The Firestorm: A crossover invasion game. Looking for a 40k faction player.

Oh don't be like that, our demon mountain dew is perfectly safe. Just look at our last satisfied customers
I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to be seeing here. Is this guy drinking tea or something? It's definitely not mead, and the dude doesn't seem smashed enough to properly wade into battle either.

I'm guessing it's one of those new-fangled herbal essences the old ladies whip up to fight severe frostbite.

Oh not just think of it like a combat drug that increases your fighting ability and also gives you the best high you've ever seen, there are next to no negative side effects I assure you and it's so good that once you start you will have trouble imagining your life without it.

We shall see just keep in mind that tech can only get you so far. You may think that the ocean keeps you safe.....but what will happen when the ocean itself turns against you?
Or you know, something picks them up. Something you can't see..

I'm going to cause people to go craz-

Wait. Im going with BloodBorne. Of course people are going to go crazy...

That depends though since this world is really crazy and with no Rom to hide you there is a chance they can see you. Also in terms of size your guys aren't really that big, plus if I remember correctly they (your big guys) aren't exactly the most skilled in combat, powerful but their moves tend to be more erratic in their movements.

They make up for that though..
As for Rom... Well.. We'll see..

Compendium of native Sapients part 3
Compendium of native sapients part 3.

Djinn: Elemental spirits who stand distinct from the elementals proper, the Djinn are beings of great magic, though only some can grant a truly reality altering wish rather than simply carrying out a command to the best of their abilities. The most well known are the Efreet, who appear as smokeless flames in the shape of men and women, beautiful to behold if ever so vaguely menacing as esoterical energy is tightly bound to their frames. However, Djinn for the other mystical elements can appear as well.

Dragons: The Eldest species of the sky, Dragons are a diverse and personality filled lot, ranging from tiny hatchlings to great wyrms who can crush cities. With bodies charged with esoterical energy and minds far keener than an Elf or a Human could claim to boast, Dragons are movers and shakers when they want to be, and even those who choose to be recluses are typically given wide berth. Many dragons have even taken the path of true godhood, to take the veneration they receive to the next level in the search of ineffable divinity. But even without the divine spark, the splendour and wealth available to a dragon is something to truly behold.

Grootslang: Creatures like the mixture of elephants and snakes and possessed of tremendous size, Grootslangs are the Eldest species of the land. Like dragons, they come in many varieties and shapes, and can go from being quite small as newborns to being mind bendingly enormous when fully grown. Some Grootslang are kindly and approachable, often wise rulers of nations of younger species, some are cruel tyrants, and some just want to watch the world burn. Any imaginable personality can be held by a Grootslang just as they can be held by a Dragon or other species. Grootslangs tend to congregate in herds more than Dragons, as their lack of flight makes it harder to congregate before they unlock powers of teleportation.

Kraken: The Eldest species of water, the Krakens combine the features of Natuloids, Lampreys, and just a bit of shark, Krakens start off as perhaps the smallest of the Elder Species but on the same hand can grow up to be perhaps the largest. Krakens are not seen too often by those who don't have too much business with the water, but in the oceans they rule. Krakens who decide to become tyrants are virtually unstoppable when they reach the proper size and age; their physical bodies and esoterics all but matchless beneath the waves, and those who decide to be forces for justice will surely see it done where their influence rules.

Anasni: The eldest species of the underground, Anasni take from the traits of spiders, though hints of the scorpion and centipede can also be found. Their passage through the underworld can create tunnels large enough to conduct air battles in, and they make sure that the underworld is maintained and new tunnels and caverns are created. The Anasni are among the least seen Eldest Species by surface dwellers, as they do not like to go above the underworld unless they need to, but they have acquired reputations as tricksters and tellers of stories; though one can find incredibly dour and serious Anasnis. However, with the power and age they have; it is very rare to find someone who does not respect one.

Anguiliarii: These eel like sapients prefer deeper waters or coral reefs, rarely venturing outside of these two biomes and being particularly unfond of kelp forests. They are well noted, and feared for the ability of a fully grown Anguiliarii to swallow a grown man whole in a single gulp and crush him into pulp with powerful muscular actions. Venturing as far down as the abyssal regions of the sea, the Anguiliarii don't particularly like fresh water, so avenues of contact with surface dwellers are limited under most circumstances, but the great empire of Nazakar spans an enormous and well travelled shipping lane, and the Empire demands a toll from all ships passing their waters, and with the aid of spells; they can venture onto land or into fresh water to punish those who avoid giving the Emperor his due.

Elves: Fractured into many successor species of the old rune elves, the Elves are bound together by some common phenotypical traits, a propensity towards height, ears coming to a point, more gracile features than humans, and very long natural life spans; though with healing magic being able to undo aging the last trait is of little importance. High Elves are relatively rare on Xaramazdik, for the simple reason that they generally don't have much business here; with Syresh being their largest concentration; and even that was founded by Wood Elves. Wood Elves are among the most common kinds of Elf here, and can be found across most of the world, and the dark magic twisted deathly pale and cruel Dark Elves cluster primarily under the Death Suns warband though many seek other places. Deep Elves have made their homes in the underworld and have gradually adjusted to the low light conditions there.

Ikrastropin: These turtle like sapients are found nearly anywhere that isn't outright permafrosted. With beaks with knife edges and serrations to allow for an omnivorous diet, they were widespread when the dragons first brought them to the planet and have only grown in number as the age of civilization began. Tough and hardy and standing at a generally robust four meters tall, Ikrastropins are generally not people who you want to tango with in a fight, as they have been known to smash open the skull of a troll in a single punch and their bites can make mincemeat out of an opponent. The state of Turgord, a constitutional monarchy and a premier maritime power; is the largest state founded and dominated by Ikrastropins.

