There is a way I propose you allow us to send our rookie pilots to attend your school.

Our training programme is how it is because of a need to stretch limited experience far to get the desired training rates. Accepting even more cadets will put a real strain upon it, and we believe you have many many more pilots than we do. If you send some qualified pilots to join our instructors we can accept more cadets too.

This is good news indeed, thank you.
Yes, once this has come to fruition we will not so much rely on luck and keeping our head down to survive. We have defenses, and eyes and ears spread around the sector, and we must hope it is enough to make it till then.

Wonderful! Regular pilots are very useful too and we do not want to deprive you of squadron leaders. You can rotate men into training tours here between combat also, don't feel that you need to send men here permanently.

Well these men are at the moment sitting on their haunches doing nothing so I figure why not just send them your way for a bit give them some leading experience while on my end rotating some men in need to experience leading a squadron

Greetings Navik, we have heard that you like ourselves are seeking to take a more secure stance in these troubled times, with the Empire's stability ever more in question, those who would seek independence for themselves must look to one another or risk being overwhelmed by the newly rising Imperial Warlords. Our people have always had much in common as hunters and warriors, and we would still to strengthen the ties between our worlds. We have recently restarted the Bounty Hunter's Guild and we would be honored if your people would seek membership of the Guild, and if you would be willing to contribute to the Guild on exchange for some involvement in the Guild and it's rules, as well as a share of its profits. Your people also are renowned as soldiers and military manufacturers, and we would be interested in purchasing your weapons and armor, and perhaps working together on mercenary or military concers if you are willing.

Do we have an approximate guess of how far our effective authority now reaches, with the spectre of warlordism haunting the galaxy--do we, for instance, remain in control of the Core/Colonies region? Is Kuat loyal? Likewise, what percentage of fleets and admirals remain loyal to us, how many have defected to Pestage, and how many have gone rogue?

Secret

Most of the Core remains with the Empire however we have lost contact with the Deep Core and believe that Admiral Eden and Grand Admiral Blitzer Harrsk have seized control of it. Kuat remains loyal as ever and as for fleets...Pestage lacks numbers but throughout the Empire, many fleets have gone rogue and we can no longer be certain how many remain answerable to Coruscant.

With the recent breakdown of Imperial Authority, I approach with a offer of protection. After witnessing what happened to Kamino the nature of the Imperial Navy is clear to see. The new warlords will likely be worse, unrestrained from orders from Coruscant. I do not desire to interfere with your government, for I personally do not care what system is in place.

In exchange for the protection we request your aid by access to your manufacturing capacity, in particular your starship industry. You will of course be compensated for your cooperation in the form of electronics and rare ores from Mustafar.

"So just let me get this straight. We get an escort carrier, and two other squadrons? Sweet!" Wes spoke in the squadron briefing room.

"No, we don't. I do," Wedge Antilles responded, looking at Wes, Derek, and Tycho, "Still can't believe I got given a 'promotion.'"

"Hey, at least they are finally recognizing you for what you've done. What was the official reason why they did this, anyway?" Derek responded in back, as the four rested after this mission.

"For the liberation of Wayland by that insane dude with the lightsaber. If only Luke was still here, so we could tell him how he missed that encountered," Wes responded in a joking grin.

"To those lost," Wedge spoke as the rest nodded all in kind for those lost in thought and debate. The aftermath of the Battle for Wayland, had left Rogue Squadron with another notch under its belt, but this time, it had been a significant boost for the squadron. In some sort of apparent move by Ackbar, Rogue Squadron had received a 'boost' of reinforcements and transition into a full fighter wing, with the Quasar Fire-class bulk cruiser, Wayward Liberator, attached as well. For the now Senior Commander Wedge Antilles, he was in command of Rogue Squadron (with ten X-Wings), Eagle Squadron (with twelve X-Wings), and Dagger Squadron (with eight Y-Wings (2 S3s, 4 A4s, 2 'LongProbes'), six A-Wings, and six B-Wings) along with their new home. Dagger Squadron had been something of an apparent 'composite squadron' brought together by Starfighter Command for Rogue Wing, and for the entirety of the new fighter wing, they were untrained together and it would take time they simply didn't have. They would have to baptized by fire in order to all survive together in their next missions...

Grand Admiral Thrawn
Empire of the Hand
ISD-I Admonitor

The Chiss Grand Admiral could be found in the art gallery of his Star Destroyer, examining a sculpture from a newly spacefaring species that was encountered by Captain Hux and his crew. Fortunately, the first contact went well, and negotiations as well as trade continue to occur. While studying the artwork, various things come to mind regarding recent events.

