@Kharn_Valnikov

Killing Intent as a Trait feels like it might be hard to call upon or for me to suggest as valid or not. Does that mean enemies will be...compelled to fight one another? Do they fight worse because they're no longer disciplined? How does it work?

I'll say that as a weakness it's also at odds with Humble, because Humble seems like a good social trait, and social Traits are good for flavor or nonstandard encounters.

There's also the matter of your one Edge power, which I'm unsure of via its implementation. Is it a reroll? Are you looking for free dice, or free Yin or Yang points? Is it something different entirely?
For the Edge power I'd like for it to be a re-roll, though it can only be done once in an encounter. Also I was thinking that the Killing intent gave her enemies fear, made it harder for them to work together when chain axes are about to rip them apart. Though if that doesn't really work I'll just remove the positive one.

Yeah, what you really gotta remember is that when you're rolling, it's only the Trait you're using the most in an action that's going to be counted. Make sure you have a spread that's good for dealing with most things so you can be strong in places others might not be.

@SplicedHunter

Awesome. Just add that in and you'll get your Threadmark.

Let's say I have an Edge where Alex traps an enemy within a barrier, and attempts to collapse said barrier while the enemy is inside. What would be its mechanical effects?

First off, you are correct about your starting trouble - this is just meant to be something to get you used to the idea of rolling for things the way we'll be in this game, and that means this should be something you can knock off after rolling, like, five successes. If you pick the right pool and roll well, it should barely be a speed bump for your character. Use it to style on some foos of your own creation and be awesome.
Ok. Well, then, tell me if this works.

It is the night before the day when Marie Stoff is scheduled to go to the place between dimensions where all the other magical girls are going to be meeting, and she is frantically trying to clean up all the more blatant messes around her home town of Noneofyourbusiness, USA, so that she doesn't have to worry that something's going to explode while she's gone. So far, her progress has been... surprisingly smooth, but this last incident is promising to be a doozy.

Her highschool's almost stereotypical queen bee, Angeline Edgewaters, has apparently gotten her hands on a book full of defunct magical rituals that might, perhaps, not be quite so defunct, and she intends to use one to enthrall the subject of her crush, Maxwell Nertshepard, the captain of the football team, and-- oh, who is she kidding, this is straight out of a Hollywood Episode. Where's she in this cliche'd script? Well, it turns out Angeline doesn't believe she has more than one friend willing to go along with her in this craziness (Merigold Polato. Everybody calls her chips behind her back, because her name sounds kind of like potato), so she turned to somebody who looked like they'd be up for a bit of ritualistic witch magic to complete her trio; namely, Marie. Marie has honestly no idea how Angeline got it into her head that she has any interest in the occult, she turned her robe inside out and everything when she wears it as a normal person, but agreed to help her out just this once, because it sounded fun (and because she didn't really want her to pull this off, because forcing to people to love you is wrong, which means she's a secret agent magical girl out to secretly sabotage the ritual, and isn't that cool?).

As it turns out, Marie actually knows a bunch about these rituals, so she's pretty sure she also knows how to mess them up without being obvious about it, so that's what she's going for. If she doesn't mess with it well enough, she might have to resort to just tripping on something, but Angeline and Merigold are fairly nice, so she's sure they'll forgive her. She's got Maxwell waiting outside the gymnasium where they're holding the ritual (for some ineffable reason the school will probably just let them get away with it, and not even make them apologize to the janitor or anything), so that when they leave the building he can run up to her and confess and convince her that the magic worked, because it turns out he liked her anyway and why not. She'll just secretly swoosh the book back to her magical hut while Angeline is freaking out.

Maybe what that could work like is...ah, I've got it.

Kind of follows the immobilization rules where however many Yang dice were committed become a Mooklike obstacle to overcome, but the difference is that the you can attack again with however many successes you scored the first time around stored as free dice. Basically, because the attack is unavoidable, it's very hard to break out of and hurts like hell once used. Maybe if it costs Edge to use, you get to make a move like that, and upon successfully executing all these steps, it does another Chi point of damage. Fair?

Huh, just realized, Ruby I'm coming for your throne, Better start running, eh reaper?

Throne? What throne?

Sounds good.

