No, there is Brotherly affection, just not Paternal in Saiyan Culture. Mostly to prevent exactly this.
You just put him through Training from Hell before he has the ability to speak. It's really quite fun and relaxing

Right my reasonings:
1. Starting post namek give us justification for using Go and Saiyan/Vegetable theme naming, kudos for @Aranfan thinking of Gourd.
2. Gourd is both Son and Saiyan name, giving us considerable Potential boost, especially if starting post namek like I plan to do.
3. Hopefully this is the Willpower bonus choice of action
4. Post Namek means Goku, Gohan, and Piccolo are strong enough to restrain us in case we go berserk.
 
The most conclusive part of this vote seems to be that it takes place Pre-Saiyan Saga


Makes sense Really This is where we can generate the biggest butterfly effect.

So the Legendary Super Saiyan is a massive Mamas boy who will rage break harder then Vegeta in Dragon Ball Abridged if she gets hurt and said mom is Bulma who in all likelihood will encourage us becoming the greatest conquerer of the universe ever.

Baby Saiyans in general are Mamas boys until around the age of 6, and by that point the tendency is usually ingrained. It's a protective thing, Saiyan fathers aren't very protective of potential future rivals while mothers get the direct hormone rush making them love their kid. The Mamas boy instinct is to stick close to the powerful adult Saiyan during their formative years as much as possible who can then train the little runt and teach him civilized behaviour and how to fight.
Also Baby Saiyans don't really recognize their father, again mostly because if they did they'd lower their guard more than any strange rival hanging around.

I'm assuming this means that Chi-Chi is probably dead. Likely either from Raditz or trying to fight Vegeta with the other fighters of the 24th Budokai. Or even having gone with Gohan to Namek.

You know Ambushing Gohan still means we're probably beating him up. Because that's how Sayajin's roll.

Still wondering why the hell you guys thought LSSJ would be a good idea when we were told Sayajin Instincts were going to be a thing with the opening post.
