Stark Transcendent (Iron Man/Marvel Quest)

Well, obviously. Experts tend to be annoyed when amateurs intrude on their field, especially in military matters. But that was a given and not part of my point whatsoever. I was clarifying Tony's actions and motives. SHIELD's response is an entirely separate issue and has no bearing in the least on my prior post. I'm not sure why you thought that a reasonable, or even necessary, rebuttal.

Dropping a line from jolly old England - I've been enjoying my week off, though my feet are killing me from walking all across London. I'll be back in the flat lands by week's end.

Incidentally, if any of my stories just happen to feature London in the near future, I remind you that correlation does not equal causation, and that you should get off my back, oy! I hope to have an update ready within a day or two of returning, I'm not sure if our angel serapheus has updated the votecount yet so I can plan for that. Regarding the discussion going on : thumbs up, and some good points were made re: radiation and Hydra. Good show, chaps! Cheerio!

[X] Disarm Gandhi : Go for the weapon first, disarming the brute and perhaps getting rid of the nuclear power-source. Between you and Peter, then, it should be a cinch to shut the guy up permanently. You can then move on to more important things.

Resisting electronic shocks and pulses will help you against brute force tactics, and protection against extreme temperatures should help with flying.

Richards can go fail on his own. We don't need him dragging Tony and Peter down with him.

Why do I think he'll fail? Because Reed is incredibly naive and is horribly bad when it comes to A) applicability, B) practicality, and C) cost efficiency.

If we pick him up, more than half our time will go to just making Reed's tech usable beyond in laboratory conditions and/or not be so complicated that trouble shooting requires multiple doctorates.
Of course he will fail, and then we will take whatever he made and make it functional, you have to admit that Reed is good at making advanced (if horribly impractical) hyper tech, Tony on the other hand Excels at making things practical,

It is the scientist and the engineer, the scientist discovers things, but knowledge is useless on it's own, the engineer take what the scientist discovers and gives it purpose.

By himself Richards is doomed to be useless, but that doesn't mean that we cannot use him.

We just have to get him to sign a contract that lets us use any tech he creates, not an easy feat by any definition, but if we can prove that we changed we might be able to swing it, though in the end it might not be worth the effort.

Like I said, I don't want to spend more than half our time trying to make Richard's shit useable. Which is an understatement in my mind.
Well obviously we wouldn't do it now, we would wait until we have tech points to spare, Richards might open up forms of research that tony would never even think of, and if we have enough tech then it shouldn't be to much of an issue to make it functional.

After all we did perfect clean renewable energy IN A CAVE WITH A BOX OF SCRAPS!

Honestly I agree with you, I am just playing devil's advocate,

What is the current year in game?
IIRC we are a couple of months past the start of Iron Man 1, which took place in 2010

Tony was kidnapped on May 18, he was held for 3 months, and escaped on August 18th

He discover the icing problem with the Mark II on October 20th, if we assume the timelines have not diverged to much, then we can assume that we got the option to go for a test flight then. we are still on the same day,

Which would place the date as October 20th,

Tony was only held for about a week in this version before he gassed everyone in the cave, and then torched them.
we were? huh, well no matter, just push the timeline forward by 2 month's and 21 days,
Although, I think it took us a bit longer to invent the armor, so it might even out, whatever, it's not like the date really matters, what with the variables between universes and everything.

Might I point our we still have no clear winner for

we still have to rescue Stane I don't think we have all that much time for an interrogation

better to track her and hope she leads us to something important or if she doesn't lead us to anything we can have shield pick her up later

I'm now officially amused by the image of Reed, rather than working on the fancy Baxter Building, just getting like one floor of Tony's skyscraper. Or one big lab on the moonbase or something. The Baxter Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Stark Industries.

What would Mr. Fantastic think, with Tony as his boss? He wouldn't have to call him Sir or act formal or anything because Tony's not really into that, but I'm sure it'd still make for an amusing relationship.

What? Why would he have a whole floor? He doesn't need all that space for his job of fetching Tony's coffee. ;)

We need a dumbass coffee-fetching A.I. called Richards. Stat.

I knew there was some way in which the British and this topic overlapped:

I'm back, folks. Good to see ya. :)

Movie posters that look like someone's airbrushed them twenty times too many? This has been a trend since, like, airbrushing.

It's like you're asking me to throw rocks at you.

More importantly, when's the update scheduled for? Holidays aren't an acceptable ecuse for delays. :D
