute best to

Look, all I'm saying is there's a lot more to the story than just the game, and your headcannon does a disservice to both characters as was written. It makes Kessler a generic villain, when he was fully a Utilitarian bastard and gives less weight to his decision to kill his once/future wife [and effectively, his daughters], and cheapens Trish as a person, as a character, by making her death a petty act of revenge instead of something ultimately tragic that hadn't needed to happen if Kessler had taken personal responsibility and fought the Beast himself.

78- Release and Reception: InFamous: First Son. (March 21st, 2014)
[X] Don't do any reshoots, release the show onto Netflix.

InFamous: First Son.

"He took away everything that made me what I am... and I don't think I can rebuild myself" - Cole on Kessler.

Directed By: Chris Miller & Phil Lord.

Starring: Alexander Ludwig, Brie Larson, Travis Fimmel.

Critic Score: 85.

Audience Score: 87.

Critic Buzz: 86.

Fandom Buzz: 88.

You had decided not to do any reshoots for the show, and now... it was time for it to be released on Netflix.

Sure, it'd probably alienate some of your fans, who didn't want to pay for the subscription service. But, you felt that it was a good idea to put it on Netflix, and... well, the higher-ups agreed with you.

You had released it alongside InFamous Second Son on the 21st of March, 2014. Thank God for the fact that you were already having it worked on, while you were working on the movies.

And it had been incredibly well received by both fans and critics alike.

They had especially loved the romance between Cole and Trish, calling them 'couple goals' and such things... which just made the fans even madder at Kessler, when Trish was murdered.

Alexander Ludwig's performance as Cole MacGrath was praised for his talent and skill, at portraying the turbulent emotions Cole was going through throughout the course of the show.

Travis Fimmel was also praised for his performance as the villainous Kessler.

Haley Joel Osmund had gained some recognition via his portrayal of Zeke Dunbar. He had definitely gained himself some newfound fans.

Brie Larson was simply incredible as Trish Dailey, and you've gotten so many letters from fans, who were complaining about her getting killed off... even if it was important to the story.

The critics and fans alike had been really impressed by Christopher Lambert's performance as Andre Gerard, especially considering his injuries.

Ricky Whittle had gained some well-found praise as John White, even if his role wasn't all that large.

Emma Stone had actually made news, due to the fact that she was playing April O'Neil.

J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson was loved by all, as usual.

Wyatt Russell's performance was praised by critics and fans alike, he just made for a really good Casey Jones.

Booboo Stewart, Gillian Jacobs, Macaulay Culkin, and especially Adam Beach had gained quite a few fans. And there were even talks of doing a spin-off all about their adventures together... and honestly? You wouldn't be averse to it.

Especially if Sarah Shahi's Brooke Augustine was the main antagonist of the hypothetical spin-off... you thought she could do really well, given a good script and good direction.

Maggie Smith was as usual, well-received as Aunt May in her most recent cameo.

Donnie Wahlberg had actually become somewhat of a meme within the InFamous and Spider-Man communities. With the way he got his ass handed to him, by the enraged Cole MacGrath.

People had become hyped for the eventual gang war between Winston James Francis' Tombstone, and Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin. And honestly? You were too.

The fans had loved Charlie Cox's performance as Matt Murdock, which made you just want to start that Daredevil project even sooner.

Honestly, the fans had just loved the show, and all the references within it.

Hell, they even loved the mid and post-credit scenes teasing at a possible Venom, and Hamato Yoshi.

Domestic Netflix Results: 23,000,000.

You'll be honest... you don't know exactly how much money the show made.

You managed to make quite a bit off of merchandise, though... with how many toys there were, due to Netflix not wanting to disclose that sort of information with you.

But, you know that the merchandise had actually managed to gross more than the show had even cost, which was... surprising to say the least.

And now, with this done... it was time to work on the Sinister Six movie.
__________
Man... it's been almost a month since I last posted, terribly sorry about that.

This update has been an absolute bitch to write, and I'm so sorry it took so long to actually finish it.

Gonna get to the Sinister Six movie stuff in a bit.

79- Just some Questions, before getting to the Sinister Six Movie.
It was officially time to begin work on the Sinister Six movie.

The Shocker was to be the protagonist, which you thought was a good idea, having who was probably the most recognizable member of the cast be the main protagonist.

The rest of the Sinister Six would consist of Moses Magnum, Kraven The Hunter, Shredder, Chameleon, and Molten Man.

Before you actually get to work on the movie, you have to figure out whether or not Moses Magnum would have his powers or not.

Does Moses Magnum have any powers?

[] Yes. He's a newly awakened Conduit, with the power to generate seismic waves from his hands.
[] Sort of. He made a suit that allowed him to generate seismic waves, while also keeping him armored from any threats.
[] No. Moses Magnum doesn't have any powers, he's completely powerless.
[] Write-in:

You also had to figure out why Shredder of all people would have joined the Sinister Six.

Why did The Shredder join the Sinister Six?

[] He's joined the Sinister Six as a way to make more powered allies, for his eventual plan to take over The Hand.
[] He has joined the Sinister Six, as a way to hone his skills against other people with powers.
[] You don't have to give a reason for Shredder to be around.
[] He's not a part of the Sinister Six. You can't really think of a way he'd actually be a part of it. (Who do you replace him with?)
-[] Andre Gerard/Cyclone (Christopher Lambert)
-[] Adrian Toomes/Vulture (Michael Keaton)
-[] Max Dillon/Electro (Donnie Wahlberg)
-[] Aaron Davis/The Prowler (Mike Colter)
-[] Curtis Connors/The Lizard (Mads Mikkelsen)
-[] Cockroach Hamilton (Donald Glover)

Wanted to do a quick couple of votes before getting to the plot stuff, mostly to make it easier to write around either Moses Magnums powers/suit/no powers, and Shredder's motivation/lack of motivaiton/replacement.

