Not convinced.
Jiraiya is a good connection to make, but he isn't useful to us in the two or so weeks before Orochimaru's House Party.
And given that we know Pervy Sage exists, and we are at least on speaking terms with Ramen Boy, future encounters are possible.

Bird in the hand only applies if we weren't going to meet someone else; word of GM is that someone else has been rolled here.
I mean, at best, I can see Tenten inquiring about Tsunade, not just because her idol, but because of Lee.
And it's not entirely a waste to meet Jiraiya; dude is a ninjutsu specialist after all, which might come in useful in the future.

Still, I'm not convinced I want to be drawn into the narrative focus around Ramen Boy and his entourage ; I was enjoying the storytelling focused around the lesser known characters.

Importantly: two weeks before the invasion.
Training tutors are important now, not for the future, unless you are comfortable going into the Invasion with 25% less combat charms.
