CONFIDENTIAL

I would like to inquire the possibility of purchasing your CCIR Needle weapons. Disclosing the amount of credits is out of the question, however, I will need enough of these 'Needles' to arm twenty-five Star Destroyers.

Would you be interested in fulfilling this order, preferably as soon as possible?

TO: Governor of Foerost; Governor of Ruan @Sidheach
FROM: Moff Thelstar of the Alsakan Subsector

CONFIDENTIAL

Of course I do not intend on meeting these plebes directly, I plan on meeting through an intermediary or two.

The problem with going through the process you have described is that there may soon come a time where we cannot afford droid labor as a substitution, because the credits available would be better spent on defenses.

As is such, we must ensure the loyalty of the workforce through a program I intend on introducing, titled 'The Imperial Shipyard Union of Ruan or Foerost'. State-run, it will cooperate with the corporations of the aforementioned planets by compromising between both of the parties, and will provide 'concessions' that appease the disaffected laborers.

Please, do not question my orders again. My clerics will provide you with further details. Tell the laborers that I would prefer this conversation to continue through more private channels.

For the Empire.

Fellow Moffs, I politely ask that your presence (whether through holoconference or in person) be at a Mofference that will discuss a grand strategy for the inevitable crisis that looms over us like a dark cloud.

It is our duty to ensure stability in the Empire, and there is no better way to do so then fusing our goals into common ones.

From: Leyane

My friend, I send this message to express my condolences, and to commiserate. It would appear that we each have suffered from subordinates overstepping their bounds, leading to the recent unpleasantness on Venjagga-Prime.

The business venture that was recently liquidated by my factors...well, I know that you would not jeopardize our relationship with such a...risky investment. Not that the mercurial nature of said venture was any excuse for their actions, the proper course would have been to notify you of the foolishness your employees had engaged in and allow you to resolve it.

The way my subordinates chose to resolve the situation, it was an insult, and one that I take full responsibility for. I will see that the parties responsible are suitably chastened, and that such errors are not repeated. As a more concrete gesture of contrition, I believe a reduction in the tariffs on your other ventures would be in order, at least for the next three revenue cycles.

My friend, I understand that you may be compelled to take certain actions in response, and I assure you that I bear you no ill will for such. It is merely business.

But.

As I have personally accepted responsibility for the insult and the lost revenue resulting from it, should such actions be directed against any parties other than myself...I would consider that a personal slight. And I do not believe either of us wishes for this to become a personal matter.

*Glaikon makes various niceties and all the rest and promises to approach the matter in an appropriate and thoughtful fashion*

From: Moff Baltzar Vall of Rendili

I thank Moff Thelstar for his kind words to the Committee. It is ironic that he speaks of ambition and decorum, when his own allies have already berated me for not declaring him my loyalty! Yet is there not still a Supreme Commander enduring his final hours in Brentioch? It seems he hopes to muscle his way to the position with these veiled threats regarding 'the wisest choice', and then he can do away with any notion of decorum and respect for the nobility altogether.

Nonetheless, there is no point in denying that the Empire is in a precarious position. I believe it would be best if we resolved this situation in the light of day, and not hide behind a veil of platitudes as some would prefer. In light of this I would like to announce that once the Supreme Commander, may he be one with the force, has departed us, I will be hosting a summit or... ahem... mofference... will be occuring on Rendili with the greatest immediacy to determine what course of action should be taken. Some have already forwarded their intention to attend, but this is a meeting that is open to all the interested parties of the Empire to speak and observe. This is the only way to resolve the situation with the utmost respect for Imperial stability, order, civility and legitimacy.

The Moff of Rendili is most kind, to offer the use of his planet and facilities for such an important meeting, and I would like to express my particular appreciation for the respect and responsibility that such a conference implies. In the normal course of things, I would be delighted to attend. However, I would be a poor guest indeed if I did not consider the potential difficulties my presence might impose upon a host, especially when combined with so many other luminaries - why, the security protocols alone would be the stuff of nightmares.

