Heh.
Perhaps this should be shifted to "Spidey!" I'm not sure that Peter would be impressed with Stark using his real name in the field.Ridiculously Average Guy said:

Not exactly. It is due to project Paper clip! Where we effectively pardoned many German scientists as long as they worked for us.Carrnage said:

2"I am reading large amounts of beta radiation emanating from the direction of the vessel."
3"They've got a nuke in there?" You demanded incredulously. "Since when? Why didn't you notice it before? How do nukes appear out of thin air?" You skidded to a halt as you saw a positively huge figure departing the ship, carrying an oversized gun under his arm. "It's not - that guy, is it? What are we dealing with, here? A dirty bomb?"
4Fantastic - another super soldier. That was a secondary concern, though, for the moment. "I'm more worried about the radiation," you muttered. "Beta radiation - that's electrons. What the hell would put out mass quantities of those? Some kind of weird railgun? Star Trek phasers?" You were about to make up something else, when you noticed it. A blue glow that emanated from the top of the weapon. "Jarvis - what's the power source on that thing, exactly?"
Unshielded drones are likely to fry far more quickly than the ironman suit electronics which at least have large metal plates in the way to protect against some of the radiation damage.Recording or not, if the gun didn't really run on an arc reactor, the blue glow would have to make sense another way - and the electrons were the key to solving that puzzle. When particles were accelerated to a higher speed than light in a medium, which possible, then a special kind of radiation was emitted. Usually that just happened in nuclear pools - but here it was happening right in front of your eyes. These were the telltale shine of Cherenkov radiation.
Comic book world unfortunately, were this based more around real life physics I'd totally agree with you.Carrnage said:Electron radiation, we have a surge hardened insulated ferrometallic suit, we're pretty much immune.
it's less they don't like us and more they are somewhat unhappy about Pyre being used and don't quite know what to think of us yet.Enohthree said:
They still aren't going to be all that happy with us putting our selves in danger.Indrik said:While I agree with your conclusion, I feel that's a rather ungenerous interpretation of Tony's actions. There was certainly no flat refusal as you claim. We didn't act without SHIELD support because we wanted to, but rather because we weren't confident that Obi would remain safe through the delay required for SHIELD forces to arrive on site.
