I wish to extend both my congratulations and condolences to Countess Rhysode. Condolences, on the sudden loss of a husband, and congratulations, on her impending childbirth.
I do, however, question her brother's claim that this unborn child is Lord Brentioch's rightful successor.
You see, Moff Rhysode, unlike the Moffship of Albraig, the office of Supreme Commander carries enormous responsibilities and great power. The power to command the armies and fleets of the Empire. Something that is slightly beyond the capabilities of an unborn child.
Secret
I am with you my lady. While I greatly respected Lord Brentioch and believe his unborn child deserves the Moffship of Albraig, the role of Supreme Commander is one that a child should not have. Personally I accuse Countess Rhysode's brother of seeking to use the poor unborn child as a way to claim the title of Supreme Commander without joining in on the discussions being made on the Imperial Center.

It has been a great year for both the Alliance and the Carosi people. After all these diplomatic talks, the Alliance has been wondering if the Carosi would like to join the Alliance, so we can further work together in practicing the Democratic ideals we both value.

Greetings great people of Pho Ph'ea. I speak on behalf of the Alliance of Free Systems. A representative democracy from the Northeaster part of the Galaxy. It originally started as a mutual defense pact against Mandalorian Aggression, and we where wondering if we could send a diplomat to Pho Ph'ea to discuss mutual cooperation against the Mandalorian threat.

To: Moff Rhysode of Aldraig From: Emperor Marcus IV Pallipodes
I suppose I should congratulate you, Moff Rhysode; while everyone else was content to merely wait for Brentioch to die before staking their own claim to his positions, you alone took a more proactive approach. You certainly have the audacity necessary for a Supreme Commander, but alas, the position requires rather more than that.
I give you this one chance - stand down your forces, relinquish the territory you have claimed, and attend the summit on Imperial Centre like everyone else. If your sister does indeed carry my old friend's child then that gives you a strong bargaining position, and if you are wise enough to abandon this course before serious damage is done to the Empire I will even be willing to overlook your... misguided enthusiasm. If not, then I will hold you and your family as traitors to the Empire, and have every last one of you shot.
Remember, Lord Rhysode - the power at my disposal is primarily checked by the unified opposition of the Moffs. This little stunt of yours has made you few friends and many enemies. When I come for you, will your peers stand in your defence? Or will they watch you fall with smug satisfaction, before gorging themselves on what remains of your wealth and territories?
I do not truly expect you to heed this warning, but in the interests of preserving the peace and out of respect for your family's long service I feel compelled to offer it at least once.
Think carefully before you reply, Lord Rhysode, for this opportunity will not come again.

Citizens of the Empire.
It is with heavy heart that I declare that my condolences have been offered to the Lady Rhysode, whose late husband, Supreme Commander Brentioch, has passed in a time where the stability of the Empire is certainly questionable, especially given recent events.
I'm sure that many of you have already heard of this on the holonet, or by word of mouth, but no matter what medium of communication you have heard of this tragic event, there is no doubt that this unfortunate death signals the beginning of a new age in the Empire's long and rich saga.
It is the beginning of an age where the internal stability is threatened by greedy and unfaithful Moffs carve up the Imperial map while the body of Brentioch scarcely rests in its grave. The beginning of an age where a nation of rebels and outcasts has marched under the banner of ideology, whilst conveniently protecting its own interests. The beginning of an age where the former glory of the Empire threatens to be defiled.
It is no longer a recognizable galaxy of peace, or, at least, it will not be soon, if the path of internal intrigue and espionage followed by the Empire is continued upon.
A war, the likes of which we have never seen for at least a thousand years, will erupt from the boiling pressure that builds up from this unhealthy environment, if something is not done by the right people.
That is why it is necessary for all of us, collectively, to strive for unity as members of the best organization in galactic history. As I have mentioned time and time again, unity between all of us is the only value that will carry us through times both prosperous and painful, wonderful and wicked, light and dark.
That is why. Nothing less, nothing more.
I bid you all well, and remind you yet again: we serve the Empire, and we serve with pride.
Following our convention at the Imperial Centre, I ask that you take a detour home, and stop by Alsakan, for I will be hosting a more locally based conference of Moffs in order to secure stability in these tumultuous times.
If you are not able to attend, I understand, as it is imperative that all must go prepare for the winds of change.
For the Empire.

