And we will find our nice stone walls held by our enemies, without a lot of good loot we wont be able to conviece enough help to dislodge them, (IF ONLY THIER WAS A LOOT BOX CLOSE WE COULD HIT BEFORE GOING HOME)
Thats delusional, if they have our walls we Lose, Full Stop. We pack our bags and use our professional army to raid a village of their women and go else where.

whelp time to head home, and then go kill broken shell and his little place.

in fact for now on NO MORE FREINDS IN THE PLAINS. if those assholes come to us again we burn them. plain and simple, no more mercy or respite. they made a enemy of the thread, and we don't exactly let enemies live in the long term.

The issue remains close. However, there will be ample time to reach consensus here. I'm just enjoying the fast paced discussion and neck to neck vote.

  • [X] Try to flee. You still have a day before his warriors are in Riverbend.
-[X] Flee immediately to keep as large a distance to the pursuers as you can.
    [X] Do something else.
-[X] First of all, fucking merk that chosen.
-[X] As in the previous plan, juke east towards the river. Do not cross the river, though. Head immediately south and then west, towards Makar. Their host shouldn't be too far behind their scouts; by the time they see the feint, they should be north-east of our force. Don't try to conceal our tracks heading south though; if they don't realize we're going for the god-king, they might head for Greenvalley.
-[X] Head straight for Makar, cross the river and attack the site to incite a slave rebellion. Once we've taken it, all we need to do is defeat the force pursuing and run like hell for Greenvalley.
[X] Plan playing a smarter revenge
-[X] It appears that the sowing people are lying cowards after all. But not only do they hate us, but also the Makarites. They tried to bribe us to fight them, so, in fact, we have them as common enemies. No blood shall be spilt but theirs now.
--[X] They saw our forces fighting. We did defeat them. But we can compensate with more than warriors. We can fight alongside each other, so that we all learn from each other. We can compensate the blood shed today with Sowing People blood. Makar can have the bigger share of the spoils. We only desire to raid Brushcrest now.
    [X] Do something else.
-[X] Kill the chosen and his entourage then march on Makar.

I would indeed not lie in an Authors Note. I've thought long and hard about how to convey to you guys that yes, Brushcrest had pulled a fast one over you in a way that wouldn't be dismissed due to the thread feeling superior and invincible. Hence the confirmation in the AN.

Mind you, I'm neither confirming or denying that the Chosen is bluffing and/or playing his own games, and I'm not going to comment on the existence or non-existence of a alliance army that may or may not be attacking the Makarites from the south.

I'm only confirming that Broken Shell put you up to attack the Makarites and when you told him your plan, he told everything to your enemy in an effort to get your military killed.
Well, that's a little damper on the mood.
But I will still not leave this plain and return without the heads of Makar's chosen.

Na they just have to hold it hostage and tell us to surrender or all our skulls go up in smoke.
If someone has attacked us we have already lost, which is why I don't think we have.
I don't know why you're giving so much credit to our religion and it's assumed restraint and so little to our people. Azel has been clear, it's a glorified death cult- what would Death Cultists do in response to oathbreakers and traitors* trying to threaten their most sacred place? The Makar aren't the only ones who can field fanatic mobs, and we've literally intertwined our religion and government as one. If things are that bad- then we've already lost enough of our population in a desperate, fanatical defense to collapse.

*they've already established no peace or negotiation can be trusted, surrender is fundamentally not an option for our people to seriously consider. No threat or promise, no matter how dire can truly be considered made in good faith.

I'm just against killing the Chosen right now since it probably would mean fighting the remaining villagers while we need to save our strength for Makar.

Don't we have a village filled with pilgrims from the clan tribes around our holy site? Attacking it could lead to the converted White Clans getting furious too and intervening I believe.

Which is why going back now is irrelevant. Either the place has fallen or it has already held off the possible invasion.
Considering that apparently that
"They should be grateful to you. When they called an envoy of ours to this place they call the Great Heart to speak, we were dubious. Even more so when they said that they wanted friendship and were willing to pay a proper tithe to Makar if we stop raiding the Sowing People. Maybe we will accept after all, given that they didn't lie about you."
Their ready to pay tribute, would likely love to let them march an army though their lands to kill us.
As such collapsing an enemy now is best in either situation.

Considering we have Speaker I wouldn't be surprised if Brushcrest's oathbreaking over blood spilled wasn't enough for us to rile them up something fierce. If the pilgrims are attacked- well, I think it would be fair to say that would be a case of this whole gambit backfiring in the best way.

The sooner we return home the sooner we can start channeling all our energies into sacking Brushcrest and conquering it. Going off half cocked when our army's position is poor for actually hurting them seems even more reckless. If we were attacking from Brushcrest as part of the allied forces then maybe, but we'd have to march across part of Makar or take a long route through the mountains to hit them, and might very well run into the allied armies on our way there. We're in the north east of Makar territory close to the part of the mountain range that isolates green valley from all but the South. Anywhere but Makar territory would either be through it or a long circuitous route.

@Azel
Small question after rereading a lot of the quest: What was that -30 effect that Bushcrest had on our first few meetings?
Since they don't have it anymore there's no harm in telling.

That was Limited Warfare. They had a few gentlemen's agreements with the other low lander villages of the time to ensure that raids wouldn't turn too bloody. Between you and Makar, they had to rethink that.

Ah, that's why they didn't want to get stuck in.
Makes sense for people who didn't start their civ with a war that brought them and their enemy close to extinction.

I have an ambush idea.
First step: Catch the Chosen

Second step: Humiliate the Chosen inffront of the entire villiage.

Third step: gather everything we need and make a run for it. Leave as little food as possible.

Fourth step: Leave the Chosen alive in a humiliating position after we pass the river (also steal his fancy headwear)

Step five: plan an ambush for the recklessly charging berserkers commanded by a man so angry he can't see straight.

Step six: have Sparrow be the bait and wear the fancy hat. That should push mister chosen to either have a heart attack or charge us without considering the situation.

Unfortunately i do not have the time to make a plan so anyone is welcome to use this.

Would you mind killing the Chosen anyway, since the vote is so close that you choosing one of the currently tied plans can decide it?

Hm... I'm tempted to close it, since discussion seems to have died down completely and the lead for attacking Makar is decent by now.

It's somewhat surprised that diplomacy didn't get more traction.