The battle at Kamino, for instance, didn't quite go according to plan. The other forces were not willing to work with his people, even abandoning them to the Kaminoan Dreadnaught cruisers. Perhaps assisting directly with someone else's operation would be unwise for now. Instead, he would launch his own attacks and coordinate with his allies from there.

He also heard that Wayland had fallen. He had a plan that relied on Spaarti clone cylinders and ysalamiri, but that would have to be in the back burner for now.

The late Emperor was able to maintain the entire Empire by himself using force, whether it's his force of personality, the Force, or just brute force. However, he was also the keystone. With him gone, it was only a matter of time before the system started to crumble.

By his own experience, perhaps the Empire can be unified once more by making alliances. He would know, for the Hand was built on such. However, not all of his peers would agree with the idea, and not all warlords and other factions would be, well, reasonable, so he would make allies wherever he can, and deal with those that he can't. Only in unity can the Empire find strength, and stand a chance against those who seek its destruction.

Finished with studying the sculpture, Thrawn proceeds to make plans on what to do next.

Actions: (@Sidheach)

1. Examine our logistics chain and see how it could be streamlined, fortified and concealed. Make backups and other contingency measures wherever possible.

2. Produce Nssis-class Clawcrafts to replace lost TIE Fighters and Interceptors. Produce Syca-class Bombers (which are capable of outrunning fighters) to replace lost TIE Bombers. Continue the production of Missile Boats which will be primarily used by our best squadrons and pilots.

3. Continue defense, peacekeeping and exploration efforts.

4. Continue and expand current research, economic, diplomatic and resource gathering efforts. We did find a lot of things (i.e. Resource-rich planets, stellar phenomena, new species) from our expeditions. Captain Hux's achievements in exploration are a good example for explorers to aspire to, and deserve recognition.

5. Begin construction of Brask-class tactical defense stations (Empire of the Hand space stations with 20 megamasers and 24 fighter and bomber squadrons) and Visvia-class defense platforms (Empire of the Hand space stations with 40 dual megamasers and 4 triple heavy megamasers) around our planets, starting with the most strategically important ones, to provide orbital defenses against enemy invaders.

6. Do an unannounced and discreet inspection tour of our territory. Listen to the people and the local governments. What concerns need addressing? The welfare and goodwill of the people are important.

7. Produce Star Destroyers and/or equivalent Chiss cruisers (i.e. Ascendancy-class, Syndic-class, Phalanx-class, Chaf-class), with the help of the Ascendancy if necessary, to replace the losses incurred at Kamino. See if our shipyards could be expanded as well.

8. Continue local recruitment and training efforts. Have quality control teams take a look at current infantry equipment and training methods to see how they could be improved. Adding Chiss technology and/or equipment (i.e. charrics, fractal-pattern camouflage coating) to stormtrooper armor and weapons could help, for instance.

9. Write a book on my (that is, Thrawn's) battle experiences and use of tactics, strategy, operations and logistics. This would be published, circulated and used for the training of our officers.

10. Begin a recruitment drive across the main Empire. Those who believe in the New Order, yet are hampered by the Human High Culture, are welcome to transfer to the Empire of the Hand. This applies to both civilians and military alike.

11. Send messages to the non-human Imperial officers who are not part of the Empire of the Hand. If they feel that they are persecuted and prejudiced by their peers, they could transfer to the Empire of the Hand where they can serve without fear of speciesism.

We share your views on mutually beneficial relationships. In these times of confusion, we see the need to build bridges and form strong relationships, however we do not seek to take any strong stance in favor of any one faction of the Empire over another, as we do not wish to offend or antagonize any groups who might be sensitive to potential insults or challenge to their authority at this time. However, a diplomatic relationship is most welcome, and we would be glad to open trade with any who would ask. We have much to offer, and I'm sure the same can be said of a man in your position. If you wish to discuss specifics, we would be more than happy to speak further.

I believe that we have enemies in common: the warlords which have chosen to become their own rulers.

It is understandable if in your perspective, the Empire of the Hand and the warlords are one and the same. However, there are differences. I secure the welfare and protection of my people, while the warlords do not do the same for theirs. They betray the ideals of the New Order and the Republic, are ambitious and power-hungry, and stroke their own ego at the expense of their people. They seek to build forces and wage war upon others for power and territory alone. Some of them have Executor-class Star Dreadnoughts, and I am sure you do not want those to remain at large. Some of them have track records of wanton brutality and cruelty, and I am sure you want those to stop.

What I ask for, is a ceasefire between my forces and your forces, the Empire of the Hand and the Alliance to Restore the Republic, in favor of fighting the warlords and removing their stain from the galaxy. They are threats to both of us, and as such, we will have better results if we fight them instead of each other.

