It doesn't matter, were going to their Temple, their Holy Site, to assume its completely undefended or only houses a few hunters is complete folly, Azel has already told us we have not faced their elites yet, so they have to be SOMEWHERE, Worse case their at the temple with Fanatics, best case their fighting Brushcrest and co.
But its likely that the Temple is home to more than a few Fanatics, because as the Name implies their likely to be near their holy site.

And if Hunters died in battle, slave rebellion.

It explains why they need soldiers.

Of course the high ruling class is going to surround themselves with large number of peasants in their literal home....
After all familiarity breeds seeing people as literal gods am I right?

@Azel
The vote to flee immediately will go a good route right?
Were not being very specific but I hope so. :p
You will pick the same route as before, crossing somewhat upstream of Riverbend and then making a straight line for the hills.
Yeah, @Azel, will we get the opportunity to leverage our superior scouting and maneuver abilities to mislead or misdirect the pursuing force, or use our knowledge of the terrain to set up an ambush?
No, you would be using your average scouting capabilities to go as fast as you could.

And ambush would require an explicit vote, since that's not fleeing, but trying to fight that army.

And if Hunters died in battle, slave rebellion.

They might need soldiers, but they've got at least one army arriving tomorrow. The Chosen said he awaited our reply on the morrow, and also that on the morrow an army would arrive. So it could be a mix: they might need more soldiers, good ones, but they have at least one force ready to pit themselves against us.

Can we vote to set up an ambush only if they start gaining on us?

Why the fuck would they not have fanatics at their holy site? That sounds really dumb...
Read again what makes those people fanatics:
They rarely have the chance to prove their worth to Makar and so take every opportunity to spill blood for him recklessly.

Someone who already has the prestigious position to guard his temple would naturally not be the same type as these people.

But Azel hasn't ever mislead us with his Author Notes before. I can't remember him omitting or playing with the truth in them-- ever.
I would indeed not lie in an Authors Note. I've thought long and hard about how to convey to you guys that yes, Brushcrest had pulled a fast one over you in a way that wouldn't be dismissed due to the thread feeling superior and invincible. Hence the confirmation in the AN.

Mind you, I'm neither confirming or denying that the Chosen is bluffing and/or playing his own games, and I'm not going to comment on the existence or non-existence of a alliance army that may or may not be attacking the Makarites from the south.

I'm only confirming that Broken Shell put you up to attack the Makarites and when you told him your plan, he told everything to your enemy in an effort to get your military killed.

Yes you can.

If their not attacking us, i will only burn half their puny village! :mob:

Or bluffing hoping we will run because he's go nothing, and forcing us to decide now so we cant think things over and call his bluff.

Which of course means he is now clearly leading an army on us despite the Makarite telling us his civ is outright raiding them (though not directly).

That alliance army is definitely attacking us from the south.

So to sum it simply.
Brushcrest created alliance and seet it of against Makar, set us against Makar , told Makar about us, we all kill each other and Brushcrest is chief power in the region .

Broken Shell you magnificent bustard.

That's roughly the shape of it.

Mind you, Broken Shell is an Intrigue Hero, not a Diplomat. That title comes with some expectations of competence attached.

Hence why it's not in our best interest not to waste our strength against Makar right now. If there is any hope of survival it's in getting home as fast as possible and salvaging whatever we can.

If we were attacked, and lost that badly, then this army is all we have left. And Azel could just be holding that info back.
And we will find our nice stone walls held by our enemies, without a lot of good loot we wont be able to conviece enough help to dislodge them, (IF ONLY THIER WAS A LOOT BOX CLOSE WE COULD HIT BEFORE GOING HOME)