I agree with m'lady Moff Paramexor: the powers held by the Supreme Commandership are not quite fitted for the abilities of a small child.
Furthermore, as a time of grief and sorrow, I suggest that all Moffs observe a brief period of memorial in respect of former Supreme Commander Brentioch.

Asserter-class Star Dreadnought being mobilized for the traditional First Year Parade
"Hail, Empress! Sovereign Lord of the Federated Imperium! Elected Leader of the Commonwealth!" Four thousand armored fists slammed against durasteel breastplates as the Imperial Marine compliment of the Wrath saluted their imperial master.
"At ease," Empress Haptes I said in full armor, wings and all. Four thousand armored boots slammed down in unison as they stood at ease.
Rear Admiral Ahrne strode down the bridge, herself followed by a small following of black armored bridge security staff. "My Empress, welcome aboard the Wrath."
"I am glad to be aboard," the Empress Hapted smiled tightly. Being on the Wrath for the traditional Year's End Parade around Oplovis and her surrounding worlds meant the Empress had at least survived one year on the throne. Granted, that was not such target to meat given these more peaceful times, but the Commonwealth's history was still scarred by the year of the six emperors. "How goes the ship?"
"Fairly well." The two turned together and begin strolling towards the observation deck, a mixed complement of Imperial Guard and bridge security personnel following them. "The old girl's been through a lot, but she's tough. We've got the majority of the generators online, and we'll be spinning up to full capacity soon enough."
"Good. I'd rather not consign another Super Star Destroyer as dead in orbit." Guardian was impressive looking, but it could do nothing more than its namesake. Guard Oplovis. "What about the mercenaries?"
"We've been handling the Ganks." Ahrne shrugged. "They're pretty easy to direct if you know what they like. Promise them the possibility to die in glorious combat, or battle scars, and they'll follow you into the Deep Core itself. The Mandalorians... well, the men are wary of them, but we've put them to good work running drills for the marines and trying to extract every bit of knowledge out of them that we can."
"Anyone you- I mean the ground forces and navy would like to keep?"
Ahrne took a second to think. "Not particularly. There's maybe a handful that I think would be willing to stay on for a more permanent job, but most of them are scoundrels and and exiles, or men filled with too much wanderlust or battlelust to stay at home. Not really any sort of men who we'd be willing to hire on for an extended contract, even should they decide to stay."
"And that handful you're looking to keep?" Haptes
"People who come from poorer or less well-off clans, mostly." Ahrne shrugged. "There's no reason to leave home when your clan is thriving, and looking to put all the warriors it can on the field. The Mandos fight against each other just as much as they fight against others, so every clan wants to put as many warriors as they can afford on the field."
"How does it come that every single member of my council is an expert on Mandalorian customs and culture?"
"Know your enemy, my lady." Ahrne laughed. "And we have been enemies of the Mandalorians a long long time."
"You're almost a Mandalorian, yourself, Ahrne," Haptes said with a teasing ton.
"If you were not my Empress, I would have spun on my heel and shot you immediately for that remark."
"Good that you did not, for you would have proven me right."
The two stopped and stared at each other, not that either of them could see anything through the other's glinting and polished facemask. After a frozen moment, both burst out in laughter. Good Agamarian humor. (As with much Agamarian humor, the punchline was simply Mandalorians)
"Anyway, the Wrath is spooling up. We'll get her crew to full readiness in no time, and the ship is dusted off and ready to go. The army and marines both are fully mobilized, and ready to go. All fleets have at combat readiness and pouring down the Braxant run, and we're getting ready to conduct join arms drills with the mercenary fleets you arranged for. We'll be at full preparedness for whatever the Empress wants."
"What I want, for now, is just a simple parade action."
"And after that?"
Haptes shrugged. "We take life as it comes Ahrne. Just follow the plans, for now."

