Stark Transcendent (Iron Man/Marvel Quest)

We wouldn't even need to lock it; all we need to do is give them the invoice for how much it would cost for us to maintain it, and then another breakdown detailing how much it would cost for them to maintain it, and it'll be on its way back before we can finish the conversation. :D
And the part where if the government spends on the armor, the payment actually comes from the tax-paying public. :V

Also, if the US military takes our armour suits, I don't see why we shouldn't make them available to the other NATO members. Or, even better, make discreetly know that we would make the design freely available on the internet.

Or even better! We make multiple WMDs that can be created from random, easy to acquire scrap, then not only do we make the design available for free on the internet, we post ads and create a viral how-to video!

That'll teach em. That'll teach them all.
Because soon everybody will be dead.

Look, it does solve the problem of people stealing our suits, if we avoided every plan that ends with the death of everyone everywhere then we'd never get anything done.

If any of our designs is on the Internet, then the terrorists will be able to use those.

While I certainly like the idea of equalling the power among the Nato members or even the UN members by rendering all their military might in face of our own meaningless and forcing them to actually talk instead of strong arming each other, I don't like the idea of giving them and thus the world at large our Ace doesn't strike me as a smart Idea, especially with people like Dr. Doom running around

But maybe instead, when we create the Avengers, have them work under the UN, basically taking away influence from the powerplayers and giving it to a mostly powerless organisation that everybody 'agreed' on, maybe we could even build them their own island so that they would be removed from US soil and prentend to be truly neutral in state matters

-> My point.

-> Your head.

The idea being that, should the US government try and take away our physical property in the interest of public utility (which is possible), we could stop them by hinting that in response we would divulge our intellectual property to other nations the US are allied to, or even the world at large, upsetting a military preponderance that was the cornerstone of US foreign policy in the West since the WWII and in the entire globe since Christmas 1991.

About the UN idea: the organisation is largely powerless in politics and enforcement because of its own Charter and would be hard pressed to make them take decisions about us even if we declared unilaterally that the Avengers as an association respond to them. All of this is without even considering the staggering power the UN Security Council could channel if it had "Earth's mightiest heroes" under its heel.

Probably a better idea would be to request UN oversight on the Avengers in the form of an advisor or a representative, to appease the world governments and open a communication channel with them.

It wouldn't matter if the bluff is worthless, which it is.

Would the US try to take it though? We are no longer military and we are not using the suit for military purposes.

If pressed we can just say that it was a highly sophisticated space suit, which we used it as in the launch. Sure it has military uses, but all technology has such uses.

The events that happened where the US tried to take it from stark in the movies wouldn't happen here for the simply reason that Stark is not using it as a weapon.

I would see them simply inquiring about buying the suit itself to be made, and if Stark refuse they would simply start going to others to research it for the fact that while Stark can develop powerful weapon systems he has gone on record on desiring to change his image and go to the path of developing ways to fix the worlds problems through more peaceful means.

And I would like to think that he still has somewhat amicable relationship with the US military since he is not openly snubbing them by being a vigilante.

My guess about those 'errors' that Jarvis is experiencing is him crossing over from simply being a very powerful AI to possibly some form of true intelligence.

Vision/Ultron Hype?

Pretty sure we were also supposed to have a viewpoint from the Shocker (vibrational dude, forget his name) because he was the one who actually won the vote, along with Jarvis.

Yeah, writing that atm.

The bolded looks like he is responding to something that was never said. Is there in fact a missing part of the conversation?

Yeah, I put it back in - seems to have been dropped in editing. If you have seen ASM2, I basically cribbed it from there.

Welcome to the fold. In this quest we alternate between being amazing and trying not to die. Right now we're trying for both... and possibly doing neither. :S

Also, sometimes you just kinda end up paying for completely ignoring things earlier in the quest (in favor of awesome.) See for example that the current predicament was established in arc 2's chapter 13. ;)

I mean, Raza was brought up, but...what were we supposed to do about it? Ask to examine him for SCIENCE!?
we could have asked what he meant by the bolded below

Roarian said:
"There are - theories. Mr. Raza is in some ways unusual," Fury said after a long moment, glancing to Peter again. "We will not speak of that here and now. Suffice to say, he's secure."

Wasn't too unusual that most people didn't really think about it, but the guy had indeed survived both a nerve toxin and a massive firestorm.

We have are an abject failure at 'not to dying'.

Now 'not staying dead' is something that we are good at. (which is to be expected really, when both the cosmic entities associated with life and death are on your side (or at least intermingled with your destiny))

Personally I like to think of awesomeness as a given in everything we do (if it weren't awesome we wouldn't be doing it).

We're a Phoenix avatar: dying periodically is in our mandate.

Damn did we get unlucky. What are the chances that the X-men will show up to give us back-up? Or Deadpool? Or Dr. Strange? Or everybody? Seriously, we need everybody on this one.

Also, I just caught up!
