Well we are SV there's only one thing to do.
[Q] Send a clone to follow Naruto.
-[Q] And leave one to enjoy the baths, you need to get back to xp grinding.

[X] Follow after him.
-[X] As you sink back into oh-so-nice waters and start to relax, a thought keeps niggling in the back of your mind. What was it that Naruto called his teacher? A toad sage? But... the only toad ninja you know of, who is also, according to stories you were able to read between the lines of academy history books, a huge pervert... No way. Impossible. Jiraya of the Sannin, here, training Naruto? You have to meet him! Thoughts of rest forgotten, you dash away after the boy. After getting clothed of course.

I HAVE NO STRONG FEELINGS ONE WAY OR THE OTHER
"I was, ah..." Naruto looks I was just trying to my teacher-andthenIgotalittlecuriousIdidn'tseeanythingIswear!" His explanation rapidly derails into a barely comprehensible mess. It takes a few seconds for you to actually parse your way through it.
Except that you're pretty blatantly missing some words and the quotation mark for the start of Naruto's dialogue there.

If staying wins I'll illustrate the bath scene (after I finish the library scene, which is 80-ish % done)

I mean, as far as incentives go, this is kinda dubious, but there you have it ^^"

I'm torn. I like the mystery box, mystery box has rarely led me wrong. On the other hand, Jiraiya is a brilliant goddamn shinobi and could very easily help Tenten advance very quickly...if he could be motivated.

[x] Stay here and finish your bath

We know Naruto already, and our higher power-level (thank you Solar ascension) makes it much more likely for us to be sent on things like Hunting The Sand Children or the Sasuke's In A Barrel missions. That means we've got a good chance of making even more of an impression on the class clown, which in turn leads to Jiraiya probably hearing about us. I'm pretty sure we'll be better served by letting this chance to meet him pass and taking a different one once it crops up.

Oh yeah, this reminds me, but if anyone needs a refresher on where Tenten, Neji and Kiba were during the entire invasion arc, they were evidently saving Hinata from getting kidnapped (again) by Kumo (again).

Granted, Tenten was there because she went down to visit Neji at like, the exact moment the Invasion started, and thus was around to convince him not to go running after two Chunin by himself while injured. (Kiba was there because Kabuto knocked him out after healing Hinata)

Why do I want to chase after Jiraya? We have fuinjutsu as favored. And I think Jiraya would recognize our talent in that area. And maybe he'll ship Naruto and Tenten. And this (before the exams) is our only chance of getting him interested in us.

We are going to war in Two. Weeks.
Fuinjutsu, nice as it is in it's higher level implementations, does jack for us during the Invasion.
There are no combat charms in Fuinjutsu/Linguistics, and touch fuinjutsu techniques are not available at genin level.

As for shipping? No thank you.
She's 14. Not really interested in watching a dude with a dysfunctional love life who carries a torch for a teammate try to ship his godson and a random female. Not to mention that it's not his style; Shippuden Naruto didn't come back with a black book full of dates.

And I'm pretty sure the GM has nixed this before anyway.

You want to vote for Jiraiya? Sure, go ahead.
But be clear that it has no bearing on improving our ability to survive the Invasion, or to defend our friends.
At best, it might open up future quest lines, which we have the opportunity to open anyway now that we know Naruto has met Jiraiya

That's not what I said. I said "if we don't catch Jiraya's attention now, which requires spending time with him, we won't have an opportunity to catch is attention later at all". Because he won't be in the village for a prolonged period of time after the invasion at all.