The Alliance would like to thank you for your offer. We here at Telos have quite a bit of experience in teraforming. Telos itself had to undergo extensive terraforming projects after the Mandalorian and Jedi Civil war. Citadel Station still orbits around Telos today, as well as a minor, but thriving Ithorian population that have quite a bit of experience in that department.
Concerning the issues of Betha II, we have plans to colonize underground for now. The planet is indeed livable as of now, and large scale terraforming is off the table, at least for that system.
However there is one system that we have discovered that could be a better target for terraforming. The System of Maltha Obex is home to planet that was initially discovered in the years of the Old Republic. It's native population fled the planet after a massive extinction event that saw the planet enter an Ice Age after two of it's orbiting moons collided with each other. We here at the Alliance are looking for ways to warm up the planet, and make it livable again. We feel that would be a more appropriate target for terraforming than Betha II.
Still we are doing preliminary research. Only time would tell if terraforming would be the optimal solution. We will contact you with haste if the situation changes, or we gain new information.
Again, we thank you for your generous offer, we will certainly call upon it in the future.
Suffice it to say that of the Pirate-Queen C'ynn Skywalker, few of her neighbours were of a favourable disposition. Seen as an interloper by many, a pirate who had upset the fragile balance in the region by toppling the previous regime, the presence of the Skywalkers on Ord Trasi was resented by many and considered to be an unthinkable imposition. It would be for that reason that multiple efforts would be made over the years to dislodge the Red Lady, ranging from assassination attempts to failed uprisings, though none would succeed in their intended task of uprooting the Skywalker. Such failures, however, would not dissuade future efforts and so it would be that, after time spent quietly brooding, that C'ynn Skywalker's neighbours would strike again, this time with far greater success than ever before.
Dispatching agents into Ord Trasi, both the Oplovians and the Khaine would manage to incite several revolts against Skywalker rule, using lingering elites and dissatisfied citizens to stage uprisings using smuggled weapons and provide for both states similar, yet separate, causes for intervention. Precisely who acted first is unknown, though the hastiness of the Khaine plan would suggest that their actions were prompted by the Oplovians, but both would manage to strike into Ord Trasi at similar times with the Khainite fleet hitting Dantooine whilst the Oplovians struck at Ord Biniir. In both instances, the Skywalkers would be driven back with stout resistance at Ord Biniir only serving to delay the overwhelming display of firepower, with the SSD Wrath in attendance, and Dantooine being swiftly ceded as fleets were drawn back to defend Ord Trasi.
At this point, as is often the case, things grew confused with the Mand'oate of Adumar joining the fray. Concerned by reports of Oplovian interference on Garqi and the risk posed by either Oplovis or Khaine seizing control of the shipyards at Ord Trasi, Adumar would choose to intervene, initiating hostilities at Garqi as a smaller Oplovian force attempted to seize the system. At the Battle of Garqi, the smaller Oplovian fleet would be driven back, suffering light losses, and spark alarm in the Commonwealth as fears of a Mandalorian attack began to echo throughout the halls of power as Adumar, far flung though it may be, remained a nominal vassal of the Mand'alor. Such fears would nevertheless prove misplaced with Adumar merely contenting itself with holding Garqi and leaving a reserve force behind while it swung back round towards Entralla, attacking the system while Khaine was otherwise occupied in Ord Trasi.
The Adumari attack at Garqi and then the inadvertent relief provided to Ord Trasi through it's attack on Entralla, which prompted Khaine to stall it's offensive in order to withdraw forces back to defend it's space, would be just enough to save Ord Trasi from annihilation with C'ynn being left free to focus her forces on a defence of Ord Trasi. Although outnumbered, Ord Trasi was at it's heart a fortress like many other shipyards of it's size, bristling with defences and able to withstand heavy offensives, and thus the Pirate-Queen was in good stead to withstand the Oplovian offensive at this place. Bringing together the bulk of her forces, C'ynn would make the Battle of Ord Trasi a bitter affair, blunting the Oplovian attack and eventually damaging the SSD Wrath, forcing the Oplovians to withdraw to Mygeeto for fear of losing the vital warship.
News of the successful defence of Ord Trasi would then come hand in hand with news of the fall of Entralla, barring pockets of isolated resistance on the surface, to the Mand'oate of Adumar. Having had the benefit of the initiative in their offensive, the Adumari would successfully repulse the relief force sent to break the siege by Khaine before then launching ground forces to seize both the planet and it's valuable shipyards. The Entralla Shipyards themselves would fall swiftly, Adumari swordsmen carving through the station through multiple points and seizing it mostly intact, though the planet would prove to be of sterner stuff with heavy street to street fighting occurring in major centres across the world. Despite that, Entralla would fall to Adumar by the end of the fighting season, crippling the Khainite military with both Entralla and Ord Trasi now beyond their ability to access, thus essentially knocking Khaine out of the war and allowing Adumar to turn it's attention eastward towards Ord Trasi and Oplovis.
Summary
Khaine and Oplovis launch uprisings in Ord Trasi before invading.
Dantooine and Ord Biniir fall.
Adumar repulses Oplovian ships at Garqi prompting fears of a Mandalorian invasion.
Adumar then attacks and seizes Entralla, forcing Khaine out of the war.
Oplovis takes Mygeeto but fails to seize Ord Trasi, being driven back by defending forces.

