The indomitable human spirit vs a galaxy of angst! A warhammer 40k human god quest.

This can be done yes, a fine example being your titles.

The chaos gods have countless cults varying in size, with many not even knowing they are worshiping chaos. They worship a specific Title, focusing on a singular aspect or portfolio.

Think of a religion as a species, right now you are at the birth of this species. Over time events and division will cause various members of the species to evolve into variants, they evolve with time. Yet there is still a visible genetic tree they can all use to trace back to the original, separate yet connected.

Hope this makes sense.
I wonder can we use hindu godhead theory? Supreme or absolute is origin or key principle while any other manifestion is part of its attributes. So he/she/it will remain first God or Foundation or bramhan and any God or goddess who are manifested part of him/her/it. It is not monotheism of Abrahamic Faith's rather more monist approach towards divine. So that way we can subsume human Faith in a more unified manner without much oppression or warfare to impose faith.

Updated the afterlife part of my plans to include more detail, take a look.
[X] Plan Safe Blanket
-[X] A Cabin & Campfire - Within a forest area filled with some plant life, a freshly dead soul will find a cabin with a campfire in front waiting for them. The fire will give off a comforting aura and provide heat for the soul. The cabin meanwhile will be personalized to the soul, this can happen in many ways. For example a family could get a big cabin with room for everyone or instead multiple cabins placed together and an artist would find the necessary supplies in their cabin to practice their hobby. If the dead grow lonely and want social interaction then they can follow a trail that will lead to a great shining bonfire that acts as a hub area for souls to gather and mingle about, maybe even make a new friend. The sky is at the sun rise or sunset position longer than pure day or nighttime.
[X] Plan On Cloud Ni- I Mean Cloud Ten
-[X] A Village In The Clouds - High above the earth a great village on top of solid fluffy clouds, a freshly dead soul will find themselves entering a silver gate and joining their peers in paradise where they can live in peace without worrying about survival and focus on perusing relationships and hobbies. Buildings would mostly be made out of wood & silver, but could hypothetically be made out of clouds too. Eating a cloud would taste sugary and water can be squeezed out of rain clouds. Once a soul gets accustomed to the afterlife the can learn how to move clouds by thinking about it and even ride them.

While we're in this voting period, I'd like to gain some input from those who've decided to read through this so far.

Constructive criticism is always welcome, while I'm also always willing to answer questions that don't delve into spoiler territory.
Generally I think you're doing pretty good. The one "big" (really stretching the meaning of big there) thing I've noticed is that the posts could use another read through. Little things like writing "uncles" instead of "uncle's" shows up once in a while, though your average number of mistakes is much lower than some others I've seen on the site. Other than that I don't think we're in deep enough to know for certain. Prologues are hard since you have to establish everything while hopefully making a good balance with interesting plot progression and characters. You did pretty good with the two characters that are actually important (Hagal and the Emperor), so I don't think you need to worry too much about that. The one other criticism I have is that the dialogue feels weird with the mortals for me, but I think that might just be because I tend to go for more casual dialogue in what writing I do. Overall, I think you're doing good for something that's relatively casual.

Thanks for the input, I do my best to look through things but stuff does fall through the cracks no matter how hard I try.

As for the mortals speech, I wanted to make the prolog read sort of like a myth if that makes sense? Like the scene with the spring sounded like a story you'd tell to children or the like, if that makes sense.

Plus, these are people living in 9-8 thousand BC, I don't really uh...know how to write their way of speech unfortunately, so I just tend to default to really formal. Over time though they will speak more casual though, Hagal himself is so far thanks to your choices a fairly casual diety and will grow moreso if you choose

'Let the god say swears!'

Yeah, that makes sense, just not my general style. Everyone has issues fall through, I just figured it was worth mentioning since you asked for criticism.

[ ] A field - Tall stalks of wheat and grass intersected by gentle streams, where the souls might walk about in peace.
[ ] Guardians - For every hyena that seeks to profit from despair, there is a selfless person who will keep the innocent safe.

Will all of these 'species' retain the core of Love that the original has, or will we have to worry about them becoming entirely separated if someone weren't to artificially trace back the connections?

I know I'm quite late on this, but are you going to set up a character {god?} sheet for Hagal now that the very beginner god stuff is now cemented?

Didn't we end up voting for Hope?
yup while it was also noted that we gave the girl love too (that's where the confusion probably comes from) qm definitely said and wrote that we took hope as our first domain.
He gave unto the girl the hope needed to keep moving, to push on despite the loss of such a key part of her life. She saw visions of her older self, all the things she would do to make her father proud, the things she would have to keep going in order to do. A smaller instinct within him then sent her a feeling of love, the love of her father who now rested with him. Images flashed through her mind, hugs, words of praise, bad jokes, hair being ruffled. The girl broke into tears again, however these ones were formed through happiness as much as they were from loss.

Did anyone else notice that since the Silver Light plan won and we have hope as a domain we are kind of like good Tzeentch?

if we take a transformation, trickery, magic and scheming domain maybe but nah, I don't see it as we are right now.
I think we should try to get portfolios that directly counter Portfolios of Chaos Gods excluding War. I mean we can not win in warhammer with hugs and Kisses after all. I think ordered warfare or industrialized warfare will be a better alternative against brute force warfare of Khorne.

eh I'd rather not ham string us like that just chasing whatever the opposite domain of the chaos gods are, but if you want to do that getting something like duty, bonds or peace to counter Khorne's warrior Martial Honour, three of his hatred related domains and his war Portfolio

Each aspect or portfolio impact personality of God. So a God with Peace portfolios will be like Gandhi aka not willing to fight and wish to solve everything in Peaceful manner. Such mindset is suicidal in warhammer.

we don't know how much every portfolio affects a god and considering its warhammer and trusting the qm not to pull something like that without at least warning us we probably won't turn into god gandi unless we take something like a pacifism domain.

Qm already said that each portfolio will change his personality and a domain like peace will impact humanity's capacity to war and survival.

again, we don't know how much each portfolio we take will change our god's personality and I highly doubt a god taking a domain will reduce humanity's capacities for that (big e is around the corner and will absolutely counter that if that's actually a thing either by doing his thing or by bitch slapping us until we stop a being dumb ass about it)
