The War in Heaven: An Angel in the War of Wrath

It seems to be a pattern, with other posters joining in on how they'd want to jump ship at first possible opportunity and so on.
We're a loyalist, we didn't turn when Lucifer started this whole thing, so we should stay as a loyalist.
I don't agree with that reasoning. There may be decision points further down the line where Falling is the more desirable outcome.

It's called character development in a dynamic setting.

We have made a huge choice that massively defines our character, there shouldn't be some quick and easy way to then just go "yep, now I wanna Fall, nevermind that I trust and love God!"

I know. I want to join the Fallen, but I want it to be thematic.

Randomly deciding to become a rogue angel right now makes no sense. Falling in a thematic way (like defecting when the first order to kill the Fallen is given) builds our character further.

Yes, annihilation. Which nobody found acceptable on either side except God. The loyalists were incredibly uncomfortable with it, and the rebels universally said fuck that. But it would also have been God doing it; but at some point, God is going to demand that his angels personally kill the Fallen angels. Some (hopefully us) might not agree with that.

But that's just one example. The point is that any Fall we have, should be thematically appropriate.

The question now is whether if God or the Fallen strikes first. At this point murder still has not been invented and the war is basically trying to win the loyalty of various human tribes. If God orders us to attack the Fallen that would be okay, but if the Fallen are the first to strike then it is only right that we fight back.

The Hunt Begins
The Hunt Begins.
You dodge the mace blow aimed to your head. Instictively you draw on Fire letting a steady burst of flame strike your opponent. the ape-thing moan in what could be pleasure before your power char it black. Around you your companions still battle: Olorin of the Fourth try to influence probablity to your advantage and you know it's working when you see two Bisclaveret die instantly, reality imposing itself to their alien biology. Nearby Allatar and Pallando strike your prey with abandon, creating spears of pure light and knives of ice from the very air. Curunir is with them burying the ambushers with burning boulder or transmuting them to metal. You sigh. The fervor of the Primordials' servants is not conductive to good sample harvesting. At this pace you'll need live specimen to study rather than mangled corpses.

Fortunately there's always more Asuras coming from the cracks in the earth that were one of the prisons you built in the fabric of the world. The Choir of Daath will let you take all samples you need before trying to reseal the place. Apparently your foes managed to evolve during their long exile and new tactics and new weapons will have to be devised. While the chaff you are fighting is of no consequence, new creatures have been sighted and some Angels had to retreat when a Second Circle came join the fray.

At last a silouhette emerges from the cracks, alike and different from your prey. It looks like an ape but stands three meters tall at least. Its skin is not red but green corroded bronze. You see a stray spear of light burning its way through its flesh before the skin reknits like nothing. He is wreathed in green hateful fire and on his brow is a mark of blasphemy. Smaller creatures come soon near it, escorting him to the fight as you move to intercept, signaling your brethren your true prey is there.

What will you do?

[] Power: Try to destroy its followers with the Lore of the Flame then try to see if it can regenerate charred wounds.
[] Finesse: Blind the whole lot with the Lore of Light then ensnare them into illusion to herd them towards the hunting party
[] Resistance: Gird yourself with the Lore of the Forge then distract your opponent while using the Lore of the Celestials to strenghten your comrades Evocations

So we have Power 10, Finesse 8 and Resistance 7.
This is making me lean towards trying Power.

[X] Power: Try to destroy its followers with the Lore of the Flame then try to see if it can regenerate charred wounds.

Why destroy them when we could get samples from them?
