SV Saves the Multiverse (Closed)

I unfollowed and am only back when alerted

I am not changing my mind on Necrons - if you want to play something similar, smack 'em with a large nerf bat, or play something else entirely.

@RogerD, do items eventually transform back on their own if magically transformed in this, or are the magical transformations permanent?

Dunno - I'll just go toss a coin :)
Seriously, I'd given this a far amount of thought - but not that much lol.
It would depend on how powerful the item was, how it was changed etc.
If someone used the powers of Chaos or Order to alter a magical item it stays that way indefinitely. Should the transformation be less powerful than the object than it would not change either, only the person. If you're talking shapechanging then the object would be unaffected by that magic, as it is purely done on an individual level.

Missed the edit again.

I was mainly thinking on the lines of my Deep Transmutation. If I turned a rock into a metal rock, would it turn back on it's own at a later point, or would it now be 'permanently' metal?

*pops neck* Before I post my sheet, here's some reading for some of the stuff I'm going with.

Stand
Nen

I'd like rulings on how these would count, before posting the sheet.
At a really quick glance through, since I'm not familiar with either setting, the most obvious potential issues are the 'Stands may only be seen by Stand users' and 'A Stand can only be directly damaged by another Stand'. Considering most of the settings in the Multiverse won't have Stands, that would mean a level of combat power that would be completely impossible to deal with by most people.

Considering Stands are just a way to make psychic powers look visually interesting

its not as big an issue as youd think

Oh? They seemed a lot more involved than that, from the other stuff on the page.

That said, I am definitely not familiar with anything about them beyond that particular wiki page, so I'll not try and argue the point :p

Right Stands would HAVE to obey the building level OP, so mundane weapons could destroy them as would magic. However, I'm going to consider them more Mage or Wizard orientated. Thematically they don't fit into being a Mystic's power set. Also anyone with mystical sight (or advanced enough sensors )would also be able to see them.

Now Nen would not work, primarily as it overpowers Deep Magic, which is a no-no at this stage.
You can have an aura which you can use in various ways, in effect you become Marvel's Iron Fist.
Or you can have Deep Magic, but not both.
Unless I'm missing something, and I might. I have a nearly five year old running around wanting to play, cats wanting fuss and food. So being pulled in all kinds of directions at this time of night :)

Expanding on my Awakening a bit, and explaining how despite being a decent Earthbender Xin still fits into the first tier.

---

In the aftermath of the Disaster of Omashu, Xin found himself just a single soldier in the shattered Earth Kingdom army, scrambling for a retreat from the Fire Nation army - and their Dragon General. Somehow, the Fire Nation had managed to train themselves a fighter who broke all the normal rules of Bending, and had given him command of their army.

He could somehow fly, great jets of flame holding him in the sky. His golden armour was of a design no-one had ever seen before, and seemed to actively shrug off hits that would have killed anyone else on the battlefield. Even the Terra Team detachment, landing a strike with what seemed to be half of the hill they were stood on, had only managed to delay the figure for seconds.

And the Lightning Breath? That was just not fair. Even the most elite Firebenders could only use a handful of them attacks, and they took physical effort to use. The Dragon General just breathed out a constant stream of the stuff, and if Xin hadn't been seeing double at that point, he would have sworn it jumped between people too...

Oh, and the worst part about it? His Bending had stopped working. Well, not completely, but now it took a ridiculous amount of concentration to do the most minor of bending - it was like being back in school. He'd eventually managed to figure out how to use the basics again, though it seemed to use a lot more focus and a lot less gestures than before. It did make him quite happy for his Father's paranoia all those years ago.

"You never know when you might not be able to earthbend! So you will be learning to use a sword!"

That had been an argument over several days. Eventually he had backed down on his youthful arrogance and agreed to learn. It had taken a decent chunk of his free time, and even now he was hardly a master, but he knew his way around a sword better than most of the farmers that had joined the army. It had probably saved his life or health at least twice since the Disaster...

---

So, he had been a decently-talented earthbender, but his 'Awakening' shifted his abilities in such a way he lost a lot of the power he had before.

Though in writing this, a question has come up for @RogerD. Are there other Travellers of the Grand Stair than us? Or would 'The Dragon General' simply be an Awakened person locked to that world?

Is your character human?
Secondly where is that picture from?
Thirdly, is the power ring thingy. Now when you call become Lords / Ladies of Gossamer Worlds you will likely all have artefects capable to minor reality warping, but at the start. Not so much. It was for the same reason that the Ring of Nature was too much to begin with.
Lastly, you need to pick spells and stuff as per the opening post.

When should we start posting in the IC?

Just got to post Daed's bit in my Immortal RP, and then, time permitting will do opening posts for you tonight. Unless you wanted to start somewhere specific?

First I think it would be enhanced human and three hearts are his regular human heart Clock work hard at it serves as a back up. And a deep one heart to slow his aging. And the hip brain just deals with psychic stuffmaking sure he can be completely controlled by just a regular psychic in the end him psychically communicate with people.
I found the picture while I was looking for a specific picture but I couldn't find it so went with next best looking one
As for the ring there's a crossover between new trek and green lanterns where Scottie he makes his own ring but he just acts like a phaser in as a shield around the user The only place I could find details on it where the power ring page on Wikipedia

Well, I'd have thought we would start in the Sanctuary, but if you have other plans go ahead.

I read through that bit, and the Power Ring there was just the same as any other power ring, except that he used it as a Phaser and Shield rather than anything else. Way too powerful for an early-game item.

Really because everything I seen and heard about it it's just a ring That has a energy projector that does Shields and blasts

Actually, re-reading that, I stand corrected. They are different and simpler. Not sure exactly where they stand on the power scale though.

To save anyone else the searching;
Montgomery Scott's analysis of the rings allows him to create his own version. Although he freely admits that the rings are so complex he feels like a caveman trying to understand a warp core, Scotty's rings can generate personal force-fields and fire energy blasts at the user's will, Scotty comparing it to a phaser worn on the finger.