The point at which an 'anti-piracy operation' involves planetary invasions and pitched fleet battles over shipyards is the point where the veneer of anti-piracy is revealed for the farce it is. The population of Ord Trasi is not responsible for the past sins of their Queen, regardless of her legitimacy, and a war deriving wholly from her past sins is an abhorrent form of collective punishment.

Do not mistake a pirate who has seized the throne of a kingdom by raw naked military force and represses her people with that same might, people who rise up in popular rebellion against her even as we speak, for a Queen. We have lost many to pirates, including stakeholders of the Imperial Blood, and we will not allow the existence of pirate state existing on our north-western border. If you wish us to acknowledge a pirate, bring back the lives of all those pirates have stolen including our Imperial Brother. If you are able to return the dead to the living, we shall consider it.
We shall consider peace with Khaine and Adumar, for although the former insult us and the latter are Mandalorians, we recognize them as fellow Northern states and hold no great grudge against them, understanding that they what they must out of not greed but for their states and for their people. But there is no peace to be found with pirates. We shall continue operations until Ord Trasi is clean of pirates, every last one.
We are not appeasers and we will not roll over on our bellies against criminal and a warlord for the sake of a false peace. Peace is a byproduct of victory against tyrants and autocrats. If you find yourself unable to fight for victory, then shred your hopes of peace. They will never come.

