Regarding what super robots we want to bring... should we bring Gunbuster (if it is a valid pick) or should we save it for another time? Otherwise, I'm mostly partial to bringing Dancouga and Shin-Getter. As for strategy, I'll wait a bit more to see what people have to say on that front.

I don't know much about memento mori, but we should be probably expecting end of the story machines from the dragonar side, wouldn't be surprised giganos deployed prototypes of that samurai armor to defend this thing.

Cannot remember when they unlocked it, but maybe shin getter should be in for a case of sudden trans arms prototype too since we have left ribbons to his things for a long while.

I say we save the Gunbuster for later and bring the Dancouga, iirc the dancou ho formation has a lot of fire power.

Still cannot decide on the approach really.

Still good chapter and we get info for the FMP plot to boot.

Started working on a plan. Opinions are welcome. Plan may or may not suffer changes, depending on how thinking on potential strategies goes.

EDIT: No comments as of yet, but after some time to ponder, I have something to ask @theguynamedwafer... would the Throne Drei's GN Stealth Field be of use in blinding the Memento Mori and potentially render it inactive for a short time, or is this line of thought not possible and the GN Stealth Field would be best saved for something else?

As an aside, here's how Mira and her copilot look as a unit, since we got the up-to-date sheet (italic marks something that's different from my earlier speculation)...

Mira's Ability Score: 10
Rose Unzebrechlich's stats:
Hp - 9000 (+3000 more HP than the normal Rose)
Mobility - 8 (+4 more Mobility than the normal Rose)
Armor - 9 (+3 more Armor than the normal Rose)

Special traits: Blaze Luminous (+3 to Armor DC), Orgone Cloud (+3 to Armor DC, +2 to some attack rolls at Will 10), Tesla Drive (+2 to Mobility DC), Brain Raid System (+2 to all rolls and Armor/Mobility DC; reveresed into a -2 if afflicted with a negative mental effect), SMZ Circuits (+2 to attack rolls);
Copilots: Lucia (+3 to Mobility DC, support oriented Spirit Command set), Nina (+3 to attack rolls, offense oriented oriented Spirit Command set), Yukari (+3 to Armor DC, defense oriented Spirit Command set). As the Unzebrechlich is a four-seater, we get to use all of our copilots at once.
Pilot trait: Brave Soul - Evolving Hero (Will cap raised to 12; each point of Will above 5 adds +1 to attack rolls and Armor/Mobility DC; at Will 8 get an additional +6 to attack rolls and Armor/Mobility DC)
Spirit Commands: Focus, Alert, Persist, Valor, Love (Mira); Scan, Foresee, Disrupt (Lucia); Fury, Strike, Zeal (Nina); Trust, Guard, Faith (Yukari).

Attack Roll Modifier: 10 (Ability) + 2 (SMZ Circuits) + 2 (Brain Raid) + 3 (Nina) = 17; 20 if Focus is used (30% of 10 is 3); at Will 8, attack modifier is raised by +12 (+3 from being at Will 8, +3 from Brave Soul - Evolving Hero's first boost and +6 from Brave Soul - Evolving Hero's second boost), for a total of 32 to attack rolls; at Will 12 add another +8, bringing it up to 40 (42 if Orgone Cloud's attack boosting property triggers).
Armor Defense DC: 10 (Ability) + 9 (Armor) + 3 (Blaze Luminous) + 3 (Orgone Cloud) + 2 (Brain Raid) + 3 (Yukari) = 30; effectively 33 if Focus is used; at Will 8, armor modifier is raised by +12 (+3 from being at Will 8, +3 from Brave Soul - Evolving Hero's first boost and +6 from Brave Soul - Evolving Hero's second boost), for a total of 45 to armor; at Will 12 add another +8, bringing it up to 53.
Mobility Defense DC: 10 (Ability) + 8 (Mobility) +2 (Tesla Drive) + 2 (Brain Raid) + 3 (Lucia) = 25; effectively 28 if Focus is used; at Will 8, mobility modifier is raised by +12 (+3 from being at Will 8, +3 from Brave Soul - Evolving Hero's first boost and +6 from Brave Soul - Evolving Hero's second boost), for a total of 40 to mobility; at Will 12 add another +8, bringing it up to 48.

The Throne Drei's GN Stealth Field can technically be used to conceal the Ptolemios' approach, but it would also make it blindingly obvious that the Ptolemios is...on approach.

You'd be better off using it to confuse the enemy in the thick of combat.

Oh yeah Drei can cause major disruption of the detection and radar. It's how Sergei Smirnov and his Chobu team used the cluster of mini devices to see if some of them get disrupted which will reveal Ptolemy's location.

Since no one commented on the plan any further...

Can Shin Getter use the GN Drive or is it too badass to use it anyway?

