Omake: God Dammit, L33T!
"Well Leet, this has been fun, but I think it is time for us to make our exit!"
Uber managed to maintain his dramatic and confident voice, but his expression was one of near panic as the tall, thin, raging lunatic of a girl wearing a
tee-shirt ninja mask and holding a medieval shield charged at him yet again.
This was supposed to be a simple episode of their show. Appear at the mall, lock everyone inside, introduce their characters and the scenario, have some fun, then slip away before the lockdown ended and the heroes charged in.
Unfortunately, they appeared to have locked a hero in the mall with them, and that hero was most definitely not happy with the situation as she did her outright best to feed them her shield while cursing about how much she hated clothes shopping in the first place.
Leet pulled a baseball sized sphere out of his belt pouch, pressed a button on it and gave it a short toss in front of him. The sphere hovered at eye level and began to beep and flash as it warmed up.
Then, he uttered the two short syllables that everyone in Brockton Bay dreads ever hearing fall from his lips...
"Ut oh"
Uber and crazy chick both froze and stared at Leet and his sphere which was now starting to beep faster as a thin curl of smoke wafted out of it.
"How bad is it?" Uber said with resignation. All thoughts of the battle were forgotten as the only pressing matter now were ones pertaining to withdrawal to a safe distance.
Leet listened to the frantic beeping of the sphere and cringed as large sparks began flying out of the device. After a moment, his face turned ashen.
"It wasn't supposed to end this way," Leet whispered as he collapsed to the ground.
"What the hell are you talking about? How long until it blows!? How big will it be?" Uber shouted questions at Leet as he grabbed his partner and shook him by the shoulders.
"The fusion driver is going critical. That will be bigger than the mall itself. Maybe a minute? Certainly before the stasis lock on the mall exits goes down." Leet mumbled his answers and then scowled up at the sphere. "Because OF COURSE the dimensional shifter is what decides to blow up rather than the damn stasis lock! Stupid power. I guess it finally managed to get its wish to take me out."
The hero's eyes darted from Leet to Uber and then finally settled on the sphere. After a moment, she straightened up and marched to the sparking and smoking device and raised her shield toward it.
"If I live through this, I swear you two are going to regret it," She said with a final glare at them.
She touched the gem in the center of her shield to the device. Leet gasped as the sphere seemed to melt into the shield as it morphed into a new shape and design.
For a brief moment, the hero's eyes seemed to focus on something invisible right in front of her, and her face twisted into a confused expression as she muttered, "What the...".
Then, she disappeared.
[C̵̹͔̏͌̇a̷̰̓̕m̶̱̩͗͜ẻ̴̫̲̪͑o̷̐̈͜ Buckler (Small)] eπi+1 % Mastery
Attack: ♘
Defense: ♖
Ability: C̵̹͔̏͌̇a̷̰̓̕m̶̱̩͗͜ẻ̴̫̲̪͑o̷̐̈͜ (10 MP to activate, 10 MP per minute): Causes the shield bearer to dimensionally shift to the location of an alternate version of themselves in a random alternate reality. When the ability is terminated, the shield bearer will be returned to their home universe in their previous location.
This ability is automatically activated when the shield is equipped, and cannot be deactivated until the shield bearer's MP pool is fully drained.
A/N: There you go. Leet's device malfunctions, and when Taylor tries to get rid of it by absorbing it into her shield, it sorta glitches out the system and breaks reality (just a bit).
If anyone likes this prompt, please feel free to post a follow-up with where she goes, etc. If it doesn't make any sense in the context of Shield Hero, I apologize, I don't know anything about that franchise beyond what has been shown in this story so far. Also, if someone can tell me how to do the info text layouts used in this story, I'll edit it to match.
