[X] I don't have a problem with you joining, and I doubt my sensei will either. He's a big fan of rivals competing against each other. Talk to your Sensei about extra training and If you still want to come, drop by Sakura's house before five, and convince her to let you join in before she leaves.

Actually I had thought that she was ignoring that Sakura was on a team with two of her opponents. Mainly because first they had both taken off and weren't talking to her. Second, given their first round opponents, she didn't think she would wind up fighting them. Was there some subtext I glossed over that showed us hiding information from her.

dislike Sakura's stunt but I can't give a real reason, but i'm fairly sure the reasoning behind Ino's stunt is wrong. Sakura's fight was only disappointing to the viewers watching it on TV, in universe it was fairly impressive show for Genin that could have gotten them both Chunin if it had been in the finals. Also it's really blatant manipulation against a social character.

Finally Gai's stunt is wrong; Sasuke isn't a genjutsu specialist his family and sensei are both known for ninjutsu and he copied lee's taijutsu during the exam, to our knowledge he's never used Genjutsu. We should already know how to fight Neji by now because we're teammates. Which means we should be focused on Shikimaru, Gaara and maybe Naruto. Then focus on the second half on the tournament such as Shino.

I'm worried that if we say yes and Gai destroys Ino, she won't feel very obligated to help us out with her connections. It feels like this is a bit of an impulse decision, and Ino might not feel like she owes us any favors after all is said and done.

In the SD spin-off series (which is where that pic is from) yeah. It was part of their tie-in for the Road to Ninja Movie. Technically Lee and Tenten got turned into clones of Gai too, but they kept their personalities, unlike everyone else.

Agreed. Also, Sakura initially came to us and asked us to help her, and we brought her to our training session with Gai with the intent of her being our sparring partner, while Ino is demanding that we bring her to be trained by our Jonin-sensei, while insulting our training regimen. Yes, bringing her would be funny, but I think it might hurt our relationship with Sakura, and potentially Gai. As I said, we brought along Sakura to train with us and Gai decided to see what she could do, which is very different from bringing Ino who is demanding to be trained by Gai.

Tenten and Lee were fighting over a special edition of Shonen Jump, and in doing so accidentally ended up transported to the RtN verse. But they could still make changes to the plot by drawing in the Manga. Unfortunately Tenten put Lee in charge of illustration, so while they eventually managed to get home despite shenanigans ensuing, Lee accidentally ended up turning everyone into copies of Gai.

It makes slightly more sense in context.

I was going to say because they were already infected enough by Gai's personality to be immune, but missed opportunities. Aww...
