"Ah, well... I'd like to get another scriptwriter to touch up my next film, if that's alright with you" You said with a smile.
"Of course, I can't get the same guy to work on it. But I know quite a few people who are just as talented! You'll have one of them coming to you, once you begin production on this next movie of yours" Avi said with a wide grin.
You have gained +10 to Scripts for the next film.
The two of you chatted some more, before you had to get to business with more work.
The work was, creating a Spider-Man game!
You'd gotten Valve interested in the project, and had them get to work on making a Platformer, RPG, Adventure game for the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3.
"So, sir... who is going to be the protagonist of the game?" One of the writers asked you.
Who is the protagonist of the Spider-Man Game?
[] Peter Parker. (Spider-Man)
[] Miguel O'Hara. (Spider-Man 2099)
[] Ben Reilley. (Scarlet Spider)
[] Write-in (Remember, this is 2011, so if a character was introduced after 2011? Don't suggest them.):
"Alright, great! Now... what sort of idea do you want for the general... vibe of this game?" The writer asked.
What sort of game do you want?
[] A fun, happy game. Good vibes all around.
[] A tragic tale, about a man wanting to do the right thing, but the only way he can do it, is by sacrificing his own personal life.
[] Write-in:
"Alright, how many villains are we allowed to use? I just want to know what I should tell the developers and designers. They'd mostly be bosses" The writer asked.
How many villains should appear within the Spider-Man game?
[] Only a few... four at the max.
[] Eight seems like a decent amount.
[] Ten? That seems good for a group of enemy bosses to fight against.
[] As fucking many as you want to do.
[] Write-in:
After that, you had finally gotten to casting for your Luke Cage movie.
Thankfully, you had gotten quite a lot of people interested in working with Quentin Tarantino, and the actors had seemed highly interested in the script.
And thankfully, Alfie Allen was available to do shooting for the Luke Cage movie, the schedule not at all messing with anything else he had going on. You had seen the first episode of Game of Thrones, and thought he was quite enjoyable in it as Theon Greyjoy.
Now, it was time to cast for the Luke Cage movie.
Casting Carl Lucas/Luke Cage: The protagonist of the entire movie, a man who was framed for a crime he didn't commit, and gained superhuman strength and durability from experimentation. You're looking for a strong-looking man, who can act well.
[] Mike Colter: He looked honestly great, and his audition went well. Though... he was more used to long-form television, and with him? Luke Cage would probably work best as a mini-series. So, it may be difficult for him to adjust to a movie's runtime.
[] Terry Crews: Terry is an absolute powerhouse of a man, and could make the character of Carl feel strong, even before gaining his powers. You definitely liked his audition too.
[] Jamie Foxx: Jamie is truly, a really damn good actor. And you could see him playing Luke Cage amazingly.
[] Michael B. Jordan: You loved his audition, he loved the script, and honestly? He looked like he could play a good Luke Cage, and that's all you can say on that.
[] Idris Elba: He'd be an interesting actor to play Luke Cage. You honestly really enjoyed his audition for the role, and he seemed to enjoy the script a lot.
Casting Willis Stryker: Carl's old best friend, turned framer out of jealousy. He won't be in much of the movie, but it'd be good to get a good actor to set up a groundwork for the character for later projects.
[] Ricky Whittle: He's somewhat new to acting, having mostly been a model, but you could see him playing a good Willis Stryker from his audition.
[] Anthony Mackie: His audition was really good, he seemed to be able to play a damn fine Willis Stryker.
[] Jamie Foxx: Jamie had decided to audition for two different roles, just in case he didn't get the other, and had done remarkably well in his portrayal of Willis Stryker.
Casting Reva Connors: Carl's old girlfriend, who was truly in love with him, and was devastated to see him go to prison. Once again, not the biggest role, but an important one.
[] Halle Berry: Halle Berry had done a phenomenal performance in her audition as Reva Connors, though... there is the issue with scheduling conflicts, as she'd be busy with other films. And the problem of her already being known as Storm.
[] Angela Bassett: Angela had given a strong performance in her audition for the role of Reva Connors, showing that she was a strong, independant woman, that wouldn't act like a damsel in distress that Luke would need saving. And honestly? You really liked that.
[] Parisa Fitz-Henley: Parisahad done a great audition, showing a softer side to Reva Connors, that the other two seemed to... not lack, but not show as much.
Casting Noah Burnstein: The scientist who experimented on Luke Cage, giving him his powers. It'd be great to get a good actor for it.
[] Jack Black: Jack Black had done a great job in his audition, being more of a comedic scientist, than a truly malicious figure. Though, you liked that portrayal.
