The Leech Lord (ASOIAF/SI) - Complete

Well unless the Droose can get Sansa out then she's a dead lass walking. I'm not entirely sure this is the best course of action for Robb to be making. Hostages are valuable for a reason.
That's the problem when you have to weigh the lives of those few most important to you to the hordes that are loyal to you. And when you get poked about those hostages again and again with actions that you must supposedly let pass because of those hostages.

You have to make choices. And Robb's been pushed into a bit of a corner here.

Remember, Varys has an escape plan ready and is offering to take Roose and company with him if they guarantee his safety afterwards. Not all is lost for Sansa, she just needs to survive with her neck intact for a few weeks longer.

If that.

Droose vanishes with the hostages, Joffrey snaps and does something stupid, Wildfire goes off, problem solved.

Eh, you can still trade hostages for their lives. You trade the Lannisters for Sansa and their world that the Lannisters will be exiled instead of head choppy chop. Both Stannis and the Starks are known for the strength of their word.

That relies on the Lannisters being trustworthy.

And as they were all "Oh, we have both your kids" then Arya pops up showing that no, they didn't.....
Not really; you lose very little by dragging the hostages along and then you can do a face to face trade under the walls for Sansa. If they try and cheat you then you can make with the choppy in view of King's Landing.

The Lannisters will be bartering for their lives; they're the ones that have to extend trust in this circumstance

Tywin is too dangerous to keep alive so i'm quite happy that they decided to eliminate him, Jayme ...... meh.

Under the walls? So that archers can shoot you to death?
And even if you meet on a neutral ground you would have to face a deluded psychopath and her even more psychopathic mongrel so reliability and trust are out of the table.

In the end an exchange is useless if only one party is interested in the hostages' well-being.

Well, Jaime's well-being is about the 5th most important thing in the world to Cersei (behind only herself and her children), and she wants to be her dad just as much as she resents him. Unfortunately, Joffrey has long-since realized he has the final say in these matters and he combines several of the worst traits of his mother, his father, his "father," and Aerys the Mad.

"Under the walls" means within a distance that both parties feel safe; it doesn't literally mean standing around hoping they don't pour boiling tar on you.

And damn, you have a low opinion of what the Starks feel for Sansa.

And this contradicts my statement where exactly? :p

Oh no, I was speaking from a pragmatical point of view.
I perfectly know that if Droose didn't teach Robb a few things he would let himself get fucked silly by Lannisters out of his perceived familial duty.

*Sees how everything is going worse for the Lannisters*

Maybe you can leave another one liner note to Cersei, Droose.

"You done fucked now, Cersei.":V
