You are being confused by the "gun" term. It's too wide and vague. She is limited to vehicle-mountable weapons. That means no pistols or rifles.

She could build a naval 5inch gun, as it's designed to be mounted in a vehicle, a ship. I think she could build an M2 Browning machine gun or equivalent in an AA or airplane mount, and maybe something resembling a technical, but that would be pushing it. Of course, most likely she's not limited to mere "antique" firearms, and most likely her shard would happily provide her with something more exotic and efficient, like a Gauss or Laser point defense gun, which most likely will not work unless it's mounted in a vehicle.

I also guess that Squealer learned long ago to be very specific on what she wanted, unless she got flooded with a mountain of blueprints. I doubt Vectura will be repeating that mistake.
In technical terms a gun is transportation tech. It's used to transport bullets from point a: the weapon you're using, to point b: the person you want taken care of. Any vehicle you attach a weapon to is just transportation for the transportation device. :V Mr. Author, would you weigh in on this please? It's your call in this AU.
Edit: can't find if this limit was determined or not.

Vectura has managed to quite happily invent and produce tools that are addons for her various transportation systems. One of them is a device for nailing railway ties down by firing railway spikes into them. It is of course a rail gun. You have to be very careful to make sure never to wind it up past a couple of percent of full power and/or aim it at people, as it would be a health hazard ;)

She's careful like that, you see. OSHA is serious business...

If you are looking for something else to read, and don't mind a different fandom, try over at tthfanfics dot org. Anything by Diane Castle. Great stuff!

Good slice of life fics w/Alex Mack.

@mp3.1415player One potential nickname for Alexandria: Duo. In a bit of meta-humor, Duo has two lines of supporting logic:
  1. "Alexandria", the name, can be taken as "Alex and Ria" if you just add a few spaces. Alex and Ria are presumably two people, a Duo.
  2. Alexandria and Director Costa-Brown are, questionably-legally, the same person. So she has a Duo of important positions/identities.
(I'm definitely behind on this story, so my apologies if someone's already suggested it.)

Don't forget the RCB body double for when RCB and Alexandria have to be in the same room together.

@Kryslin , I didn't link it on purpose. Some of the content on that site is majorly against the rules here. Like QQ. Sorry.

Diane Castle's stuff is G to PG rated, tho.

If that was Twisting the Hellmouth, you need to register to read the NSFW material, so it should be perfectly ok to link to them.Or I hope, because I've been linking to them for years when recommending fics...

If you don't register, you need to click through to set the rating level high enough to read those fics.

If you only link to SFW material, then you're probably okay.

I am not a mod, your mileage may vary, offer void in Delaware and Quebec.

And in the spirit of Shenanigans, where is Mouse Protector in this story? I don't remember if she's been mentioned.
We can only hope not, since the S9 suffered an 87.5% manpower depletion back in early February.
She was mentioned in-story well after the destruction of the S9.

The abrupt thought of Mouse Protector turning up and getting involved made her shudder again, think longingly of the bottle of good whiskey in the cupboard at home, then dive into the next report and try to push the horrible thought out of her mind with boring minutiae about mandatory firearm certification assessments for PRT troopers.

Since it was suggested that the SFW stuff is safe to link,
TtH • Series • A Brane of Extraordinary Women is the series that starts the Terrawatt stuff, with MANY authors jumping into the bandwagon, with OPs permission and encouragement.

I think that with all of the stories and side-stories that have been written, the volume of work almost rivals Taylor Varga.

One warning. Almost every fandom is included in this Universe. Within the rules of the Universe (No Magic, chemical-induced powers, etc.)

If that's not your cup of tea, give it a pass.

Wait, every fandom? Does that mean I can have that Biker Mice from Worm crossover I always dreamed of?

My own little-remembered guilty pleasure is a gem from the 80's called "Voyagers!" (with an exclamation point).

Time travel error-correction shenanigans.

Side note: Jon-Erik Hexum, the lead of the show, wins the award for dumbest way to die. He was fooling around with a gun on-set (another production) that was filled with blanks...put the barrel to his head & pulled the trigger. The concussion from the shot basically shattered his skull.

Remember kids, guns are dangerous. They are NOT toys!

Blanks kill a surprisingly large number of people. It's like they use explosives or something.

Observes homoerotic series cover decides not to go there.

sort of. It's called a 'brane' because there are actually several universe involved, in some magic works in others it doesn't, in some alien mice are quite possible, in others there's no aliens, etc.

The Primary universes are: Harry Potter, Stargate SG-1, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, 6 million dollar man/Bionic Woman, a DC variant (specificly the Cat-Tales fanfic series by Chris Dee), and The Secret World of Alex Mack. Marvel is fictional across all the realities. A few other universes have been added over time, such as the Wick-verse, which also features elements from the movie Wanted, the Hitman series and other shoot-em ups)

After the initial cross-dimensional events, the main characters go back to their homes and look up the local versions of the people they met. The Alex Mack verse/Tera-vese has no magic and so far no indication of intelligent alien life, but it's natural laws do seem inclined to support super powers and 'weird science', and the author has mined dozens of old B-movies for monsters/threats. In the tera-verse Hogwarts is a school for superspies, with Harry Potter's dad having been a former Double Oh (not 007, but one of the others IIRC)

many secondary/terciary sources are blended into 1 or more of the worlds. For example, The Bionic-verse has also grown to incorporate Knight Rider, with Faith Lehane (from Buffy) working for the Knight Foundation.

Oddly, there was none of that. Or at least none that was obvious to an 11-year-old at the time.

"Bogg" was a "manly man" in the storied tradition of James T Kirk...right along with overplayed feats of prowess, frequent display of chest hair (yeah, I know...not Kirk very often...but he was portrayed in the 60's, when you could get away with a lot less), wooing anyone in a skirt, etc.

A better reason not to go there would be the terrible acting in the show.

It was fun when I was twelve, though it was certainly geared towards early 80's 12-year-olds. I'm certain it hasn't aged well.

The one episode that's always stuck out in my mind is the one where the heroes lose Cleopatra in Prohibition-era New York and when they finally track her down she's on her way to taking over the local mafia.

Question is, through her looks/sex appeal or through being a brilliant political operator? Because if the former, it's just uncritically buying in to centuries of Roman propaganda, while if the latter it's more true to the actual Cleopatra than many serious historical analyses.

It's been literal decades since I saw that show, but from what I recall.... Both, in that her political brilliance saw her using her looks as a tool, but hardly the only one available to her.

Huh. Sounds like it was somewhat ahead of it's time in reasonably accurately depicting her, then, as that is more-or-less accurate AFAIK.
