The War in Heaven: An Angel in the War of Wrath

Wrong World of Darkness, Demon the Descent (the one with the God-Machine) is NEW world of Darkness

And no, no God Machine even if some Angels are a bit computer like.

However, She Who Lives in Her Name from exalted is there
Alright, good I really dislike the concept of the God Machine and how it makes player actions pretty pointless at least from my point of view.

Prologue: The Great Prophecy
The Great Prophecy

You shiver in anticipation as you accept the link, as do all of the participants. You know you are about to witness some of the most impressive display of Lore since the Creation. One hundred and eight Ninsun directly supported by seventy-two Belim, without even counting the Heralds such as yourself not specialized in the Lore of the Celestials, and assisted by perhaps a thousand other angels of different qualities. No obstacle could overcome so mighty a gathering. Your only regret is that there are no real powerhouses of your own House present. Lucifer or even Michael could have lend as much power to the ritual than all of you combined.

You see the seers take wing and float in the air, turning like planet in a solar system, but this pattern is one of time not space. In the center, Ahrimal and the twenty-two Major Arcana spin the quickest, ready to turn their gaze in the swirling path of the many futures. The others Heralds and you begin to concentrate to feed the Fates in energy, reinforcing their Evocation, burning away all imperfections.

It begins without warning, as you are all plunged into darkness. The black hungry mist that surrounds you is full of screams and grunts, as if someone was battling. The taste of blood is fresh on your tongue and you see glimpses of great fires and bloody ruins. Something has been broken, something has been destroyed, never to be returned to the world. You don't understand, what is this darkness? A ploy from the enemy that seems to ravage Assiah? An illusion? You grit your teeth as the seers gather their power.

The vision gets clearer but not by much, your mind linked to your peers, you understand the variables are simply too numerous to create a prediction. The doom you perceive could come from thousands of directions, as if the sin of one, of anyone, could wreck the world. Pain fill your body and wracks your limbs, you see war and recognize some of your enemies. Creatures of shadows, ape-like bloodthirsty monsters, servants of those who came before.

Is this the answer? Will the Elder Ones bring the end of the world that rose in place of their dreams? That seems almost too easy. You have no time to ponder as you sense in the present His presence drawing near.

You feel the massive influx of power passing through you on his way to the seers. Around you the darkness colors itself in pink, violet and orange. At the behest of Lucifer, light comes and you see clearly the consequences if not the causes.

Cities will be raised by humankind touching to the very gates of heaven. Cities will be razed and corpses will litter the streets.

The gateway to the Maker's audience chambers in Atziluth will be barred from the inside, angelic remains standing silent watch over these condemned gates.

The Elder Ones and their children will rise, high as the night breaking the egg of creation to seed their own worlds. Sea will march against the flame, the heavens will be twisted, dragons will come from beyond the world, and all shadow will whisper and plot the demise of everything.

Blood runs hot, wrath clouds the minds, War is coming! The Spring of the World is ending and winter, endless winter will follow!

Lucifer's words ring around the room:

"What we have seen is beyond belief and humanity is at the center of it. I listened to your arguments while coming here and here is the position of Lucifer the Lightbringer Prince of All Angels. We were commanded to love humanity above all things and we would suffer them to live under the heel of the Elders Ones? We were crafted to build creation and we would refuse to watch over the domain entrusted to us. Our duties are to love and protect. I choose to keep them even if that means breaking others commands."

And before anyone has the time for an answer:

"Those of you who agree, come with me. We will be in Assiah when the sun sets."

Will you follow him?

[X] No.

God already told us he has a plan. Let's not unintentionally mess up any plan of his. Also Angels already made a mistake with Lilith, do we really want to make another mistake yet again?

So the sides...
Thus far, we've got lovecraftian horrors, the soon-to-be fallen and then all other angels.

...With this, will there be some negotiation for ceasefire if eldritch horrors start screwing around, so everyone joins together to beat them down before going back to arguing?

Because I'm starting to suspect this splintering will be the catastrophe, since suddenly unless God Himself jois in we might be having some trouble with a reduced number of angels able to hold the line.

That would be possible, but difficult as if God ordered the loyal angels to fight the fallen then they will fight and not doing so would cause one to fall also. So really the only thing that could allow it is if God allows both to work together to repel the Elder Ones, sine they all love humanity.

But it also has the problem being that the Elder Ones are really going to be free because the Angels who were supposed to be watching their prisons were not their as they were busy fighting the war of wrath. So it can also be blamed on the Fallen.

All in all. This is a clusterfuck of epic proportions.

I hate self fulfilling prophecies.

The sides of the War will be if nothing changes

Lovecraftian horrors and their servants
The Fallen Host
The Loyal Host
The "Fuck you I'm going to make my own Kingdom" Host
The "Let's euthanize Creation' Host

Also to stir up the pot further.

These Lovecraftian horrors? They're kin to God so predicting their actions could be impossible even for the Maker. You didn't see the event that broke the seals or signal the existence of the world to them.

They are known as the Primordials, the Elder Ones, the Titans, the Children of the Absolute. You defeated them once but some stayed in Creation like insect caught in amber. Later they will be worshipped by the Baali and the Nefandi (vampires and mages wanting to destroy the world)

Let's just say Children corrupted zones look like the Cancerverse and leave at that. There will be reasons (and cryptic commands apparently) to just destroy everything and begin again.

Goddammit Lucifer.
In all meanings of the word!

Alright.
OK.
We won once, this is going to be round two.
Maybe if we're lucky God will join in?

Or God will make more angels or something?

@Dark Ness

If you are loyalist, and it's winning, that will be difficult. The Fallen will separate themselves in legions during the War but it will possible to secede from the Host once on Assiah.

Of course you must before be given a postion of command. Fortunately field promotion will quickly becomes more popular.

As for the breaking of the seals, let's say it will be more than a part of the punishement on the Fallen than anything. Or perhaps an unintended consequence of the Second Fall

god cannot know with certainly what the eldritch abominations will do .

and thus putting complete and total blind in his plan would be a folly.

because at the end of the day, the eldrich monsters will come for humanity and we can either prepare them for it. Or twiddle our thumbs hoping for a miracle, and do nothing as the world reaches destruction.

Is their a way to make more angels, as well to kill them?

Because if Angels are immortal then the war is going to suck.

And you think lucifer would be better suited for coming up with a plan?
He's the one that's splintering the host!
