who needs to decide on stunts, haha not me probably :V

Though how she even kept all her memories of her real life (and got no memories of what the IT would actually be, it just drew on what she wanted when she was mummified, which was "save everyone") isn't explained at all.

I'd guess she's mostly happy with how things are, so the IT doesn't get to pull the "You don't WANT to buy it off" stunt.
No great ambitions, no feuds, grudges or rivals. Just to ber herself

Her life is 10/10 for a ninja.

Nah, her life ambition is to become a Legendary Shinobi, and she has a rivalry with Temari (because duh) and Sakura (Because she's Lady Tsunade's apprentice, it's one-sided though). It should be noted in the manga, her IT dream was "she is a famous weapons user who convinced Lee and Gai to act like normal human beings, and also Neji was alive" Her Anime one was "This is literally the Road to Ninja movie but with Tenten and she pulls a Sasuke."

Perhaps the reason was she was the wielder of the Sacred Tools of the Sage of the Six Paths at the time. Who knows.

One day everyone will be in a jumpsuit.

Seems like her ambition is what she thinks she wants...when what she wants deep down is to have her friends live and less green spandex pls.
For context, this was like an hour after Neji died (to which her response was to tell Lee to stop crying and berate his mental ghost for leaving her alone with "the two idiots." Not sure how much stock to put in that since she was in full "this is war" mode though).

Also that is three years in the future and featuring a Tenten with vastly different experiences :V

Week 1 - Calling in the Cavalry
You bite your lower lip as you mentally run through the list of just who you can go to with this. Your teammates are out, you can only imagine what would happen if you showed up in the middle of the Hyuuga compound with a foreign genin in the middle of the night, and Lee is...yeah that's not happening. Sakura could work, but you don't want to bring an angry Jounin down on her head, or her family for that matter. Your apartment is out, you really want to help, but you're not an idiot. And the Village Guard...you spare a glance down at Kin, no they'd just throw her in a cell or something. She needs help, not an interrogation, for now at least. Which leaves only one real possibility.

You're still not quite sure what you're doing, you reach down and takes one of Kin's hands in your own. The Sound-nin flinches slightly at the contact. "I..." You begin uncertainly, "I think you should come with me. I can take you to my jounin-sensei. He can keep you safe."

Kin still appears uncertain, eyes desperate and haunted. She wraps her free hand around both legs, and rests her forehead on her knees, as though trying to hide from the world. You suspect that if she could sink down through the wooden building and into the ground, she would have.

"You, um... won't have to tell him..." You continue, still hesitant, "I mean, we won't make you, uh... He won't ask anything of you. I promise."
You stand, still holding Kin's hand, and make to help the other girl to her feet. "Let's get you somewhere safe."'

The girl lifts her head up slightly, looking back and forth between your hand and your face with wide eyes. You see an array of emotions pass over her face, fear and desperation chief among them, seemingly fighting with herself over whether or not to take your hand. She opens her mouth to speak, but whatever she was going to say dies in her throat, and in the end all she manages is a slight nod of her head.

Your face splits into a wide grin as you pull her up, and you give her shoulder a reassuring squeeze, "Don't worry. Just follow me. We'll make sure they can't hurt you." She nods shakily as you both drop off of the roof. Time to visit Gai-sensei...oh god time to go visit Gai-sensei.

You quietly pad through the empty streets of Konoha, Kin following you in silence, and while you do so you try and remember everything you know about Otogakure. It's not much, to be honest. They're a new village, based in the Land of Sound, and really the only notable thing about them is how much people don't know about them. You don't think anyone even knows who the Otokage is. Though if they were willing to throw away a Genin team simply for not succeeding in the Chunin exams, you can't help but think that whoever they are...they're just a bit callous.

You spare a glance back at Kin and offer her a reassuring smile and thumbs when you see her glancing around nervously. "Don't worry, we're almost there. Just a few more blocks." She doesn't so much smile at that, but you see her face relax a fraction at your words. Somewhere off in the distance you hear a dog barking as you wade through the moonlit streets of the residential district where Gai-sensei, your feet faintly crunching on the gravel of the road.

Kin continues to glance around, and while her face still betrays the fact that she looks incredibly nervously, that's not the whole story. "I didn't...It's nothing like I expected." You hear her murmur behind you.

"Oh?" You perk up slightly as you glance around a street corner, "What were you expecting then?"

"Just a second rate village with an ego too big for its own good, strutting around like it was better than everyone else." She grimaces, "At least, that's what we were taught..." She finishes with a bitter note in her voice.

"Sounds like whoever wrote your curriculum had a grudge." You say lightly.

She gets a strange look on her face, "Yeah...I guess you could say that..." she trails off, continuing to glance around her surroundings.

You really want to ask about that, but you did promise no questions, so you hold your tongue. For now at least. You've arrived anyway, you usher Kin through the wooden fence enclosing the small, immaculately maintained lawn and approach the simple single story building. Frankly, you're not entirely sure what to expect. You've only been to Gai-sensei's house once, and that was during the day...and after that little fiasco you've been careful to avoid any other repeats.

You take a deep breath, well it's now or never, and rap your knuckles against the wooden door. Or you would have, if the door hadn't immediately opened, so instead your hand lands with a soft thud against a standard-issue Konoha flak jacket. You blink in confusion once, before your brain manages to catch up with what just happened and you look up. "Gai-sensei! I, uh, was, ah..." You trail off as your teacher suddenly appears in front of you, looking exactly like he always does. Does he sleep in those clothes? Not now brain! Say something.

