Strange Tides

[X] [Parent City] Orchomenos:
[X] [Location] Hyboria
[X] [Journey] As an exile from your home, thrown upon this shores by fate. (Exile Start, see locations for details)

Hard modo

[x] [Parent City] Knossos
[x] [Location] Aziris
[X] [Journey] As an exile from your home, thrown upon this shores by fate. (Exile Start, see locations for details)

I feel like this gives a lot of possibilitys, lets discover the lands of Africa, the banks of the Long Nile, and beyond to far eastern lands.

I like the Hyphyria location option and it seems like it could pair well with the Orchomenos city option.

Well I can say I'm slightly terrified by Azel being a GM, due to his sheer competence at moving pieces on a board. Luckily I trust DP enough that even us losing will be awesome to read!

-[x] [Parent City] Miletus
-[x] [Location] Drepane
-[x] [Journey] Send from your home to claim new lands. You will receive aid from your old home, but also will be called upon to send tribute and aid in times of war. (Colony Start)
--[x] Population 10, Supplies 20, Galley Squadron 1, Sailor Unit 1, Garrison Unit 2, Wealth 10

Reasoning:

Parent City & Location: to me, these two are deeply interconnected. Drepane offers fertile soil, defensible location due to being an island, forest spirits who need dealing with but sound like satyrs, and water spirits that want gold and praise. It's sitting on a trading route.

To that, we come from Miletus, that has expertise in dealing with spirits in general, which we need to develop the land, a trading background that exploits the location and can feed the water spirits, and knowledge of astrology, which is crucial for navigation.

And Colony start because having the support of the mainland is fundamental for an island nation, but in our case we will need it even more than usual as building a military is expensive.

Fairly balanced on the resource spread, a decent population, double that in supplies as that seems wise, a galley and sailor combo becaude island nation, and double garrison because its cheap, useful for seeing off raiders, and another galley and sailor combo would leave us with almost no wealth.

And, come on, if we are playing Age of Mythology, I want my damn mythical units.

The wrath of the gods had come upon you, but the priests and oracles were all in agreement that it was not a misdeed that had brought it forth, but the prayers of your neighbors. The prayers of those who called themselves your allies in the current war, now revealed as traitors.
I want to do this tactic at some point.

@Azel @DragonParadox, how much would we have to sacrifice to bring down calamity on an enemy city?

The Greek gods were all a bunch of raging douchebags. I'd rather have as little to do with them, for good or ill, as we can possibly manage. Orchomenos seems like the best origin for this, in that we will have the most technical knowledge and engineering skills, meaning we can build an actual civilization, while everyone else exists at the whim of the gods. And if we're going to be stuck with a god, Hephaestus is one of the more easy going among his asshat pantheon. Simultaneously, the Hyphyria location option gives us the most to work with in terms of ships and military, along with a good-sized population as well. And we'll even have a tragic backstory!

Don't worry. If you don't like the Cthonic gaggle of raging douchebags, there are, depending on the starting location, a wide array of other groups of raging douchebags who will meddle in your affairs. :V

Are there groups that we can be raging douchebags to? We need victims of our own.
