Excellent work, gentlemen. Now, as for the matter of your orders, the CSA was already in the process of constructing a new fleet of Star Destroyers, we'd simply like this order to be finished. Cut work on the SSD for now.

For more long-term projects, your instructions are as follows:

-Incorporate Admiral Jaeffis' capital ship suggestions, as disseminated previously, into a new run-line of Imperial-IIa class Star Destroyers to be tested, prototyped, and enter mass production over the next 1-2 years
-We'd like you to incorporate the avionics, maneuverability, and shielding of our TIE Defender models into the TIE Interceptor, which should additionally have a pair of missile ports added to its design. This new fighter, henceforth dubbed the TIE Vindicator, should be designed to gradually phase-out the TIE Fighter as the Empire's main-line general purpose fighter, and its specifications should be created with that necessary combination of quality, flexibility, and mass-producibility in mind.

COMPNOR Events

With the seizure of the Kuat Drive Yards, COMPNOR has found itself in the position of managing the largest ship-production center in the Empire. To this end, COMPNOR has founded the Coalition for Security, an office designed to administrate wartime procurements and production and liaise with the Admirality. Most bureaucratic personnel for the new office are drawn from the Coalition for Improvements, with hopes that war production can be streamlined with their experience.

With their... unfortunate decision to sell weapons to bandits, the Regency Council hereby declares that all CSA assets within the territory of the Galactic Empire are hereby nationalized. The Coalition for Improvements shall take management of their facilities and enterprises until such a time that they can be returned to private control

Ardus Kaine sat in the chair of his military headquarters on Sartinaynian, his homeworld. The fortifications were going according to plan ad with an Empress the Empire was slowly being unified. Yet work needed to be done. Isard had given him military orders and he would not stop to see them done.

Oversector Outer Events:
  • The construction of orbital defenses and fortifications continue.
  • The Shipyards of Jaemus and Yaga Minor are to continue TIE Defender ad Imperial II-Class Star Destroyers
  • The Intergalactic Banking Clan are allowed to invest in corporate locations.
  • Tactical Planning is to continue with an Intergalactic Banking Clan-funded military academy on Bastion (Sartinaynian)

I have heard of the disturbing reports from N'Zoth. This is bad, the Yevethan, were recorded as a genocidal race. They make Human High Culture and the Empire's doings towards Aliens look kind in comparison. The fact that they have an Executor-Class Super Star Destroyer is dangerous but I have complete faith in both of your abilities to stop this threat. Ave Imperatrix!

As long as I get most of the ships back when you are done with them, I have no objection to you taking them temporarily.

Mutiny at Corellia

Admiral Jaeffis

---
After a breakdown in talks with the Regency Council over the status of those fleets loaned to him by Grand Moff Tigellinus and of military maneuvers in the Core, Admiral Jaeffis has chosen to act in what he has deemed to be the best interests of the Galactic Empire and of Corellia. Summoning the Admirals of those four fleets in question under the guise of talking the situation through, Jaeffis would launch a mutiny, taking the four Admirals hostage and sending commandos and Stormtroopers to seize control of their ships whilst his own considerably larger fleet moved into position. Although at least half of the fleet would prove amenable to Jaeffis' arguments, a significant number of officers would not and as a result, fighting would break out on several ships as forces loyal to Jaeffis took control. At least four Imperial Star Destroyers would escape, one would have to be scuttled at Korth due to damage sustained, while the remainder have been folded into Jaeffis' forces.

As a result of this mutiny, Jaeffis has fallen in with a plethora of former Imperial officers who have broken with Coruscant and become the second-most powerful warlord in Imperial Space.

Summary

Admiral Jaeffis seizes control most of the four fleets from Grand Moff Tigellinus and breaks with the Empire.

Reports from the ISD Perseverance, one of those Imperial Star Destroyers that escaped Corellia, suggest that the vessel's escape is largely owed to one Captain Alix "Queen" Krennic. A dedicated Stormtrooper from Carida, it was Krennic who discovered the commandos attempting to infiltrate the Perseverance while investigating a supply shipment from Corellia on one of her now mythical hunches and bought the Captain of the Perseverance enough time to jump out of the system. Ever the workhorse, the Captain has so far managed to escape being rewarded, transferred, or otherwise separated from her squad for her role in saving the Perseverance.

The occasional short-lived victories by the Rebellion is no excuse for us to abandon the culture that makes the New Order worth preserving. You are all hereby invited to Rathalay for a soiree in honor of the birthday of our beloved Empress. Long may she reign.