[] Michael Kostroff: Michael had auditioned with a more... nerdy stereotype of a scientist, which still worked, though was a bit generic.
[] James Remar: And finally, James Remar had auditioned with a more... sinister scientist, knowing full well that Carl hadn't volunteered to be experimented on, but doing it anyway.
Casting Herman "Shades" Alvarez: A fairly small role within the movie, but one of Luke Cage's big villains. It'd be good to get him a good actor.
[] Pedro Pascal: Pedro had done a good job, showing off a more level-headed Shades in his audition. You quite liked it.
[] Theo Rossi: Theo's audition was more... calm, and relaxed. As if nothing really mattered.
Casting Albert Rackham: An incredibly racist guard at Ryker's Island, out to get Carl.
[] Christoph Waltz: Christoph had given a more... posh, version of Albert. Making him more intelligent in his actions.
[] Chance Kelly: Chance had made him into more of a rash, hotheaded asshole of a guard. And it worked.
Casting Cockroach Hamilton: A fairly strange man within the movie, covered in cockroaches, who speaks to a strange, unseen item named "Josh"
[] Donald Glover: Donald had auditioned with a more... crazy-seeming Cockroach, not seeming like he was legitimately insane... just, a bit crazy, with the way he whispered softly to "Josh".
[] Eddie Murphy: Eddie had decided to go with a more comedic take for Cockroach, cracking various little jokes, and talking to "Josh" a bit less than you'd liked.
[] Kevin Hart: Kevin had auditioned with a more... comedically angry approach, and you were fine with it.
[] Dorian Missick: Dorian had decided to give Cockroach more of a smug, assholish performance. Making him quite unlikable.
[] John Boyega: And finally, due to this being his first big role, John had decided to kind of... play it safe with his audition, acting pretty well, despite his obvious nervousness.
Casting Big Ben Donovan: Carl's lawyer, who tried to defend Carl in court, but ultimately failed.
[] Terry Crews: Terry had also decided to double up on auditions, acting as a calm, methodical lawyer, trying to get his client a non-guilty verdict.
[] George Harris: George had decided to audition with a kinder but sterner personality, seeming to truly want Carl to be found innocent.
[] Laurence Fishburne: Laurence had auditioned with a more... slimy sort of lawyer, willing to do anything to get his client away from a guilty verdict. Though, he seemed to still be a good man deep down.
[] Danny Johnson: Danny had auditioned with a more... scummy, sort of lawyer. Willing to help anyone, as long as they paid well enough, though he seemed to still have good in him. And you enjoyed that portrayal.
[] Chad Coleman: And finally, Chad Coleman had auditioned with an aggressive defense lawyer, willing to do anything to help his client, though he seems to be quite prone to... rage.
Casting Curtis Carr: Carl's friend within Ryker's Island. He's a genius chemist, who is in complete awe of Carl's incredible strength.
[] Laurence Fishburne: Laurence had decided to audition twice, wanting to play Curtis Carr before he becomes Chemistro, he'd bring a more... intellectual type of character to the... character.
[] Anthony Mackie: Anthony also double-dipped with his auditions, playing a more friendly, comedic version of Curtis.
[] Robert "IronE" Singleton: IronE had audtioned, acting more like a... comedic sidekick to Luke Cage. You weren't sure that was the best way to go about it, but... it was fine.
[] Tyler James Williams: Tyler would be a younger Curtis, he'd be more of a young sidekick to Luke Cage, learning about the prison from him. It could be an interesting take.
Casting Moses Magnum: A weapons manufacturer, who comes to Ryker's Island to see the prisoners that were experimented on by Noah Burnstein, and seems to be highly interested in Carl's bulletproof skin and superhuman strength.
[] Michael Ealy: Michael had auditioned with a more seemingly kindhearted Moses Magnum, though there was more behind the seams.
[] Mahershala Ali: Mahershala had auditioned with more of a... business-minded Moses Magnum, all about the "business first" model. It could definitely be interesting.
[] Trevante Rhodes: Trevante's Moses Magnum would have to be slightly reworked to be a young up-and-comer in the buweapons manufacturing world, wanting to make the first super soldiers for the United States of America, which he would sell to them for a ludicrous cost.
[] Terrence Howard: And finally, Terrence auditioned with more of a wise-cracking genius... kind of like Robert Downey Jr's Tony Stark... you don't like the idea of them being compared in such a way.
After you got done with casting, an idea had come to you...