Please use a Plan Vote Format. Now, I'm off to bed.

Don't like this TMNT/Spidey crossover, so yeah.

You're doing the whole 'disregarding the people's vote' again. Shredder got his spot in the Sinister Six fair and square so including an option to void that vote leaves a bad taste in my mouth. This is like the Emma Frost thing again.

80- The Sinister Six Movie Plot Vote.
[X]plan preparation
-[X] Yes. He's a newly awakened Conduit, with the power to generate seismic waves from his hands.
-[X] He's joined the Sinister Six as a way to make more powered allies, for his eventual plan to take over The Hand.

First things first, you had decided that Moses Magnum would be a newly awakened Conduit, gaining the power to generate seismic waves from his hands. You felt like that worked well with the character, giving him actual power to go along with his financial, and social power.

You also decided that The Shredder would join up with the Sinister Six, as a way to make more powerful allies, hoping to use his new... team members in his plan to take over The Hand.

Whether that would be successful or not, is really up to your future plans.

And now, you had to work on what the actual plot of the movie would be. You had a lot of ideas, after all...

What is the plot of the Sinister Six movie?

[] Herman Schultz, The Shocker has been in Ryker's Island for a few years now... and he's been planning, and making connections. All so he can formulate a way to escape from this prison. He's recruited five allies in his escape, Sergei and Dimitri Kravinoff, two brothers who had been imprisoned during the rise of Conduits, Mark Allen-Toomes, the son of The Vulture, and a Conduit of decent power... and two others, Moses Magnum a newly awakened Conduit, who has a vested interest in getting The Shocker and his crew out, and... a man only known as The Shredder. Who seems to want to use them for... something. The entire movie is about their prison break, having to get through guards, and other prisoners to escape.
[] Herman Schultz has recently escaped from Ryker's Island, and formed a little... gang, of his own. Consisting of a few low-level villains and Molten Man, throughout the first act of the movie, they meet the Kravinoff brothers, going by Kraven The Hunter, and Chameleon, forming somewhat of a friendship with them. One day, as they were planning their next heist. A man walked in... Moses Magnum, and propositioned them with an idea... stealing from a group, called... The Hand. After some negotiations on their cut of the loot, they made an agreement. And met up with a... disgruntled member of The Hand, going by Shredder. Here's where the Sinister Six first forms, to do a heist on one of The Hand's very own banks. During this heist, though... most of the lesser villains in Herman's gang are either, killed, incarcerated, or flee. So, it's just the six of them left, to fight against a horde of pissed off zombie ninjas.
[] Herman Schultz has been planning his escape from Ryker's Island for years... he even had a crew set up for it, consisting of various low-level villains, and the newly incarcerated members of the Sinister Six. Molten Man was arrested after a rampage, Sergei and Dimitri Kravinoff were sold out by The Kingpin, Moses Magnum was found to be embezzling funds, and recently revealed to be a Conduit to the world. And a man only known as The Shredder has been put there for... unknown reasons, apparently a test from his 'clan', but Herman doesn't believe that. But... as they were planning. The timetable is abruptly moved up, due to the reveal that they're going to be sent to... The Raft, a new maximum security prison specifically designed to contain Conduits of all stripes, along with anyone Enhanced... forcing them to improvise their escape on the fly, having to abandon some of the lesser-known villains in their plans. They manage to get out of Ryker's Island, with a few of their lesser members dying or being greatly wounded... including themselves. They had managed to escape though... even if they had gained the attention of a few heroes, which they had to quickly dodge, and scramble away from.
[] Herman Schultz was hanging out in a bar, having escaped from Ryker's a few months ago during the chaos of New York suddenly... fucking blowing up. Where, he was met by a man wearing a suit of armor... calling himself The Shredder. Apparently, he had been recruiting Conduits, Enhanced, and anyone of any merit to join under his banner... whether that would be by coercion, force, bribery, or any other way. After naming his price, and being paid, Herman was in... and was taken to a warehouse, where he met a group of ninjas, soldiers, and a lineup of Conduits and Enhanced... four others really caught his eye though. Sergei and Dimitri Kravinoff, a pair of enhanced brothers with particular skills that he'd found useful... Molten Man, a Conduit of frightening power, and Moses Magnum... who was there, for some reason that Herman didn't really know, until Moses revealed his Conduit powers, and how he was being discriminated against by the government for them. The five of them had actually formed something of a... strange bond. They didn't particularly like, or even trust each other... but they found themselves working together well enough. That was what most of the movie would be, five of the members of The Sinister Six training, and forming bonds with each other. Apparently, Shredder liked that, as he had the five of them make up his... officers, or something like that in his new... Foot Clan. They were called the Sinister Six, which had obviously... included Shredder. Herman didn't really care what he was, as long as he was getting paid properly. Eventually, a group called The Hand had arrived... with zombie ninjas, and they began fighting.

I am so sorry for not doing an update... for a while.

Just been busy with other projects, and real life. I'll make sure to be faster next time, though.

Also, hey! 80th update. Neat, we're really close to 100!
