Thing is though, we just lost 45,000 Space Marines against this threat. That's a huge chunk of our Legion, and if we don't go in we're liable to lose much more than that if we're throwing them in without their Primarch's help. Being too afraid to do what's necessary out of fear of corruption is just as liable to screw us over. This is exactly the kind of situation where we need to lead from the front.

Also, I have no delusions that we're going to be able to avoid fighting daemons of Khorne and Slaanesh forever. They're not going to stop trying just because we refuse to go in this one time.
That's about a 4th the Legion, yes. But, not impossible to recover from, especially if we alter recruitment standards.

Neccessary, ha. We're going in because we want loot. If we're that worried about casualties then we would be destroying the station, rather than pushing more into the meat grinder.

I never said we could avoid them forever. But, that doesn't mean we shouldn't aspire to avoid flying right into such corruption vectors. For future cases, we should be more prepared in personal and Legionary cases. Getting a Champion and more combat training, and more anti Daemonic training for the Legion

A quick look into the rolling room has revealed that yes the tsun dice are real:rofl:

The dice are both the best and worst things ever. They make things so interesting but they also make all of my plans crumble away. The only one that was definitively a success was what I had Alpharius do and that was by complete accident. For once, it wasn't. Maybe it was Omegon, or maybe it was not.[\color]

Don't know, might be a good idea to avoid a confrontation with a daemon of a third Dark God.
Thing is it we are afraid to go ourselves shouldn't we just bomb it? Sending our sons in there while we hide doesn't feels right to me, like I know our leadership would be valuable if we coordinated but I'm afraid of how many sons we could lose.

So when we rolling for loot?

We're going to lose more than that fourth since we're going in. If we're going in, we should minimize further losses by using our Primarch to lead from the front and kick the crap out of these things.

And while sending in a Champion might be nice, we don't have one right now. Kesar's what we've got.

Loot. We want the loot to trade for favors and influence. Besides, there are still some thousands of Legionaries trapped within. There should be at least a token attempt made to save them.

It depends on the rolls for the mission and on what option wins in the end. Probably after the next update unless you roll horrible and end up unleashing an MoI on the Imperium.
Oh god we are going to unleash them :o
Our previous luck with this place almost garentes it:(

Also if we want the damn loot so much then we should go all in and stop our legion from taken more casualties than the dark angels with the genocides.

We shall be the Buddhist Not-Lamenters, where our tales of acceptance of suffering and sacrifice shall cause all but the most wretched Xeno to shed manly tears.

Leading from the front ends up getting you head capped because you underestimated the enemy. Just like Rawbut to Fulgrim.

Don't be a Rawbut, kids. Otherwise, you end up bitching about how everyone is an idiot in a situation you allowed to happen.

Leman Russ thinks you're a pansy little milksop. :p

Besides, that was Primarch vs. Primarch, not some loser daemon.

You know next turn as long as nothing hugely important that needs our attention happens (glares at the dice with gritted teeth)
we can have a nice peaceful turn of diplomacy with the mech guys which I am sure will not go wrong(more glaring)

Leman Russ got misty eyed and didn't kill Horus. He doesn't get to criticize.

In a situation that Rawbut allowed to happen. He fucked up. Him and his insufficient preparations failed him. At the end, when he almost died, he was begging the Emperor to save him, because he didn't prepare the goverment well enough. Then, when he wakes up, the insufferable prat is whining about the Emperor.

Alright then, Vulkan thinks you don't care enough about your Legion, because you're willing to send them into die against corrupted Men of Iron for loot but you're not willing to risk your own neck. Clearly you underestimate the Power of Friendship, and what it will do for us here. Do you really want Vulkan to be disappointed in us?

Ok, so? Still Primarch vs Primarch. And I don't see what his whining has to do with anything here. I give no shits about Rawbut or the Ultrasmurfs. We've got the prep we've got here, and we can either go in and ensure less of our legion dies or we can hang back out of fear of corruption when being the daemon killer Primarch kinda seems to be our thing.
