The Dragon Ascendant: NO SV: Welcome To Another Viserys Targaryen Quest (A Ck2 Quest)

Which Bonus will we have, and what can we do with Ray and Maribald... Are we picking them as High Septon/Faith counselors or it is just preliminary talks?
At the moment, it half willpower and learning.

That may change.
I wonder what exactly the Aztecs will be packing when they come here?
if you are not surprised by what they have, I am sorry, but then I have failed as a writer.

At the moment, it half willpower and learning.

That may change.
And about what we are doing with Ray and maribald?

Are we already picking one or just making the preliminary conversations?

And if we decide to channel Meagor this time, can we still get a one of those two as High septon or is that door closed forever, since we kind of went medieval on the asses on their parishioners?

Ans finally, can we make these two work together? They would probably get along like a house on fire and they can easily complement each other to make a better world...

These are just preliminary meetings or in the High Septons place…

We try to get him to fuck off and remind him we have dragons.

Ok, good to know, since it has just been confirmed that whatever we do won't be drastic enough to alienate Ray and Maribald, I will edit my previous plan to include The Most Devout...

We cannot allow an Inquisition to run Rampant in Westeros...

Edit: It's done

  • [X] Plan Debts, Business, Family, and Queensguard
    -[X] Diplomacy
--[X]The Riverlines of Rivermen: Lord Edmure Tully has, in a very uncomfortable showing of Force… Demanded that he and his entourage of men, come meet you, to discuss matters of the State, Matters that he claims have been neglected since Aegon the V. DC: 70 Reward: You meet Edmure and his men,
--[X]The Trading Contracts of The East: Robert was utterly fucking the Ream with his agreements to the Freee Cities, losing millions of Gold and Silver to the East, and saw nay a fucking copper for the trouble back. You need to begin to renegotiate those trade deals. DC: 80 Reward: You begin to renegotiate the contracts that Westeros is in. (10,000 DR)
    -[X] Martial
--[X] A Gold Standard: The City Watch is poorly equipped, poorly trained, and you're as likely to find an extortionist as you are a good man in the uniform. Bywater would like your permission (and the aid of the Master of War) to clean house, get proper men, proper equipment and proper training. DC 60. Reward: increase quality of the Gold Cloaks to Trained/Full Strength. (15,000 Dr) (locks for 2 rounds)
    -[X] Stewardship.
--[X] Renegotiate Debts (The Westerlands): The Usurper left the realm in perilous financial states, and one way to amend this is to renegotiate the terms of the loan for the Westerlands. Lord Tyrion is a good man, according to Jaime… but also a shrewd man, and despite his stature, he is very much a political master. And a drunk. Either way, it's going to be a good time. DC 65. Reward: possibly renegotiate interest rate and/or repayment schedule. (10,000 Dr)
--[X] Nests Within Nests: You can't tell much, given the state of recordkeeping towards the end and the nature of those involved, but you do at least know that Petyr Baelish had a bizarre web of influence and ownerships, the boundaries of which even you couldn't begin to guess at. You'll task Ser Harry with trying to disentangle this Meereenese knot. DC 90. Reward: Baelish's 'ledger' becomes comprehensible, a more complete picture of finances and assets gained. (7,500 Dr) (locks for two rounds)
    -[X]Intrigue
--[X] Sins of the Father: Your father's last mad plan never came to fruition, but it left a lot of wildfire scattered around the city, and Jaime doesn't know the locations of all the caches. You'll start trying to quietly track down a paper trail or anyone who knows of something strange. DC 75. Reward: locate the lost wildfire caches. (5,000 Dr) (This project must succeed 3 times to be completed)
--[X] The Lonely Dragons: At the moment, the entirety of House Targaryen consists of you and your infant child, your sister, and your nephew. Is it possible that there's more family out there? Your father and brother may have had bastards, and who knows how many female relatives married into other families? Your knowledge of your family tree is woefully incomplete, and you would know more. DC 50/75/100. Reward: learn more about the branches of the Targaryen family, ??? (15,000 Dr)
    -[X] Learning
--[X]The Press of Printing: The Citidel lay claim to something that they say will, revolutionize the world and the advancement of Knowledge and Security of the Citadel as an Instatution. But of course you need…to see it for yourself. DC: 65, Reward: You learn of this Lettering Press and see it for yourself. And it's creator. (2,000 DR)
--[X]Healing the Sick, and Other signs of Godliness: There is, at least after traveling the Free Cities, a disturbing lack of health in the City of King's Landing, and perhaps, everywhere in Westeros. Why is blazes is this health crisis not made another Summer of Pox, like the Great Spring Sickness! DC: 75 Reward: You look into a great problem in Westeros, a public health crisis and how it can be minigated. (1,000 DR)
    -[X] Faith:
--[X]His Flock: There is another Rumor, of a septon and his flocking building a Sept. They are a hardy group of people, people who are good, and just. The Brother, a man called Ray, wishes only to help his people, and his Flock, and live his life in a way that worthy to the Gods. They say he is a good man. They also say, he's funny as the Seven Hells. DC: 50 Reward: You meet Septon (brother, he considers himself a humble brother) Ray.