Sincerely yours,
Grand Admiral Octavian Grant,
Lord of House Mecetti of Tapani, Supreme Marshal of the Tapani Home Defense Fleet (ret.)
To: Grand Admiral O. Grant,

Kol Huro, and I, are incredibly grateful for your invitation. Unfortunately, in light of recent events, I will not be able to attend in person. To leave my people unprotected and unguided after the rebellion of Admiral Jaeffis, especially during this time of turbulent transition, would be a dereliction of my duty. I do not wish to see any more so-called servants of the Empire take the opportunity to break away from our beloved institution, nor do I wish to leave a vacancy for some opportunistic fool, be they alien, warlord, or Rebel. However, to refuse outright would be most impolite, and so I shall arrange for a trusted aid of mine to attend. Be assured that should you have any questions of Kol Huro's output capacity, manufacturing requests, or otherwise, they will give you their response with the full weight of my own word.

Long live the Empire.

Sincerely,
Surface Marshall Varinius,
System Governor of Kol Huro, Chief Manufactor of the Seven Factories

A united and well led Empire...and death for all those who betrayed it.

I accept this honour with equal parts pride and saddness given the circumstances. We must discuss the defence of the Empire's borders privately

Naboo

A heavily concealed hangar, west of Theed
While the Empire continues to aggressively splinter, and the flashy parts of the Rebel Alliance gets the heady rush of sending fleets to and fro, Naboo has to content itself with development, and convert operations.

From various sources, supplying to help out an ally or in return for trade goods, Naboo has gotten a hold of something extremely valuable to them; experienced starfighter pilots. The pilots are being put to work as instructors in the skill-starved FNFC training programme, giving an immediate boost to the available knowledge base. Men with full and comprehensive training, and years of experience fighting and flying in a variety of combat craft, are invaluable in this role. Using newly ex-cadets as junior instructors and assigning large classes to each instructors to pad the numbers, is adequate for building basic competence in pilots, but doesn't produce men who won't need to learn a lot in their first real combat clashes. It will be some months until cadres will be graduating that will have benefited from this from start to finish, and FNFC command is anticipating that performance evaluations of already operational new units will reveal many need retraining in the future. But the affects on training are already being noticed, and hopes for a real, capable star fighter fleet are looking up.

The fighter craft themselves are being improved, thanks technical help from Sullust.

A Sullustan engineer, not super getting the N-1 starfighter hype
The N-1 was state of the art in 32BBY. It is now 5ABY, at least the N-1 never stopped looking amazing
The N-2 starfighter keeps the broad role, structure and look of the N-1 but incorporates decades of advancement. Its purpose is similar to that of an X-wing; a squadron should be capable of fulfilling starfighter duties and be able to threaten and compete with capitol ships. This means it is a fast, versatile, heavily armoured and sophisticated craft; an expensive craft. Less expensive than developing means to construct destroyers and cruisers and support elements though, and in the eyes of Rec Olie and the FNFC high command, still capable of meeting and beating them in battle.
The N-2 is currently in prototype stages, already N-1 production is slowing down to allow necessary production line refits. It is clear that upgrading existing N-1s to the standard of the N-2 will be impossible, more systems would need replacing than not. The N-1U is instead planned, incorporating the more cost-effective upgrades given the limitations of the N-1's technology and frame.
A full changeover of production to the N-2 is not envisioned, as it is judged more economical to produce a frontline N-2 for high-intensity and fleet operations and a cheaper N-1U for operations such as patrolling, scouting, in-atmosphere combat and so on.

Alongside the fighter programme, a more long-term project is underway in Naboo, to develop indigenous production of a small warship, around frigate size. Two frigates, one crew and one complement of support personnel, have been acquired from an neutral source. The crew and one of the frigates is being used for trials and training more crews for the future, while the other has been dismantled. The support personnel and the second frigate are being used to help the Naboo starship industry in this goal.

Designs call for a fast, heavily shielded craft, light on weaponry (and primarily holding anti-ship torpedoes), with a high fighter storage capacity. They would provide extra firepower versus capitol ships, a weapons platform with staying power, shields to hide behind, and a durable vessel to carry the fighters into and out of battle. Additionally they would give extra strategic mobility, having much larger hyperspace engines than a starfighter and providing time and opportunity for R&R for the starfighters between battle.
An additional variant of the N-2 is planned, trading hyperspace capability for more of everything else. The hyperspace engine is a huge part of the ship's power draw and weight, so this, the N-2C would boast very impressive tactical performance, at the cost of relying on the frigates to get into and out of combat. These would need the frigates to operate with any strategic mobility at all, but would make the synergy between the N-2s and the frigates even stronger.

Improvements to pilot quality are in the near future, improvements to the N-1 and a superior replacement, further on but forseable. Production of frigates to add strategic flexibility and mobility, 'eventually'.