Hm... New species for the Old Ones(and the Church) to dick around with if they manage to. Don't think they will though..

The Amygdala will probably be considered something like an Illithid monstrosity and the fish-kin look like an aquatic race that have been inbreeding for way too long.
I've been working to purge things like Illithids which are copyrighted elements of other settings.

Where's the "why are you here"?

Well, here we go.

Ravnican Pan-Guild Expedition

Why you are here: It's the Izzet's fault. As usual.

Once Niv Mizzet's finest ripped a hole into the fabric of reality, it took two hours before Dimir spies embedded in the project reported to Lazlav. Four hours later, all ten guilds had been informed, and House Dimir was contracting the construction of a new vault for all the wealth they had gathered.

Jace Beleren was then woken up after two hours sleep to host an emergency pan-guild summit

The Izzet wanted to do experiments with the workings of magic on another plane

The Simic wanted to capture any organisms they could find on the other side for their own experiments

The Grull and Selesnea representatives both demanded to be allowed to send an expeditionary force to secure the untamed wilderness on the far side of the portal.

The Orzov and Rakdos representatives wanted to find strange new people, prosteltyze them, sell them stuff, and then take their souls.

The Golgari weren't interested originally, but were hired by the other guilds to keep the expedition fed.

Then the Boros and Azorious representatives immediately sent expeditionary forces to maintain order among the rest of the guilds.

And somehow, the final draft of the proposal let House Dimir send a large force of personnel for unspecified reasons.

Though recognizing how easily this entire venture could fall apart, the Living Guildpact approved it, hoping that it could provided a way for the fractious guilds to focus their energies on something besides each other.

PERKS

City of Magic: Between the ten guilds of Ravnica you can find experts of every field of magic, practical or theoretical, light or dark. The faction has a very wide array of magical options and strategic level spells available, and even low level soldiers may have some knowledge of the magic arts.

Builders of the infinite city: Ravnica is an entire planet converted into a self sufficient city and it's sons and daughters carry the designs and knowledge that build their home with them. Bonus to construction speed of engineering projects and infrastructure.

Cosmopolitan: All races and creeds are accepted in the great melting pot of Ravnican society, angels, demons, giants, pixies, undead and elementals. Ravnica takes no penalties to espionage, diplomacy or trade due to differing biology or culture.

DETRIMENTS (suggested)

Mistrust: the expedition's armed forces are a hodgepodge from ten different militaries that are hesitant to work together. Military operations using forces from multiple guilds take sever command and organizational penalties

City of intrigue: Despite the efforts of the Boros legion and Azorious Senate, the level of criminal activity and spying in Ravnica continues unabated. Penalty to civic order, more vulnerable to espionage attempts, no differing culture/race penalties for espionage attempts.

One last detriment left to GM's discretion

Tentative army list

40 Atocthonian Wurms

200 War engines- greater elementals, massive war beasts, Wurms, greater dimir horrors

4000 beasts of war-Simic, golgari, Grull and Selesnya war beasts. Giants, trolls, ogres, and elementals

40,000 cavalry-Selesnya and Grull Centaurs, Selesnya, Orzov and Azorious knights, light war beasts

40,000 Elite infantry-Mages. Gorgons

800,000 Infantry-Selesnya, Boros, Azorius, Orzov infantry, Grull fighters, Rakdos fighters, Intelligent Simic Krasis, Izzet Weirds

2,400,000 Chaff infantry- Golgari, Rakdos and Dimir zombies, Selesnya saprolings, Boros goblins.

40 large Simic flying beasts

200 heavy aircraft-Boros angels, Orzov angels, Izzet dragons, Azorious sphinxes, rakdos demons

4000 light aircraft-selesnya Azorious and boros skyknights, Flying attack beasts

160 Heroes
Seems acceptable. Gonna pass you onto someone who actually knows MTG though.

Also just for reference this image shows the magic in Wow and how they relate to each other, I have access to most of them.

@Jebusman
There's only one issue on trading with Outer Heaven.
Your faction apparently hates pirates and my faction is practically that.
We don't have an actual national entity and we even steal stuff from foreign militaries though we don't tend to raid commerce vessels.
So depending on how flexible their views are really are the Diamond Sharks may not like Diamond Dogs/Outer Heaven at all.

My primary gripe with things as of now is that more than half of the players forgot to put down their locations.
Thus I have no way to position myself in a fun environment where I can interact with more players.

That is a very good point. Admittedly it's extremely likely that the Diamond Sharks would probably consider Outer Heaven to be Dezgra, unless it were to establish itself as a sort of national entity.

... Fish? Oysters? Clams? Lobster? Crab? Shark? And we are perfectly happy to live off the bounty of the sea, thank you. And we can adapt anything to water usage easily. Not much point in having it, if it can't handle a bit of water.

Arn't you actually near us, anyway? Like within a few dozen tiles.

Clearly we must ask you to bring us a Sea Fox of some sort, so that we may regain our old and true name. :p

As for location, we're on entirely different islands but we are both close to Frazan, interaction shouldn't be too difficult. (I meant to post this much earlier but my own wifi decided to screw me.)

We're about as close as spain is to russia, unless I got my maths wrong.

Alright I've decided to go with Rise of legends Vinci.

It's easter though so I probably won't be able to come up with a decent sheet at least until tuesday without help.

Hey Chimeragaurd wanna be allies?