@Hoshino Yumemi - By the way, can I use Traits as buff/debuff without an Edge? For example, let's say I sit down and use Genius to draw up a plan of attack, how would that be reflected mechanically?

@DexTraxWex

I take it your backstory is that you're basically trying to be a master ninja to...by suggesting it's an act of justice, make the system from wherever you're from better, right? That'd be solid.

I also take Gotta Go Fast to mean you get two more dice for an Edge point, and My Eyes Are Stronger allows you to yank away two dice from an opponent?
I meant like you roll a 4 then it would be 2 instead for one Edge point or add up to 6 if I rolled a 4. Taking away dice seems like I'd need to allocate more than one point as that seems powerful. Unless taking away dice is common...

Not very common; everyone prefers to add dice more. That's why i thought your Edge power followed suit.

The use I see for @Xalgeon with that first Edge is a free way to block anyone else's Weaknesses from triggering. I choose to play it by ear first and if it gets too much use, we'll scale it back a bit.

That makes sense.

Also, what's with the prompt things some people have been writing?

My lineup of edges now looks like this:

Edges:
- I Repel: She can shield allies by giving Yin points to them, or she could use an Edge point to negate the loss of Chi for the entire team.
- I Recover: She can spend an Edge point to heal 2 Chi, which can be applied to herself or an ally. Alternatively, she could spend two Edge points to heal the entire team's Chi by 1.
- I Restrain: Shields can keep things out, but they can also keep things in. By using one Edge point, she can trap an enemy within a barrier and collapse it on them. The barrier is treated as a Mook, with a Threat Level equal to the number of Yang points committed. All the enemy's attacks can only target the barrier. Plus, this allows her to attack again, using the same number of successes. This can potentially allow her to damage an opponent's Chi twice.

That makes sense.

You know how you start a video game and you get a snippy little tutorial level with everything mostly choreographed?

We're supposed to make our own and hand them to the GM so we can get used to the system, I think.

@Hoshino Yumemi

Question: If the bare minimum for a Trait is 5 and 4 is considered a non-Trait, how many Trait Points would a Weakness of 3 add? 1 or 2?

@Hoshino Yumemi

Hey, sorry to bother you again, but could you look over this submission?

Name: Silvia Ross, The Plague Orchid
Bio: Silvia is the reincarnation of the first Saryn, a Tenno, a posthuman warrior of an age long gone by. This came as quite a surpise to her, because as far as she knew, she was just a relatively normal girl with an unhealthy interest in HEMA and MMA. She denied it at first, but she couldn't after the decaying necrotic Grineer hordes came after her normal life.

After slaughtering the first few hordes, she eventually linked up with the rest of the Tenno and proceeded to learn about their past with the Orokin and kill the Grineer Queens. But then, the dying Red Queen revealed a terrible truth. That the mysterious Benefactors helped them tear down the Orokin.

Traits (Spent 8, total 7 with the weakness)
Poison Person: Silvia's powers come from poison, which she uses in combat, coating her weapons or firing it in spore-darts 'grown' in her armor/skin. However, to affect a target, Silvia has to beat the target's Yin score first. When affected, the Target looses either a single Yin or Yang point for the next turn. (8)

Weapons Master: Siliva has unparalleled skill with every weapon, including bare fists. Except for sword. Excalibur covers that. (8)

Sadist: Silvia miiiight enjoy the pain of her enemies a biit too much. But hey, everyone has their little flaws. (4)

Big Sister!: Okay, so she's a sadist. Alright, so that doesn't preclude her from being a pretty chill person to be around. (7)
Edges
Molt: By spending an Edge Point, Silvia creates a temporary, immobile duplicate of her, which explodes into toxic gas when destroyed.

Fungal Digestion: By spending an Edge Point, Silvia makes a target already affected by her Poison a health caddy. If her or her teammates successfully wound the target, they gain a single Chi point back, as well as a bonus Yang point in the next round.

Naramon: If Silvia beats the Yin score of her opponent by at least two and spends an Edge Point, then she becomes invisible for the next turn.

Chi: 4

Current Edge Score: 0/5

I'm seriously resisting the urge to just remake the "Yellow" RWBY trailer. I could use some alternate suggestion...