Admiral Chart stood upon the Bridge gazing into the endless expansion of Space. Chart took it all in. It was a new year. Exactly 67 years since his birth. The Admiral stood there letting it all sink in. He remembered every conflict he bore witness to. Minor skirmishes with pirates and the Trade Federation Invasion of Naboo. The Clone Wars. The Battle of Mon Calamari. Of which he took part in. Serving as a Lt under Ackbar and having fought tooth and claw for his home and his Prince.

Chart runs a hand over his head along a large jagged scar from a Quarren soldier who was now one of Charts best Captains.

Chart did a about face and proceeded to his chair. Once in his chair he started sending off a few orders to be carried out.

1. Design testing the new version of The Mon Calamari Cruiser is to begin.
2. Anti-Imperial propaganda is to begin showcasing the riots and such happening against the Imperials.
3. Dispatch seeker units to look for droid foundry's and other lost things.
4. Begin recruitment drives aimed at Quarrens.

The Invasion of Bakura

"There's no way to describe the pain of having your very life force, the energy that sustains you, ripped from your body, nerve ending by nerve ending…" - Unknown Survivor

---
In another lifetime, in another galaxy, the Battle of Endor would not be so harsh a blow to the Rebellion and would spare the lives of several pivotal individuals who would go on to carry out great deeds and save the galaxy several times over before their time was done. Alas, in this lifetime those individuals would not be blessed with long life and would fall at Endor, dying as heroes one and all, while those they left behind were forced to pick up the pieces and try to make some sense of the madness that raged around them, unyielding and all-consuming, and threatened to upend a galaxy already on the brink of anarchy.

Of course there were some who were, being of a malevolent nature, decidedly enthused by such circumstances.

Jumping into Bakura, the Ssi-ruuk would strive to keep their arrival a secret, swiftly cutting the planet off from outside communications before laying waste to the defending forces and capturing the planet. There would be no hope for reinforcement, at the time the only nearby fleet belonged to the Rebellion and had been too badly mauled to go to anyone's aid, and so Bakura would fall unheard and unmourned. Millions would be carried off for unknown purposes, purposes which only the Ssir-ruuk and a lone human knew of, while the remainder would be enslaved and made to work on the construction of facilities that would allow their new masters to penetrate deeper into the galaxy.

Only luck would spoil the Ssi-ruuk's desire for secrecy with a routine patrol sent to investigate the silence at Bakura, it was initially presumed that the planetary governor had gone rogue and therefore the patrol was to ascertain the state of the planet's defences, that would limp back to Coruscant with news of a massive invasion fleet in orbit above the planet. Word would similarly be passed on to the Rebel High Command by spies within the Empire who have described the invasion fleet in such terms as "totally whack" and "wicked in the bad way" though there are some who hope that their beef is with the Empire and not the Alliance.

Summary

Ssi-ruuk take Bakura shortly after Endor.

Everyone now knows the Ssi-ruuk are there.

Coruscant
The city seemed to slow down just before dawn.

Some of the neon flickered out in anticipation of the coming sun and the late night revelers and wageslaves had slunk home to lurk until the cover of what passed for night on this garish planet. Rae had no sympathy for them, none for the taxi drivers, none for all the small squirming organic components of this great machine. They were like parasites in the metallic hide of this monument to the lasting glory of a galactic government.

The Fleet Admiral tied her still damp hair back and tugged her uniform jacket from its stand. Today was dress whites, some propaganda pieces arranged to firm up support for that gormless little girl they were resting their hopes on.

"Your caf marm."

"Ah, thank you Adea."

Rae took the steaming cup and let her aide lead the way out of the bedroom and to the one-time sitting room turned ad hoc office.

"I want updates on the Kuat situation, our Grand Moffs have the damned pencil pushers in a riot...and contact our people in ISB. The Empress' safety cannot be overstated and we're still in the dark over what surprises Pestage might have left behind."

Rite scribbled away, then pushed a pad over to Sloane.

"Right away. Defense Fleet reports as well as the department heads in Imperial Police. Shall I call the car?"

"Yes, quite. We'll do the rest on the way."

She needed to get the hell out of here. She needed the Ravager under her boots once more and the glittering lights in the rear viewscreens.

She needed action.

To this end the IDMR is charged with forming a commission for the modernization and standardization of our fleets and Oversector and Grand Admiral input is desired. Admiral Jaeffis is to be included for his proactive approach to deficiencies in the current ISD models. Priorities are placed on flexibility, replaceability, and military necessity in our current combat space with eyes to supremacy over precursor variants and heavier rebel hull plans.

*Typical cries of unreasonable demands from the bureaucracy and officers but with a significant portion of the naysayers off doing their own thing as warlords, plus Sloane backing it, there's enough pull to get the ball rolling*

Corellia Command Event: @Sidheach
Work begins on a new war fleet to reinforce the system's defences. The new Star Destroyers include numerous improvements though nothing likely to delay construction unduly.