I mean it is not really necessary, pretty sure Shin Getter 1 can go toe to toe againts a trans am gundam should the guy push it.

Shin getter 1 is just that powerful and dangerous, since even Ryoma had trouble with the speed at first.

I mean it is not really necessary, pretty sure Shin Getter 1 can go toe to toe againts a trans am gundam should the guy push it.

If enemy Trans-Am is is play (in the sense of Ribbons finally having given his lackeys machines that can use it), I expect there will be a lot of baiting around, trying to provoke one side into blowing its Trans-Am early so that the other can use their Trans-AM as a counter to the enemy Trans-AM. So our best bet would be to use our strong units (the new Rose, Dancouga, Shin Getter) to inflict enough damage on the enemy forces that the enemy decide to blow their Trans-AM early to recover, and then, if possible, have Celestial Being use Trans-AM on some of their machines as counter to that.

So it's like playing a game of chicken with mobile suits. It's a sound tactic and I can see Char/Quattro think Trans-Am might be awesome but impractical since it would drain the GN Drive after its use from his perspective.

And that's coming from the guy whose red mobile suit goes 3x faster.

Aboard the Ptolemios II

You are Sumeragi Lee Noriega, and you're currently waiting for a shuttle with additional parts and one additional crew member for the ship to arrive.

"The shuttle has been detected and given us the appropriate signal ping." Mileina reports.

You nod.

"Tell them to dock with us using...designated approach vector bravo." You order. "I'm going down to the docking hatch to meet our new crew member."

The rest of the bridge crew salute as you get up from your seat and kick off toward where the shuttle will dock with the ship. You're joined shortly after by Lockon.

A few minutes later, the shuttle has docked, and as the cargo it was holding detaches and is automatically placed in the cargo hold, your new crew member emerges: a young woman with long purple hair.

"Anew Returner, reporting for duty! Permission to come aboard, ma'am?" Anew asks as she salutes.

"Permission granted." You say, returning Anew's salute.

As Anew comes aboard the ship, you hear Lockon whistle appreciatively. You give him a sidelong glance and are about to reprimand him when Anew giggles.

"Like what you see?" Anew asks, turning in microgravity to show off her body.

"Yes I do!" Lockon says.

Anew giggles again.

"Well, if we all live through the upcoming operation, I'd be willing to go out with you." Anew says.

"I'm holding you to that!" Lockon says.

You glare at the two of them.

"Ah, but first, we must ensure the operation is carried out successfully!" Lockon adds hastily.

You pinch the bridge of your nose.

"Lockon, please...keep it in your pants until we get some free time..." You moan.

"Sorry captain! I will exercise the proper discipline until the appropriate time!" Lockon says apologetically.

"You better. It's already hard enough to ignore H/Alleujah and Marie/Soma making out in the corridors all the time." You say.

Lockon salutes before kicking off toward the hangar. Anew wisely stays silent as the two of you make your way back to the bridge of the ship.

"So..." You're not sure how to broach the next topic, but it's something that's going to have to be addressed. "Other people from Celestial Being have told me you were originally a sleeper agent for Ribbons. The non-Innovade personnel think they were able to get rid of Ribbons' programming, but they're not entirely sure if he has some kind of backdoor access to Veda. Is that going to be a problem?"

Anew's expression momentarily darkens before brightening up.

"When my hidden loyalties to Ribbons were purged, I was in a very...distinct state of mind. I don't think I'll ever forget that feeling, and I believe I should be able to resist any attempt to assert mental control over me. You should have enough of an opening to restrain me if that happens." Anew says.

"Not what I wanted to hear, but I'll take it." You glance back toward the hangar. "Lyle's already lost his brother and the rest of his family. I don't want him to lose the love of his life as well."

Anew nods, and the two of you make the rest of the trip to the bridge in silence.

Space around Memento Mori, Lunar Orbit

You are Mira Ayana, and as you and the girls start up the Rose, you brace for the...abnormal feeling the Brain Raid System causes whenever it connects your mind with those of the girls.

"Ugh...the AEU couldn't have figured out a way to mask that feeling?" Nina shakes her head.

"Would you rather have tried using Psychoframe? 50 credits says we'd all see a shared vision of each other stark naked whenever we started the Rose up." Lucia retorts.

"Point taken." Nina says.

"All systems good on my end." Yukari says.

"Same here." Nina and Lucia say simultanously.

"Okay. Mira Ayana, Rose Unzebrechlich, launching!" You say.

The Rose Unzebrechlich launches from the Budapest, followed shortly after by Patrick Colasour's Victory Gundam.

A GN Particle haze in the distance indicates Setsuna is approaching in the 00 Raiser, and the component machines of Dancouga stay separated at the moment to maintain an element of surprise.