"Tenten!" He barks, with a serious look on his face as he takes in the both of you. Kin is just looking at your teacher with wide eyes, and eventually his gaze settles on her...and her headband. His eyes sweep back to you. "What is going on?"

How are you going to explain this Gai-sensei? And more importantly, convince him to help?
[ ] Take the lead. Explain this. Oh god how do you explain this?

- [ ] Focus on how Kin really needs someone to be there for her right now.
- [ ] Tell him that she really needs some guidance.
- [ ] Just tell him what happened.
[ ] Let Kin speak for herself
- [ ] Do introductions, but then give Kin a chance to make her case.
[ ] Write-in?
- [ ] Stunt?

Well, you got to Gai-sensei's house. Now time to convince him to help you out. As for Kin, her expectations and training of what Konoha and Konoha-nin were going to be like are currently grinding up against what is actually happening. And they are losing, badly. Hence why she's here now, even having done what's she's done now is something that she can't come back from. Suffice to say, if anyone found out, well...bad things would happen.

Assuming she's not actually a double agent or something. :p

And the next update is likely going to carry you through to tomorrow's event (which is visiting Lee), which is the last one for the week. I'm not entirely happy with how long this week took to get through, though some of that was due to your guy's luck with events, so I'm looking at reworking how the week actually progresses. Currently, my idea is to streamline each day down into the highlight's, with a series of vignettes per update so as to let me condense decisions and votes. Basically each day as an "Episode" if you will. But I'm still taking suggestions on how to actually do that. So if you guys have anything you'd like to see more/less of in updates, this is the time to tell me.

Edit: Also whew, this update should push it over 100 pages. Thank you guys so much.

Yeah omitting facts to Gai is a no go, despite all appearances to the contrary, Gai is a ninja and as such is more observant than one gives him credit for.

[X] Take the lead. Explain this. Oh god how do you explain this?
- [X] Tell him that she really needs some guidance.
- [X] Just tell him what happened.

Can I choose two of those? I'm still really new to actually voting for quests and such.

None of those omit facts, they just determine what, if any, spin Tenten tries to put on it.

Most critical one, I think, more than guidance.

At work, but I think the stune could channel it towards her suggesting that her own village may kill her

-- [:)] And what happened is that you found a young girl in the middle of the night who badly needs some YOUTH in her life.

I think i'm going to wait until I see the stunt's as I think this roll will fail without one. Maybe,

I know that this wasn't really what you meant when you talked to us about the importance of helping people in trouble; but she is in trouble, and I want to help her. Gai Sensei do you remember mission X (variable) where we run into the taki nin she's in the same situation and you helped then.

I don't know I just pictured Naruto's missions and went this seems so familiar Tenten's not a protagonist but she's defiantly seen him do kind things for people who might be enemy's.

Edit the only thing it's missing is, if he isn't convinced offer to wear a green style cloak with a turtle emblem (youth symbol) on the back to the exam finals. Bribery something that works far better if you can pull on the person's intimacy's. I feel like we should try to hit as many of these as possible.

This is the reason we want to help Kin (stupid useless Compassion), but not a great explanation to Gai. He'd figure this out without it needing to be said. It might be worth talking about as a way to push Kin towards Konoha, it's not subtle about it in the least though. I'm not sure how trying to poach Genin during an exam would be perceived.
Focus on how Kin really needs someone to be there for her right now.
Tell him that she really needs some guidance.
Trying to be nice without as much "your village will kill you" pressure.
Just tell him what happened.
Focus on being professional. I'm pretty sure Gai can pick up on everything no matter how we explain it.

Yeah, I'm honestly stumped here.

IC, Tenten has no way of knowing that Kin's life is in danger. The most she knows is from Kin, and that's:
"Because I need to prove myself!" She cuts you off with an outburst, practically screaming, "Because I need to show I'm not some useless, useless fucking failure. Or they'll-...He'll-" She stops herself off, seemingly choking on her words. "I...wanted to follow you, see what you were doing, find out what you could do. Get something worthwhile to show I was still worth keeping around. Dosu he-" She chokes up at the mention of her former team leader, and she squeezes her eyes shut. You can see the beginnings of more tears glisten in the corner of her eyes.

You open your mouth to say something, but then shut it with a click, you don't really have anything to say to that. Maybe it's not as bad as it sounds, but still, you shiver slightly as your mind works its way through the implications of what she said sink in. You'd of course heard rumors of what happened in other villages, but you'd always thought they were just that, stories. You hesitate slightly, but not for long, before you scoot forward and put a hand on her shoulder. She stiffens when you touch her, but she doesn't pull away from you. "Hey, it's going to be alright." You say with more confidence than you feel, but it seems like something you need to say.
I suspect the idea that another village might kill it's nin for failing an exam is kinda alien; even Bloody Mist stopped that shit a while back.
So voicing it herself might seem alarmist. She's probably running more on the criminal neglect and expulsion line of thought, stuff she can prove/has supporting evidence.
Gai will know better of course, but the guy who finds ANBU ethically dubious is not going to have been in a hurry to push that shit into her face.

I'll come back to this later today, but right now I'm leaning towards:
- [ ] Focus on how Kin really needs someone to be there for her right now.
It's the middle of the road option, more or less.