We are both doing well since the ejection of the Empire, Sullust more so because of the demand for ships than Malastare but without the Empire breathing down our necks, we all benefit. You will benefit as well and we therefore extend the hand of friendship to the Royal House of Naboo and express our willingness to see you thrive just as we have.

*Talk with both planets indicate that Sullust has more to offer with the potential for their engineers to come over and work with Theed Hangers in updating the N-1 starfighter to make it less of an antique in the words of the Sullustans. While Malastare remains friendly, it has decidedly less to offer outside of generic trade*

We would be willing to work with you though such things are best left to the oversight of Admiral Ackbar.

Private

Wonderful, this is all good to hear, we accept this friendship and sentiment.

*Naboo accepts the offer of technical help with only a little bit of offense, they understand the N-1 is actually 20+ years old, and takes measures to ease trade with both worlds i.e. standardisation of measures and tariffs if not already done*

Understood, we will consult with Alliance command and Admiral Ackbar.

Does the Alliance have any major operations planned in our area of the mid rim/expansion region? We are not committed to a course of action yet, and are beginning to gather intel. However we think the Imperial world Vondarc present a major strategic threat to a cluster of Rebel and unaligned worlds, and we think it should be liberated in the near future. It is a major spaceport, close by to this cluster, and at the end of the Enarc run. The Enarc run connects it to a major concentration of Imperial worlds centered on Ropagi, next to the Harrian trade corridor. Vondarc would be an easy springboard for an attempt by Imperial forces here to re-subjugate a potentially secure Rebel region.

We believe we can rely on help from Sullust and Malastare in this, and would want to play a major, leading role in this operation. If you think this is wise, and can provide intel or pledge support for this, we can eliminate a major strategic threat to the Rebellion in the mid rim.

We are intrigued by your current arrangements vis a vis this Bounty Hunter's Guild. Are you willing to take mass contracts, and negotiate relaxed rates for bulk business?

We are indeed willing to take on mass contracts, and we are willing to negotiate a reduced rate for high volume bounty lists. Bounties over a certain value, that is to say, Bounties of high security, high risk targets, will need to be made individually and will be full price to represent the high level of danger inherent to the contract, and the level of skill we will require of the Bounty Hunters to take it on, accounting for putting together a competent team and expenses, etc.

We find this list acceptable, and will bar any of the named Rodians from the Bounty Hunter's Guild. We look forward to working closely with you and your people in the future.

Profit? Yes, we are profiting from this, profiting from you, from everyone really. Sentients need money, they need corpses too, we're good at both, very good. You want to deal with us then? We'll deal with you, deal freely, with knives in the back, you name it, and you can set up your guild here too.

We are glad you have agreed to our request, and look forward to furthering our economic relationship.

What is it that you want and can we have your ship?

From: Hzar Vressk
To: Barabel Clans @Sidheach

We want to trade with your people and dock at your starport, and possibly recruit some of your people as soldiers or members of the Bounty Hunters Guild, if you are willing to allow it. If you wish to have ships we can sell and trade some to you, particularly freighters and other trade ships which you would likely find useful, and some patrol and picket ships to protect your space from thieves or raiders.

5. Begin construction of more desalination plants on kamino to increase the amount of water we sell.

Due to the recent invasion of kamino, a new leader has risen up, general Logan. He has seen the mistakes of taun we and hopes to rebuild kamino in his image, which aligns with the imperials.

I hope that the past leader has not disturbed your trust in us, the kaminoans. We hope to rebuild our world and then join you. This task may require some help from you, which is what we ask, but once we stabilize we will work for the greater good of the empire.

Admiral, my apologies for the handling of operations at Kamino, your forces should never have been attached to a regular Imperial battlefleet as they were. Your specialized portfolio and xenophile policies make integration difficult, but cooperation even more necessary.

It's come to my attention you have made inquiries in to Imperial navy personnel. This needs to stop. Due to the complex political structures and relationships between our two organizational structures the appearance of an outside entity head-hunting promising officers and those aliens deemed fit to serve a purpose within our military is highly undesirable.

What can be arranged is a formal liaison and transfer program whereby we facilitate the movement of those uncomfortable or dissatisfied in our side of the equation to yours and vice versa.

I look forward to productive discussion and cooperation in future.

Wonderful.

Attached are a list of defectors from the logistics support branch of our armed forces with top security clearances. Issued mostly as a formality due to their handling of purchase orders for special projects they represent a minor but galling breach to our empire.

Find them, bring them to me alive, and we will see about more lucrative business.

This is heartening news. To further these goals we will be deploying a military advisor to assist you along with a regiment of storm troopers. How is Administrator Taun-We by the by?
