-[X] They're Rookie kunoichi and you're a veteran with a full year's worth of experience and training under Konoha's preeminent taijutsu master over. Even if it's two on one, if you can't keep them from forcing you to go all out too early on it'd be down right embarrassing. Besides which, they're rivals, aren't they? Pull a weapon that'll let you control space, like a three-section staff, and redirect one into the other. Trip them, force them to stumble, outright batter one into the other if the opportunity is there. Put one at risk and prevent the other from rescuing them or capitalizing on it and keep the pressure up.

[x] Go all out from the beginning, Gai-sensei said to test them right? Well, you're going to test them. (Tenten will use everything at her disposal to try and beat Ino and Sakura)
-[x] stunt: They move so slowly to your eyes just dodging or blocking would be too easy. Instead you get them to hit each other.

Making them hit each other rather than personally crushing them should be an effective enough handicap to make things interesting. They might even learn to set aside their differences and work as a team if we do that which would be more interesting then separating them and beating the stuffing out of them.

Also I really want to see some Solar Charms in action and this is a great opportunity to see them in action. The ability to make an important point on teamwork is simply icing on the cake.

Not only is going all-out a bit much, but remember, there's no way Shikamaru doesn't ask Ino about how we fight afterwards - I'd rather not give him any more information than we have to. Currently, all he knows is what he saw us do to Temari.
You guys need to fix that missing bracket at the begining of your posts.

Does hanging out with Gai count as integrity training?

Depending how your votes go Tenten is almost certain to pick up XP towards a Straight Man Integrity Specialty.
Poor Tenten, even with crazy powers that she's only begun to scratch the surface of, the universe (by which I mean us) goes out of it's way to make her a straight man who can only be confused by the insanity of others.

And it's only going to get weirder...
That isn't so much her being the straight man as it is her not getting the dynamic between Ino and Sakura. Considering the closest example she has for "Teen Girl Drama" is Neji.

-[X] As cherry trees require just the right amount of rain to grow, so is for the love youth to bloom on the battlefield the right amount of opposition is required. And today it is up to you to be a gardener, a goddess of (steel) rain to bring nourishment for these two youths so they could blossom into truly splendid Kunoichi! Yosh! ... And oh damnation, it's spreading. Control the battlefield while slowly ramping up. Pull a weapon that'll let you control space, like a three-section staff, and redirect one into the other. Trip them, force them to stumble, outright batter one into the other if the opportunity is there. I would prefer to avoid advancing the YOUTH! track counter right now, not to mention giving Shika more data by going all out from the start.

Some thoughts:
1) We should probably bring up Sakura's freakishly good chakra control to someone's attention. If she gets more advanced chakra control training (because obviously water walking is nothing to her), maybe we could learn it too
2) Yamanakas can read memories, right? Do we have past lives? Might be a good idea to have a trusted Yamanaka rifle through our memories.

Chances that she instead bullies Shikamaru into experiencing the training next?
Shikamaru is too smart to fall for that.
Two on one eh?". You drop your training weights with a heavy thud.
You don't drop your training weights at the beginning of the fight; you wait until a suitably dramatic moment in the middle (for example, when your opponent thinks they finally have you on the ropes) to pull an I Am Not Left-Handed.

They read surface thoughts IIRC. Deeper probes basically involve penetrating your system with Yin chakra...which I anticipate to have some difficulty.
Past lives not included.

They definitely could read memories in a stationary setup. And us cooperating would probably help. And at least he could probably read our memories of observing past life memories.

Seems to be a bit redundant since we'd need to develop the Past Life merit to get access to the memories, which they'd then read off our mind....so no different from just doing it ourself.

The praise from your sensei seems to mollify Ino somewhat, but you don't pay attention to that. You're too busy going pale at the thought that you accidentally brought two rivals to be tutored by Gai-sensei together. You don't know if you can deal with another pair.
"accidentally"

I think we knew all along, we just refused to admit it. :V

Yeah, unlike Ino Shikamaru actually knows what he'd be getting into.

Yes, and I'm restricting past life dots until later on. If they pop up at all that is.

"I want you to give them a good fight, 2 against 1, use anything you want to fight them. I want you to test them, and also push yourself if you can." Your eyes light up as you turn to Sakura and Ino, okay, you were wrong. You like where this is going.
:D
Explosive tags? Explosive tags.

VOTE
[X] You're interested in seeing what they can really do, so you're going to make them pull that out. (Tenten is just going to dodge and weave, much like she did in her spar with Sakura.)
[X] Stunt:
Push my opponents AND myself, Gai-sensei? you think. So no specials unless I need them? I can do that.

As your opponents share a quick, nervous look, you palm one of your lowest yield tags-barely flash and smoke, really- and fix it to your kunai with a quick pulse of chakra. "Lesson one", you say conversationally as you loose your kunai "Don't let your opponent dictate the pace of battle."
They dive for cover as the tag detonates mid-way between the two of them, leaving a large smoke cloud that obscured their end of the battlefield. Five-second duration, you muse. Enough time for them to make a plan, I hope.

Your right hand draws another kunai from your ready-weapons pouch as you relocate sideways, trying to make out figures through the smokescreen.
As the screen begins to dissipate, a spread of shuriken flies at you out of the smoke, followed by three pink-headed figures.
Absently you bat two of the shuriken out of your way, sidestepping the rest as you try to locate the Yamanaka girl.

There.
You see her on one knee in the background, her hands in the classic Mind Body Switch hand seal as she attempts to bracket you despite her putative ally being in the way.
And in a physical match too.Now that just won't do.

You sidestep, your left hand flickering through a quick sequence of hand seals as the distance to Sakura and her brace of bunshin closes. Tiger, boar, ox, dog, snake. "Lesson two," you intone as Sakura enters hand to hand range. "Coordination is key."
With a pulse and yank of chakra, you activate Kawarimi, switching places with Ino and watching Sakura crash into her with an unseemly yelp as her bunshin dispel.

As they disentangle each other with a lot of cursing, you glance quickly at Gai-sensei, who gives you a thumbs-up. Well then.
"Are you ladies going to fight me or what?" You ask in a mildly teasing tone. "Sunlight's wasting."
"Well, you are the one who keeps running away," Ino retorts with heat.

In reply, you unseal a tonfa baton into your left hand and you charge.

It's a stunt. A stunt will allow us to change the past retroactively, but only if we can maintain plauseable deniability that it was always like that. This stunt helps explain why we were having so much trouble water walking.