Far as the other goes, hope you're not planning on leaving me here while you have all the fun, I wouldn't miss this for Imperial Center, so unless you plan on chaining me to a wall, better make some space for me and my gear.
Ula Fel felt better than she had in a long time as she relaxed down in the dungeons, laying in bed with her BF. It was nice to get away from the affairs of state, or just plain vent once in a while. "And well, Kestrel, I don't think the guards let you read the paper down here, but if you haven't heard, the Supreme Commander is dead, and well, the whole north of the galaxy is or will shortly be on fire."
Kentral "Kestrel" Spavy let out a sigh.
Ula just continued onward, unconcerned. "And because of that, I get daily reports about all kinds of crazy shit." She said, as she sat up. "For once I'd just like to hear 'And we're going to war with Denon,' or something like that. I mean I'm a simple person. All I want is adventure, and maybe killing people with my lightsaber? It can't be that hard can it?"
Spavy saw his chance. Maybe if he played his cards right, he could see natural daylight again sooner. "You could forget all of that and run away with me?" He said nervously, "We could take a ship and become bounty hunters or something, just the two of us. Maybe go become Warlords in some other region if you got bored."
Ula shoved him back down on the bed, and spoke, "Aww, Kestrel, you know exactly what to say. But I'm a busy woman, I have duties to my people, and can't just abandon them, or force my sister to become Moff. So As much as I really want to go, I can't. Which means you can't either honey."
Spavy just mentally shrugged. It had been worth a shot.
ACTIONS-
- Corellian forces on the Northern border are placed on a higher alert because of the unstable situation in the Empire.
- Elections occur, nothing really changes in government.
- Corellian Military prepares for war, just in case.
- CEC wins a contract to develop a new class of Corvette-sized minelayer to replace the venerable CR 1240 'Slopewing' class.
The Moffship of Alsakan wishes to send a representative to pay its respects at an event that no doubt will be one of the larger ones in the Imperial system. While the Alsakan Subsector fully intends on beginning its own memorial services as well, there is no better way to remember such a great figure than to attend a memorial that will reflect the excellent traits former Supreme Commander Brentiich has become known for: determination, ingenuity, and commitment to duty.
If it is possible to secure a spot at the service, it would be much appreciated by the Alsakan government, and, more specifically, myself.

Foundation of the Northern League of Minor Powers
A Signatory to the Northern League of Minor Powers
Preamble
Sophonts of the Rim, the Colonies, the Core, heed us now! The horns of war call once more! Sirens, beckoning brave men and and women and droids to death and doom. Old orders crumble! The Empire fracturing, the Mandalorians grasping, the Hutts contesting, and the Republic scheming. As the lights are snuffed out across the galaxy, as the stars themselves gutter and grow dim WE, the Free Peoples of the Galactic North, must take a stand. We will not be pawns in the games of the so-called Great Powers! We will not be their proxies, their puppets, their dogs. Let the old dams give way and the chaos-tide come. In the North we will raise a bulwark high and weather the seething waters! Out of this strife we will build a new order, a league of peers, a coalition of equals! Beholden to none but each other.
We are the NORTHERN LEAGUE! And we will hold our homes come what may.
Articles of the League
It is hereby established that the powers of Oplovis-Agamar Commonwealth, the Centares Concordate, the Rouge Sith, the Alliance of Free States, and the Kingdom of Greater Tion should come together to form a League of friendship to promote the interests of minor powers, free trade, and peaceful relationships between legitimate minor powers in the Galactic North.
To this end, all member states of the Northern League will immediately agree to:
1. Sign nonaggression pacts with other members and defensive pacts to come to each other's aid if attacked by a power outside of the Northern League
2. Agree to settle disputes between fellow league states through an League Council of Peers rather than war and conflict, arbitrated by respected neutral powers (such as the Disciples of the Force)
3. Coordinate all operations combating pirates, the Crimson Sith, and all threats deemed Hostis Sophantes Generis
4. Allow free movement of trade and commerce through each other's borders in times of peace, and military movement in times of war
The League's diplomatic headquarters are hereby to be established upon the world of Columnx as a neutral state, with the permission of the Baron.

Ah, yes, the old battle-cry of the Second Republic with even less justification. Your talks of anti-piracy, tyrants, and autocrats are a self serving lie. You do not care for the people of Ord Trasi and you only nominally care about C'ynn's crimes. You have invaded for control over the shipyards at Ord Trasi.
Were this not the case you would have attempted to deal with the situation in a way that is not a full on invasion. Diplomatic pressure or economic sanction. Offering C'ynn a retirement. An ultimatum. Demanded she submit to arrest and trial for her crimes.
Were this not the case you would have taken measures to reassure Adumar and Khaine that this was not a play for the shipyard, not an existential threat to their sovereignty.
Were this not the case you would, and should, have publicly promised to restore the sovereignty of Ord Trasi at its original borders.
Were this not the case you would not have brought Garqi into the war.
Your pretensions of nobility are exactly that, and while the Disciples seem eager to accept them the Foundation is not obligated to accept falsehoods at face value. The Republic, at least, is truthful about what they want and why they want it. The Mandalorians do not start an interstellar war and claim it is for peace. These actions are the actions of those who have fractured the galaxy with constant war for a thousand years.