"Asset 'P', we are on approach to Memento Mori via its blind spot below the orbital ring. Do we proceed with the plan?" Kati asks over an encrypted frequency.

A few seconds pass in silence.

"Yes. Proceed with the plan as confirmed. Asset 'P' out." Sumeragi responds.

"Roger that." Kati says. "All forces we have a go! Commence assault on Memento Mori!"

Your force surges ahead, Katharon taking the lead.

"Destroy Memento Mori! Don't let Giganos and the A-LAWS get a single shot off at Earth!" A Katharon ship captain yells.

Enacts, Flags, GN-Xs, and Leos charge ahead, meeting Giganos Metal Armors, A-LAWS GN-XIIIs, and AHEADs.

Some of the A-LAWS ships move below the orbital ring to fire on the Katharon and Solar Vanguard forces, but most of them stay above it, hovering around Memento Mori's main cannon.

"Ready girls?" You ask.

"Ready!" They all say at the same time.

"Okay..." You take a deep breath. "Let's go!"

View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XlXKr_djCfw

You aim the Dark Lance and fire it at a Giganos Metal armor. The wrist-mounted blaster fires a burst of three shots which rapidly home in on the enemy machine from three different directions, destroying it. You fire the Dark Lance at several more enemy machines before a pair of A-LAWS GN-XIIIs try to catch you in a pincer attack.

You unfurl the improved Energy Whip and lash out at the GN-XIII on your right. The Energy Whip, glowing pink and yellow, smashes through the enemy mobile suit's GN Field before rending it to pieces, the individual parts emitting yellow particles before they explode. The other GN-XIII tries to disengage, but you're able to swing the Energy Whip around and cut it in half at the waist, causing it to explode.

You boost forward and see that one of the A-LAWS' ships is charging forward in an ill-conceived attempt to split the friendly lines in half. You scoff before drawing the Crystal Sword and charging at the enemy ship. It attempts to ward you off with point defense cannons, only for the ordnance to uselessly ping off of the Rose's Blaze Luminous and Orgone Cloud. You close the distance and proceed to cut the A-LAWS ship in half lengthwise.

The destruction of one of their ships seems to cause the A-LAWS forces to come to some sense, as the other ships below the orbital ring assume a defensive formation while the mobile suits and Metal Armors surge forward in an attempt to push you back.

Suddenly, a massive yellow beam erupts from above the orbital ring toward the Rose.

"Yukari!" You say.

"On it!" Yukari replies.

A combined barrier of Blaze Luminous and Orgone Cloud forms, preventing the beam from doing any significant damage to the Rose.

"Is that a new model?" Lucia wonders out loud.

"Well, well...looks like the boy Ribbons is interested in isn't the only one who looks like they can put up a good show!" A haughty female voice says over an open frequency.

"Innovade!" Setsuna snarls as the 00 Raiser charges at the mobile suit that fired at you: a new A-LAWS model, the Gadessa.

"Ribbons is interested in you, boy, but don't think that means I'm going to hold back!" The female Innovade taunts as she turns and fires at the 00 Raiser.

Setsuna easily dodges the beam as two other custom A-LAWS machines enter the fray: another Gadessa and the mobile armor Empruss.

"Damn you, Celestial Being! I shall avenge Bring Stabity!" The pilot of the Empruss yells.

"Here we go!" Nina says in anticipation as the fully combined Dancouga forms and fires a salvo from its beam cannons at the A-LAWS forces.

Aboard the A-LAWS command ship Arbiter

You are Aber Lindt, and you are in charge of the defense of Memento Mori.

As such, you are disinclined to let the Solar Vanguard, Celestial Being, and Katharon destroy it before it can even fire its first shot at Earth.

As you contemplate sending additional ships and forces below the orbital ring to suppress the enemy forces, one of the other bridge officers turns toward you.

"It's Celestial Being's ship, sir! It's approaching along the length of the orbital ring!" He says urgently.

"Hmph. As predicted." You scoff.

TACTICS CHECK

Opposed Roll-Both sides roll 1d20 and add modifiers to try and figure out the plan of the other

Aber Lindt
Roll 1d20 + 6 Ability - 4 (Predictable tactics)
Roll 3
3 + 6 - 4 = 5

Sumeragi
Roll 1d20 + 8 Ability + 8 (Tactical Forecaster)
Roll 4
4 + 8 + 8 = 20

Result: Aber Lindt tries to force the Ptolemios II into Memento Mori's firing angle...which is exactly what Sumeragi predicted he would do

"Fire! Force the enemy ship into the firing angle of Memento Mori!" You order.

"Sir! There's a second contact trailing behind Celestial Being's ship! It's...Shin Getter Robo!" The sensor officer says in alarm.

"WHAT?!" You exclaim.