You had the rights to Daredevil now (You definitely have them, you checked with the lawyers and everything... there weren't any loopholes or anything, you completely own Daredevil)... maybe you could add something to the Luke Cage movie to easily intergrate it into the universe?
Do you want to add any Daredevil References to Luke Cage?
[] Yes. (What?)
-[] Add Bullseye to Ryker's Island as The Shocker's right-hand in his side-story.
-[] Add some casual mentions of Daredevil throughout the movie, kind of like how Spider-Man is mentioned a few times in passing.
-[] Add Kingpin himself in Ryker's Island.
[] Just add some tags around Ryker's Island referencing a few of Daredevil's villains (Bullseye, Kingpin, Mister Fear, etc.)
-[] Write-in:
[] No.

Luke Cage Movie Plan
[x] No One Man Should Have All That Power
-[x] (Luke Cage) Michael B. Jordan
-[x] (Willis Stryker) Jamie Foxx
-[x] (Reva Connors) Parisa Fitz-Henley
-[x] (Noah Burnstein) James Remar
-[x] (Shades) Theo Rossi
-[x] (Albert Rackham) Chance Kelly
-[x] (Cockroach Hamilton) Donald Glover
-[x] (Big Ben Donovan) Terry Crews
-[x] (Curtis Carr) Laurence Fishburne
-[x] (Moses Magnum) Mahershala Ali
-[x] (Daredevil Reference) No.
Michael B. Jordan is still up-and-coming at this point, with a decorated television history but limited billing as a blockbuster star. If we change that, he'd be a strong face for the Sony cinematic universe. We can still grab Jamie Foxx and Terry Crews in other relevant roles that play well to their talents (Crews as Big Ben Donovan seems immediately fitting to me). Parisa is a risk; this is some years before her OTL appearance as Reva Connors, and she is very fresh, but a fresh and young actress to pair with MBJ makes sense to me. I picked more serious options for Noah Burnstein, Shades, Rackham, Moses Magnum and Curtis Carr; I don't think that picking comedic options for these roles fits the tone we have intended for the film as a prison drama. Donald Glover goes a little against that philosophy, as there are more "serious" versions of the Cockroach Hamilton character in our casting options, but I think he brings a fanbase to the movie and I can picture him really clearly in the role. Kevin Hart would also bring a fanbase to the movie, but I'm not sure that he'd gel as well under Quentin Tarantino's directing.
The Daredevil references seem too early to me, and I think they would be inorganic. I would have been okay with incorporating Kingpin, but the movie already strikes me as busy.
Video Games Plan
[x] Born to Die deserved AOTY
-[x] (Spider-Man) Peter Parker
-[x] (Game Theme) Write-In: Beauty and happiness in the face of adversary. Spider-Man's world is melancholy, and things aren't great, but he fights for the most in every moment.
-[x] (Villains) Write-In: Six is a meaningful number in the Spider-Verse. That should be appropriate for a sinister cast.
For some reason, I picture the game as a Metroidvania. Why doesn't a Spider-Man Metroidvania exist?
[X] Plan: A Rogue's Prison Sentence
- [X] "Peter Parker" (Choice Dependent)
- [X] The game starts off fairly standard, Peter Parker finding himself trapped within a laboratory of some kind with no memory of how he got there, and through careful exploration of it comes to understand the size and scope of the operation. Roughly midway through the game, with further exploration and narrative progression, Peter makes two discoveries: the first, that the enemies he's been fighting up until now are clones of him, and second, that he's not the only one being cloned right now. Horrified at the revelation, Peter storms his way through the rest of the compound determined to put a stop to this madness...and at the end of the game, after managing to finally escape, discovers he [and the other residents] were never the originals at all, just the latest in a long line of clones.
-- [X] Depending on the choices the player has made, through narrative, moral choices, and even with their equipment, the clone will choose a different identity as their own; from Kaine to Ben Reilly, from Scorpion to Doppelganger.
-- [X] The death mechanic will reflect the protagonist's nature as a clone, as each time character is "revived" it will be implied they replaced by yet another clone of themselves.
- [X] Eight seems like a decent amount.
- [X] Michael B. Jordan: You loved his audition, he loved the script, and honestly? He looked like he could play a good Luke Cage, and that's all you can say on that.

Ever watched him [Jack Black] in Peter Jackson's King Kong? He can be fairly dramatic when he wants to be, and specifically that role, while initially charming, slowly devolved into a manic sociopath, obsessed with his vision. That line, "'twas beauty that killed the beast" from the original here comes off as somebody realizing the depth of their greed, knowing that a different choice...would have made him more money.