    -[X] Personal (Pick Two)
--[X] A New Throne: You want to destroy the remainder of that blasted throne and make it more… fitting for you. Perhaps you may try to make a new one. DC: ??? Reward: Create a new Throne, and maybe infuse it with Magic.
--[X]The Youngest Dragon: You have not been able to spend a great deal of time with Daeron as you wanted to. You want to spend time with your son. And be the man, the father… you wished you had. DC: 0 Reward; You are the Father to a son you never want to lose.
--[X]Try for More Children: Arianne is almost eager to throw herself at you again that you wonder if Pregnancy has somehow made her, not only more beautiful but also more… well-wishing to spend more times in the royal bed-chamber, doing royal duties. DC 0 Reward: You and Arianne, try to expand the family a bit.
    -[X] Daenerys Targaryen
--[X]The Dragon and the Lion: Your sister has been spending quite a bit of time with Lord Tywin Lannister. This would not be unusual if it were not for the fact that you do not trust Lord Tywin at all in any way… whatsoever. But she wished to learn Politics from the Best, and there is no one better, than Lord Tywin Lannister. DC: 60 Reward: Dany and Tywin learn from one another. And you cringe at how much Dany, Arya and Tywin complement each other.
    [X]Aegon Targaryen
--[X]The Case of a Dragon, and a City: You are starting to think that whenever it comes to the second in line of the Iron Throne, and in this city, you start to think that things will go mad. Like there are reports of a man in armor, jumping around at night, beating up criminals. Egg, do you know anything about this? DC: 40 Reward: You send Egg to investigate this strange occurrence.
    -[X] Garret of Saltpans
--[X] Settling Accounts: Once upon a time, you had to flee your home in Braavos, thanks to the amorality of the servant's Ser Willem Darry had hired. You are very much now in a position to reclaim what was lost (as can be, anyhow) and to have Garret exact some petty revenge. It would be unbecoming for a King of Westeros to stoop so low, but hey – that's what Tigaros is for. Intrigue, DC 35. Reward: reclaimed items lost from Ser Willem's home, sweet sweet vengeance, ??? (5,000 Dr)
    -[X] The Kingsguard
--[X] Brothers and Sisters: It has not escaped notice that an informal Queensguard has coalesced around your wife, Arianne. You will formalize this arrangement, and work with Ser Jaime to smooth over whatever vocal objections arise to armed women being legitimized by the Crown. Diplomacy, DC 75 (Jaime & Viserys). Reward: Queensguard established, some traditionalist feathers ruffled (unlocks future vote bloc to recruit members)
    -[X] The Sand Snakes
--[X] Task them to Arianne full-time (lowers DC of Brothers and Sisters by 15)
    -[X] Arianne Martell
--[X]Another in the Chamber: Arianne looked quite ready to scream when you saw her and Teyne. Well not exactly surprising, but seeing the two of them nacked, and Teyne quite eagerly attacked to your wives… No there is no need to go there in detail, despite you seeing it happen before, with other women. But you were very surprised nonetheless. Mostly for the lack of warning, and tact. DC: 20 Reward: You and Arianne talk to each other about, adding another into this relationship. Especially because King's Landing isn't Dorne, and not everyone has good memories of a King having a mistress. The name Blackfyre gets thrown around quite a bit when that happens.
    -[X]Jacelyn Bywater:
--[X]The Boys in Gold: These boys are nothing but up jumped citizens and stableboys, men who are not trained for this kind of work. But they do good work anyway, whatever the price. DC: 0 Reward: You hear the Reports of the Men in Gold, and how they fight scum in the city, and maybe find one man who can help.
    -[X] Sandor Clegane:
--[X]All The King's Men: Sandor, help the Kingsguard for a bit, I am in need of all the swords I can get. (Add a +10 to all Kingsguard Action.)
[X] Plan Meetings, Debts, and Dealing with Problems.
[X]The Riverlines of Rivermen: Lord Edmure Tully has, in a very uncomfortable showing of Force… Demanded that he and his entourage of men, come meet you, to discuss matters of the State, Matters that he claims have been neglected since Aegon the V. DC: 70 Reward: You meet Edmure and his men,
[X]The Trading Contracts of The East: Robert was utterly fucking the Ream with his agreements to the Freee Cities, losing millions of Gold and Silver to the East, and saw nay a fucking copper for the trouble back. You need to begin to renegotiate those trade deals. DC: 80 Reward: You begin to renegotiate the contracts that Westeros is in. (10,000 DR)
[X]The Watchers of the Sea: There have been reports. Troubling reports that the long-standing slave Trade that had once revved Westeros shores are making a return in force, for the first time in three hundred years. Hundreds of Ships are prowling, waiting to take cargo away from your lands, and back to Slavers bay, or worse, to the warring nations of Essos. Lord Stannis has requested a great budget increase, to allow the ships to patrol the narrow sea, and to stop any ship flying Slaver colors. DC: 65 Reward: You begin a campaign of Sea Born protection across the Narrow Sea Coastline, to protect your people and your property.