You are Sumeragi Lee Noriega, and to your relief, the ship's GN Field is holding under the A-LAWS' repeated salvos.

"The ship is being forced off the path to starboard!" Anew Returner reports.

As the Ptolemios II lays down a suppressive barrage of beam rounds GN missiles, you see the A-LAWS' salvo shift as they spot Shin Getter Robo.

"Enemy is partially shifting fire to Shin Getter Robo!" Mileina Vashti reports.

"At the current rate at which we're taking fire, we'll be forced into the firing angle of Memento Mori in...52 seconds!" Feldt reports.

You take a deep breath as you review your plan of action.

What did Sumeragi decide on?

[ ] Precision + Brute Force
-Shin Getter Robo will charge headlong at Memento Mori as a distraction. Once the Ptolemios II is forced into the firing angle of Memento Mori, dodge the shot by going into Trans-Am using the Arios Gundam's GN Drive to sustain the mode for longer and subsequently charge at Memento Mori. The Arios Gundam will not be able to assist in combat. GN Archer will provide defensive fire.
-Gundam Cherudim will provide defensive support with its Shield bits and work in tandem with the Gundam Seravee to expose Memento Mori's weak point and destroy it.
-The Ptolemios II will not be able to use its GN Field during Trans-Am.
-This is essentially the plan from canon Gundam 00 with minor adjustments.

[ ] Catch-22
-Have Shin Getter Robo cling to the Ptolemios II as it is forced into the firing angle of Memento Mori. Once it dodges the shot from Memento Mori using Trans-Am, sustained by the Arios Gundam's GN Drive, Shin Getter Robo will change to Shin Getter and charge at Memento Mori in an attempt to destroy it. At the same time, Gundam Seravee and Gundam Cherudim will work in tandem to try and attack Memento Mori's weak point.
-GN Archer will provide defensive fire.

[ ] Write-in
-The Ptolemios II can use Trans-Am without a GN Drive Gundam hooked up to it, but it won't last as long as a result. You'll be subject to the rule of the ship's Trans-Am as written.
-ONE GN Drive Gundam among the Arios, Cherudim, and Seravee can sustain Trans-Am. They will obviously not be able to assist in combat if they do so.
-You CAN fight to try and keep the Ptolemios II out of the firing angle of Memento Mori, but you'll lose any element of surprise as a result. After all, no one expects anything to SURVIVE getting shot at by a superweapon...

Who assist Setsuna with Hilling Care's Gadessa and the Empruss? Whoever is not picked will deal with Revive Revival. (Pick ONE-TWO)

[ ] Mira (Rose)

A/N: And so, the attack on Memento Mori, WAY later than I thought it would happen. Also, I forgot to include the Dragonar cast in this, but considering this isn't the Dragonar finale, I'm not retconning them into this. Please vote, discuss, and critique!

Good thing that Anew Returner won't be used against her will by Ribbons Almark anymore and I can see him being salty about it.

"Would you rather have tried using Psychoframe? 50 credits says we'd all see a shared vision of each other stark naked whenever we started the Rose up." Lucia retorts.
It happens in other Gundam shows that features naked people in space for fanservice reasons and it's a hilarious Take That jab.

"Roger that." Kati says. "All forces we have a go! Commence assault on Memento Mori!"
Bet that Kati Mannequin is having an inside catharsis of having to attack Aber Lindt who's in charge of defense of Memento Mori.

Your force surges ahead, Katharon taking the lead.

Good thing that unlike their canon counterparts, Katharon won't get the onesided curbstomp this time and can fight evenly against the A-Laws.

"Damn you, Celestial Being! I shall avenge Bring Stabity!" The pilot of the Empruss yells.
Sadly, that Innovade schmuck is gonna die in vain.

You are Aber Lindt, and you are in charge of the defense of Memento Mori.
And I look forward to see his face of despair when the Memento Mori explodes to his face once more.

"Sir! There's a second contact trailing behind Celestial Being's ship! It's...Shin Getter Robo!" The sensor officer says in alarm.

"WHAT?!" You exclaim.
Shin Getter Robo striking fear into the hearts of evil men!

we could shove some GN T drive in if we have the schematic to make them, the side team in CB use those when the main Drive was being use by the main team

as for the toxicity issue the Tau Drive have, that can be tune down by installing more filter (which is what happen in canon), so alot of moral issue with using Tau Drive can be wave away

and with CB better understanding of GN tech, their Tau Drive can output much more particle then one use by every one else ( this happen in canon after the movie)

heck, that probably should be a research option, give all our GN drive Mook or elite unit an increase in stats from having more particle production

Tau Drive toxisity wasn't solved by filter, but by changing particle energy? AFAIK, Red Particles were specifically tuned for Maximum Beam, and de-tuning them from that brought them down from warcrime territory