We have paid you tribute and we have given you gifts, and yet your tributaries still yet attack us in our campaigns. We would like to request that you restrain Adumar from war with Oplovis-Agamar, and help negotiate a white peace between the Commonwealth and the Mando'ate. We seek peace with the Mando'ate and only seek the destruction of the illegitimate pirate state to our north.
Private
We reach out to Mandalore seeking to prevent further conflict between the Mando'ate and Oplovis-Agamar. If this offer is not accepted, Oplovis-Agamar may have to resort to more desperate measures, and we will be unable to guarantee the territorial integrity of the Mando'ate.
The Mand'alor has limited ability to restrain tributaries that are so far away. It would be recommended that you return to status quo ante bellum, but we are not much interested in pressing the issue. More important matters like the reunification of Mandalore's core remain more important.
Private
You broke it, you bought it. Reach out to Fondor-1 or some other peace-making organization, we're firmly uninterested in mediating your wars for you; after all, we are a clannish, aggressive people, who have little diplomatic tact. We are sure that your vast diplomatic corps are for more than just sinecures.

Greetings, Administrator Brusulam. I have a small request to make of your organiza...
Forgive me, niceties were never my strong suite, and that is truer now than it ever was.
I need your help. For the past year, I've been readying for war with the Sith of Bilibringi. They're heavily armed, steeped in mystic powers I do not understand, I don't like them, I don't trust them, I fully expect to be attacked by them...
In short, they're exactly like every other Moff currently holding power in the Empire.
So.
I wish to open talks with them. To at least attempt to resolve matters without bloodshed.
But given that I have dragooned fleet after fleet into my service on the grounds of "We cannot trust the Sith scum to our North!"....
I trust you can see how attempting to open such negotiations on my own would be...problematic.

We could tell you of our negotiations with the worlds surrounding Ord Trasi and our offers of full sovereignty and independence for many of the worlds ruled by the pirate 'lady'. We could tell you of the military need for secrecy regarding our plans, or our military concerns regarding her aiding the Starwalker clans to the North.
But we suspect it would ultimately change nothing. You are committed to your path and so are we. Your condemnations will not deter us. We will seek to dismantle the pirate 'kingdom' of C'ynn the Red, no matter how fiercely you scorn us for doing so.
That said, despite this condemnation, Fondor humanitarian fleets will still be given free access through our territory (we hope that they do not abuse this privilege), and we shall offer tentative cooperation for all activities outside of our antipiracy operations, or the antipiracy operations of our allies that the Fondor Foundation has similarly condemned, such as the Rouge Sith's or any of our Northern League Partners'.

The Oplovis-Agamarian Envoy to the Northern League would like to propose the following motion:
1. Extend an invitation to the Aqueous Orders of the RIm to join the Northern League given its strong anti-piracy position and stance on free trade and open economic movement
2. Assuming the Aquous Orders accepts the invitation, waive the presumptive 3 year probation period for immediate induction of the Aqueous Orders as a full fledged member of the league
Note: As with all league proposals regarding induction of new members, Motion No. 1 requires a unanimous vote to pass
We invite the associate members of the league to weigh in with their opinion as well.

Very well. We respect that the Manda'lor has his own issues to deal with. We wish you luck in your endeavors of reuniting your people.

Understood. If you do not care about Adumar, we will prosecute the war against Adulmar as we see fit.

We would be happy to mediate talks in the name of averting a war, and with your permissions will take the public first steps in demanding talks in order to minimize internal pressures on your part.
