[X] Run away, find someone...anyone, tell them what happened. Gai-sensei, anyone, you're really not going to be picky at the moment. You need to get out of here, before anyone else comes back

Question: salving dosu was ever possible?
No? Besides why would we want to? The guys a dick.

If we ran after them and flared our Charka and Anima it would probably attract someone. Not sure if they would get their in time. Or if that someone who be able to make any difference, but it might work.

Poor show Tenten.
Dawn anima renders you immune to fear effects; the fact that you failed such an elementary test is concerning.
She was suppressing her anima with basically everything she had because, as far as she knows it makes her glow and shit...and well. That's not exactly conducive to hiding. She's been at this for like a day, cut her some slack :V

You needed to fail your stealth roll to hide from him, and then pass some very difficult social checks to get him to actually not just immediately take you out.
No? Besides why would we want to? The guys a dick.
I mean, by the standards of Sound-nins he was actually pretty nice. It's just uh, you know...sound-nins.

[X] Run off in the direction the spy went. For all you know, they were going somewhere vital. Even if they got caught, they might still be alive. You're just one genin, you need someone else to corroborate your story

And SV's White-Knighting is going to get us killed. Please, let people just read the discussion before voting. ... Oh, who am I kidding. *Sigh*
What happened to that solars break reality over their knee stuff you used to spout? Change your mind or something?
Could you sound like anymore of an insufferable prick.

Solars can do anything. Eventually. We are a day old Solar without a Charm to our name.

Changed my mind again

-[x]You flare your Anima and Charka all you can and draw your weapons. You probably can't do anything against a Jounin, but you are in the leaf village. Someone who can should come quickly.

Does Exalted have total defense actions?

We don't. We are a baby Solar with one Excellency to their name going up against the equivalent of two very experienced Dragonblooded. At that point, you are literally asking to die.

Baki is a MORTAL. We are a SOLAR. The rulebook EXPLICITLY states that a mortal fighting a Celestial Exalt is SUICIDE for the mortal.

A mortal with no powers versus a celestial exalt with a mature set, maybe.
We have literally two things he doesn't, in combat:
We can throw things well with essence, and we can stop bleeding as an act of will.
Well, we can also burn our whole peripheral pool refilling our chakra completely...

And as noted, he's someone with access to a sort of magic.

Except, as has been stated before, Ninjas are more akin to Dragonblooded on the power totem. Especially the well trained ones.

See Gai handing us our ass while he was still holding back.

It's not as if Hayate's gonna stand back and let us fight Baki alone, and we just need to flare our anima to summon reinforcements AND demoralize Baki due to our anima effect.

God, people, that guy's completely out of our league, you want to intervene, do it smart. Not charge in glowing.

-[X] Stunt: This is beyond your skills, as a foreign Jounin, but this is also Konoha territory. You recall Gai-sensei's strict rule never to use explosive tags again, unless it was a matter of life and death. As it turns out, this is a matter of life and death, at least one death happened, one to come. You slap on and activate an explosive tag as you flit past a tall, thin tree. Another on the supporting corner pillar of a shack. A third on a box of forgotten fireworks...wait, what the hell was that doing there?! Tenten takes a sudden change in direction. That should be enough noise to draw in Konoha's patrols, enough direction to point them towards the fight.

FYI the fireworks was one of Naruto's pranks, which he never got around to finishing. Stunted them into existence.

Not a supernatural fear effect. A straight Valor check for facing an opponent far beyond your own ability. Exaltation protects you from external effects, but not against your own resolve and power being too weak.

You skipped all the discussion from before the update, didn't you.

Just... go back and read page 36.

Short of it, if you're too lazy to do so, intervening means that Suna and Oto know that Konoha knows that Suna is going to attack. Either kicking off the war with both sides having their pants down or flipping the table so far over that any advantage that Konoha had in knowing that Orochimaru is attacking is just gone.

If only we had taken some kind of charm to increase our parry or increase our damage. Oh well, maybe people will actually think before voting next time.

So you want us to metagame, making use of ooc knowledge as if it were IC? Even though that's generally considered to be poor form? Tsk tsk. PC's have died for less.

We have no idea what is happening beyond an enemy nin about to kill one of our own that was formerly an ally with access to our village with who knows what kind of explosives planted around that he could have slipped under his watchdogs' noses.

Like I noted above, no one is going to bother reading the page where I explained all of this already (even why it would be IC), so I'll just have to settle for pointing out how much of an ass you're being about it all.

A melee excellency would not change anything. You do not face down the equivalent of a well-aged Dragonblooded with one excellency.
A melee excellency and Dipping Swallow Defense. And you do if you don't need to win, just keep them occupied. As a melee excelency works on defense as well as attack, unlike an Awareness excelency, which is practically worthless in the tournament.

...You do realize that planting explosives is a lot more difficult than planting a spy, and much more likely to be discovered, right? And that one does not imply the other? The more reasonable assumption is that Sound and Sand are secretly allies, and that Kabuto is a spy for one of them, who is about to kill someone who discovered him. There's no reason to assume a larger plot.

And insulting people again, and implying that they're not paying attention to the quest, rather than having merely disregarded your scaremongering. Nice.

Also, periods, learn to use them.

We wouldn't have the Charm. It's been one day and it takes two days to learn a Charm.

Now see, this is what I like. Yes, I was wrong there. Potentially, it is only a very small chance instead of a large one, but when dealing with ninja can you take chances? I would say even that small chance that there could be something should be enough to convince Tenten to pull out and retreat instead of trying to take on a Jonin. Which is flat out suicidal as far as she's concerned.

Yes, I am. Because it's what SV commonly does. Ignore large swaths of the conversation between updates. People aren't around for it, don't read it. Maybe they'll skim it, but more likely they'll skip to the update and ignore everything before it. Even if it's referenced in the discussion after the update.

One interesting realization this has all made me come to, if not so related: (Basically, I was imagining this scenario, but with a Nocturnal instead of a solar.)
New Nocturnals probably don't even have automatic dots in their caste or favored domains.
What's a Nocturnal without fluctuations?
Much like with a solar, the only really useful thing she'd have would be an anima power - and even then, it'd probably only be useful if she were Comet caste (raises the speed of the actions of the opposition (hence slowing them down) until they spend willpower to resist it).

You're right, we should hide away in our room, because you can never take chances when ninja are around.

Then stop making ridiculous statements like that.
Ninja are about calculated risks. A battle between Jonin is either going to get loud very quickly or be over very, very quickly. And if we did get there in time, what could we contribute against an opponent that is either on or in spitting distance of the same league as our Sensei?

Tenten isn't stupid, for better and worse. She will weigh the risks, unlike someone like Naruto who would rush in to save the guy.

Remember, in canon Baki (who has a lot of command authority) told Kabuto that sand would pull back and deny everything if their meeting was discovered.

@Crilltic where are we geographically? I mean, I assume this is some kind of foreign residential district, where allied forces are settled compactly in hotels to minimize spying opportunities. And can we run and write? I am thinking of a stunt, something like "as you run, you hastily scrawl a short coded message describining what you know, attach it to a kunai and, with supernatural grace, throw it, knowing without a doubt that it'll end up lodged in a door of a local restaurant, run by a retired konohan chuunin".