[X] Renegotiate Debts (The Westerlands): The Usurper left the realm in perilous financial states, and one way to amend this is to renegotiate the terms of the loan for the Westerlands. Lord Tyrion is a good man, according to Jaime… but also a shrewd man, and despite his stature, he is very much a political master. And a drunk. Either way, it's going to be a good time. DC 65. Reward: possibly renegotiate interest rate and/or repayment schedule. (10,000 Dr)
[X] Nests Within Nests: You can't tell much, given the state of recordkeeping towards the end and the nature of those involved, but you do at least know that Petyr Baelish had a bizarre web of influence and ownerships, the boundaries of which even you couldn't begin to guess at. You'll task Ser Harry with trying to disentangle this Meereenese knot. DC 90. Reward: Baelish's 'ledger' becomes comprehensible, a more complete picture of finances and assets gained. (7,500 Dr) (locks for two rounds)
[X] Little Fingers, Large Shadows: The only remaining member of Robert's Small Council at large, former Master of Whispers Petyr Baelish has somehow vanished from the world. This cannot be. You'll find him somehow, someday. You'll start by tracing his past, his movements and his dealings. No one can just disappear, he has to have left some kind of trail. DC 80. Reward: begin gaining information about Baelish, his assets and his disappearance. (10,000 Dr)
[X] The Lonely Dragons: At the moment, the entirety of House Targaryen consists of you and your infant child, your sister, and your nephew. (15,000 Dr)
[X] Silence Lay Steadily Against the Wood and Stone: You know hardly anything about Summerhall, one of the darkest marks in your family's long and checkered history in Westeros. Your brother went there often, but spoke nothing of it; your father wouldn't hear the name in his presence; your mother wept at the very thought of it. Perhaps an impartial third party, an observer like the Grand Maester, can give you the salient details – what the buildup was, what if anything went wrong, anything you don't know but should. DC 75. Reward: information about Summerhall, ??? (7,500 Dr)
[X]Healing the Sick, and Other signs of Godliness: There is, at least after traveling the Free Cities, a disturbing lack of health in the City of King's Landing, and perhaps, everywhere in Westeros. Why is blazes is this health crisis not made another Summer of Pox, like the Great Spring Sickness! DC: 75 Reward: You look into a great problem in Westeros, a public health crisis and how it can be minigated. (1,000 DR)
[X]The Most Devout: The High Septon is not in King's Landing, as he fled to Old Town whne your invasion and restoration came, and has been operating there for the last two years. You now wish to remind him, that while there was a civil war, there is a King now. One who is not very happy with the current state of affairs here in the Faith. You need to remind him, that things are different now. Very… Different. DC: 70 Reward: You decide to put the Fear of the Seven into them. Maegor the Cruel would be proud of you.
[X] A New Throne: You want to destroy the remainder of that blasted throne and make it more… fitting for you. Perhaps you may try to make a new one. DC: ??? Reward: Create a new Throne, and maybe infuse it with Magic.
[X]The Youngest Dragon: You have not been able to spend a great deal of time with Daeron as you wanted to. You want to spend time with your son. And be the man, the father… you wished you had. DC: 0 Reward; You are the Father to a son you never want to lose.
[X] Beyond the Veil: You have little to no control over your visions. You would like to try and improve upon this. Maybe the Grand Maester knows something, maybe someone wrote on this once, anything – you need guidance. Willpower, DC 50. Reward: may unlock Seer traits, other options (Free)
[X]The Dragon and the Lion: Your sister has been spending quite a bit of time with Lord Tywin Lannister.
[X] Along the Nascent Echo: Summerhall sits long ruined, a scar on the Stormlands and a sobering reminder of your house's fragility and fallibility. Aegon has some curiosity about the place, given his father's connection to it, and he's dreamed of visiting it sometime. Reward: ??? (2,500 Dr)
[X] Settling Accounts: Once upon a time, you had to flee your home in Braavos, thanks to the amorality of the servant's Ser Willem Darry had hired. (5,000 Dr)
[X]The Old Hands: Jaime may be the hand, but between him and the other older members, they are a wave of experience for you and your guard. In saying that, what the hell did they do to that bandit camp outside the city!? DC: 45 Reward: The Old heads needed to blow off some steam, and for good reason.
[X]The Wild Wolf Come again: So, Arya Stark has been following the young Sand Snakes around like a little puppy. Why is that? DC: 15 Reward: You see what is the deal with Arya Stark?
[X]The Prince and the Sun: Doran Martell, your GoodFather, wishes to sail North, to see his grandson, and hopefully, speak to you about the future, and the Family that you may wish to have. DC: 10 Reward: You and Doran meet again, at long last, and you feel as though, despite his wish for a truly fortuitous meeting, something bothers him. Especially with his lady wife not accompanying him.
[X]The Streets of Justice: Bywater and his boys are going to be cleaning up the Streets, one street at a time. They are going to be out in force. DC 60 Reward: The City Watch begin to strike back at the Gang Violence in the city, and there will be blood.
[X]The Death of Gregor Clegane: He will die. And Sandor will swing the Sword. DC: 0 Reward: The Mountian is Dead. Thank the Gods.

