Eh a day, sometimes for really drastic votes people get scared and it takes a while for them to recover so it depends but 5 hours-a day should be good, 3 days for the big decisions.
Given the population of this quest, I can actually tell when to stop the voting itself.

We have like 12 people on a great day.

I'm talking about rolling.

If It's the afternoon, close it after an hour or two, even thirty minutes might be fine (or if no one wants to risk getting a bad roll, when they are good). If it's the middle of the day leave it open for more like 2-3 hours (or the same as above).

What's your definition of "middle of day" and "afternoon"
I asked for those rolls at like 3PM.
To me that's afternoon.

on super major stuff, give it about 36 hours. that way everyone has a chance to respond, but it isn't too long

The "D100 for "No real harm done" could have technically resulted in death if the given role was a critical miss.
Does that count as major?

Nah, not If it is just on a crit. If a failure would result in death, I would say you should give it around 4-6 hours (unless we already have good rolls, and no one wants to risk a worse one) or if it is the middle of night, I would suggest waiting till late morning, 10ish?

Got ya. *Nods*

Just curious, but what happens if we die? Do you restart/end the quest, reincarnate, revert to last update, etc?

I'd rather not divulge too much, but that depends on how you die.

If you die while in combat, the target that did the most damage to you will absorb you.
They'll then come back to life, and after they eventually die, awaken as a Death. Using your soul as a catalyst to get past all the requirements.
From that point on, you'll play as them.

If you die outside of combat? Really depends on how, but most likely? Game over.

If we die in combat, will picking a difficulty setting other than "don't pick this" be an option?

All 4 of the options were different mentors from the "Rookie Death Mentor Program."
So yes, a different difficulty could indeed be selected. As all four would again raffle it off for "who gets the next one."

I could legit have it a roll, but I feel having you pick is more appropriate.

Hmmm....

So if we wanted to be the ultimate munchkin, we'd have to find the most bad ass thing possible and throw ourselves at it?

Not that I'd vote for that.

Technically, although I appreciate more IC style votes. And if something was so OOC to be "let's kill ourselves for more future powaa!" I'd veto it so fast your head would spin.

Your next life stats will be more based on your current life stats actually.
See "Transmigration"
Though the killer itself does indeed matter.

If we absorb who we kill, I see lots of muderhobing in our future.

It's not a direct absorb, the soul still passes on. It's a very small absorb. I haven't gotten the numbers done yet, but I estimate probably around 1%.
...
You're a Death.
If you're not murderhoboing, you aren't doing it right.
Well, kind of. There will be existences you shouldn't kill.

Like for instance, Forgotten, and Rose. Not that you'd stand even a remote chance in hell against either of them as you are...

Yo, it's not too important. Obviously, as it has only just come up.

But like... what color is our MC's hair?
Style?

I mean, it's really not that important. Just flavor text.
