Distance Taylor doesn't have to fight at all, between the Department of Defense and her not-very-subtle security detail.
There is a difference between having bodyguards and knowing how to fight if you somehow find yourself without these bodyguards.
Granted, Distance Taylor can cheat with her phone collection. She has a stealth field, and there is probably a lasercutter in there. Or power tools.

Given that her "bodyguards" include QA and Relay Node №3, "find yourself without these bodyguards" is tricky to achieve :)
Not that it can't happen; see the Stargate omakes.

Hey now, the security detail is very subtle. They blend into the neighborhood nearly perfectly.
...
Okay, so they blend in because 99.99% of the neighborhood is the security detail. But they still blend in.
And how many times has she mentioned 'the security detail they don't think I know about?'

While, again, I can't see Taylor making a death-ray phone, I'm almost certain she has a gravitational shear field system to go with the visual and auditory stealth modules.

Taylor is, quite literally, the Smartest Person in the World. She's giving her results to DARPA. Of Course she knows there is going to be a security detail; she's not an idiot. And of course she's picking out the new residents as said security detail, since people have been mostly moving out of Brockton Bay for so long that there is a LOT of affordable housing in much nicer parts of town. This makes the main attraction to new residents the convenience of being in a good position to act as her security detail....

The true measure is that people that don't know Taylor's importance don't realize the security detail is there. This shows they are quite subtle in their own way.

I'm beginning to think we need an MP-Pi Player story discussion thread, because this one has managed to collect commentary about 4-5 other stories by our esteemed author. I wouldn't be surprised if one already existed...

In my defense, I had opened tabs for all of the stories I watch that had alerts for updates, and when replying to a comment didn't realize we were in the wrong thread....

I mean, this is great, but your conclusions are based on a flawed premise and are therefore all wrong.
Yeah, checking how much word output went to other stories (and rate at which he produces new stories/omake lines) would probably ease getting something closer to a real prediction. In theory that would show up already in the effects on this story's word output, but…more statistical analysis than idle fun with numbers while being sick.
Also, I think it should only include chapters and O'Make written by the author, not including canonized guest additions.
Yeah. There were very few of those, though and low in wordcount, maybe a couple thousand out of two million words, and as the global words/day was reached by dividing total words by total days …er, days from first up to the last story post, that's only a ‰ or two.

Speaking of armchair fun statistics,
Ceilin lizard smiles
Readers wait patiently now
Wordz eventually
56 days, 17 words, 0.16 words/day; this leaves the pessimal (provided he doesn't shoot beyond even this mark/intentionally troll) at 26 Aug 2021 with 14.46 words.

I predict the next story post will consist of -5,000 words. Yes, I predict the next story post will take the word count into the negatives while still adding content and without removing content. How? I couldn't tell you, but our illustrious Author will find a way.

Based upon no evidence whatsoever I predict that no story post will be posted June 8th between 0800-1000 Zulu.

While common, seasons aren't required, at least in the English version of haiku. It's all about syllables here. The heavy use of seasons in the Japanese style is helped along by the number of words they have for them, and all the ways those words can be modified. English is too syntaxically simplistic to really do the form justice.
I disagree. We should call them senryuu, since that's the same syllable form without the seasonal reference and cutting word requirements.

BINGED!

That one took a while, longest yet. Little under 4 days to blaze through it.

This was fantastic. I loved the hell out of, and at 300 chapters I could spend 10,000 of my own works commenting on every bit of it. Nobody cares that much though, so instead I'll just say the two biggest things that stuck with me even over the entire thing.

First, as I mentioned after binging the Bolo crossover, the character interactions are first rate, especially scenes involving shenanigans. They are a treat to read, and one of the reasons I was able to rip through it so fast. It's compelling enough that I can happily sit here and read this from waking up to passing out, and did just that. More than once.

Second, and I mean this as praise, but I'm not sure how else to word it. Those first couple of Squealer chapters were, hard to read.

It left an impression.

.....

Now I need something else to read. And yes, I've already cleaned out @mp3.1415player s signature block.

Just for completeness sake - have you read the {Sidestory}s?

This. There's so much in there, a crapload of really good stuff. ^^ Including how Hermione (of Harry Potter) wound up working for the lizards.