I hope the have something different from dragons. Thats every fics anwser to how the opposition can be a threat.
To be clear, when I say 'Aztec Dragons', I don't mean just Copies of our own, but a Mesoamerican Version. You know, beings who look more like their Historical Counterparts Feathered Serpents and have Abilities other then breathing Fire.

So any more questions or comments on the quest?

And I do need to say this: For two rolls on the turn, there will be no roll bonuses that will be put on due to your bitchslapping of Essosi Diplomats.

Dammit, I did not know that getting massive critical successes could work against us...

Let me guess which rolls would be the ones without bonus @Magoose []The Trading Contracts of The East and []The Rogare Connections...

And if those actions are not the ones affected, please tell me which ones are.

And for the people who have voted for my plan, in the case that the QM confirms that []The Trading Contracts of The East, doesn´t have any bonus this turn, I am going to change that action for another one, my preference for [] Befriending the Banners, but if you think that we should take another diplomatic action I will listen

Even then, just in case I am not taking the options that explicitly take place on Essos

So any more questions about the world itself?

How much I have changed a few things and you all want to know.

So any more questions about the world itself?

Well, I would love to know about it... But after seeing how much have have changed in major ways in just a few turns it is difficult to know what to ask...

So can you give us a clue about what should we ask?

You can ask about how magic works...

Or how Alesander's crusade has affected Essosi politics.
I mean, the first one seems like a spoiler Alert, and we should pick about the "higher mysteries" to learn...

And what kind of magic? Because I doubt that the Northern Magic (Greenseers, Wargs, Weidwoods...) works similarly to the ome from the Red God (fire visions, resurrections...), to the Old Valyrian Magic.
Or how Alesander's crusade has affected Essosi politics.
That one seems relatively easy... The destruction of the Dothraki Hordes has eliminated the only enemy in Essos that posed a real threat to the Free Cities (besides another Free City), the void that the Dothraki have left has caused a war between the Free Cities, BUT since Alesander hired most of the mercenaries in Essos (besides the Golden Company which was hired by us) which those Cities hired for protection and war, the Free Cities are being extremely clumsy from a military point of view.

Or am I missing soemthing?

True.

All I shall say, is that because of your actions, Magic is more... accessible to people.

And far more dangerous.

Yes.

Remember that he dropped off the face of the earth.

Meaning that, most of the free cities are now not only without military power, are also really not that wealthy anymore, due to paying him untold millions in gold to destroy the hoards.

Meaning... a lot of cities are near bankrupt.

Yeah, something about fighting Evil like the Black Company...

Can you tell us which specific evil they are fighting against?

Well, he has delivered on his promises...

They paid him to destroy the Dothraki and he has not only defeated them but annihilated them entirely...

It is not like he took the money and ran away to the Summer Islands

The kind that usually aren't that evil, but just want to enslave all of humanity, that sort of thing.

Problem is, they were planning on backstabbing him and well... whoever got his shit first would be the most powerful free city on the continent, able to dictate policy for the next century.

Without that?

They fucked.