I would therefore make an offer of my own; let this summit occur, not on Rendili, but upon Imperial Centre. The capital has all the necessary facilities and personnel in abundance, and the staff here are well acquainted with the logistical business of handling so many Moffs and their associated retinues. That many among you already have properties and interests upon the world will surely make accommodation and security easier by far to handle, and the comfort of familiar surroundings in a tense negotiation is not to be discounted. Nor is the presence of one's own security compliment.

And, of course, there is the symbolism of the matter. Make no mistake, Ladies and Gentlemen, the eyes of the galaxy are upon us. Let us show them, not a petty collection of bickering powers hiding behind their own borders, but a strong and unified group of peers, holding a civilised meeting on the closest thing to neutral ground as might be easily found.

Your Imperial Highness, that is an excellent idea.

I have had so much to attend to in my own sector that I did not believe I would be able to commit to the journey to the outer reaches of Imperial space for such a conference. Now there shouldn't be a problem in the slightest.

I will make every effort to attend this Imperial summit, and will beseech all of my fellows to join me in the venture.

Aurelian Sector supports His Majesty's proposal.

Unless anyone wants to hold the summit on Denevar, with my fleets in orbit and my House troops garrisoning the planet, with me setting the itinerary and providing all the support personnel, not that I would ever dream of using such a situation to try and obtain undue influence over the choice of Supreme Commander, Moff Vall.

The following Mandalorian systems have refused to accept the ascension of the Mand'alor and are declared to be in insurrection.

  • Thustra
  • Tierfon
  • Levian
  • Obroa-Skai
  • Paonid
  • Graven
  • Thisspias
  • Jendorn
  • Alpheridies
  • Carest
[Potentially Korda, Pengalan, Asart, Sid didn't fully delineate them. If these worlds are not majority Mandalorian/ruled by a Mandalorian clan ignore their participation in this list, the Mand'alor is not at war with them and is not treating them as rebels. If any world on this list is not Mandalorian, please let me know and I'll remove them from the list].

The following Mandalorian systems have followed up this insult by erecting their own Mand'alor, but there can only be one. They will be brought to heel and forced to surrender just as well, and their false Mand'alor will be removed.
  • Von-Alai
  • Contruum
  • Cartao
  • Gizer
  • Lantilles
  • Pirin
  • Carcel
  • Sermeria
  • Taanab
Attempts at negotiations have failed. Aid workers will be allowed on worlds during the insurrection based on military discretion, in order to prevent collateral damage of aid workers during military operations.

Aid to the insurrection, including but not limited to: smuggling weapons and ordinance, providing military intelligence, providing mercenaries, or direct military support will be treated as a hostile act by the Mand'alor. Specifically speaking of mercenary action, during the normal course of war the provision of mercenaries to the enemy is not a hostile action. Since this is an internal Mandalorian matter, however, mercenary contracts would be the aiding and abetting of an internal rebellion and thus a breach of Mandalorian sovereignty.

In case potential questions are fielded regarding the Mando'ate, the Mand'alor considers the duty of worlds under Mandalorian control, not worlds with minority Mandalorian populations or even worlds with majority Mandalorian populations under non-Mandalorian leadership, to accept the dominance of the Mand'alor and contribute to the best of their ability. Despite its far-flung location, the Mando'ate has sworn fealty and provided material aid to the Mand'alor in the form of their blasword and custom starfighter. By comparison, despite their proximity to the Mand'alor, the listed worlds have either refused to acknowledge his authority or else erected a Mand'alor in strict defiance to him.

If the Manda'lor is so perturbed by the Commonwealth intensifying patrols down its own tradelanes, perhaps we might have a solution to allay your fears. We will allow no more than five Mandalorian fleets to join our patrols along Cassander, our westernmost world, and observe so that it is clear to the Manda'lor that we have no hostile intentions upon the world of Bandomeer, provided Mandalorian fleet commanders behave themselves and listen to instructions by Oplovian Admirals.

In addition, we would request the Manda'lor station additional forces to keep the Celnaon Spur clear of any raiders and/or pirates. It is our opinion that given that it is because of the actions of the Manda'lor that Celanon no longer has its own navy to patrol its hyperlanes, it is only fair that the Manda'lor seek to provide for its protection.

The Moff of the Alsakan Subsector seconds this motion made by our intelligent and wise Emperor.

Perspective was what was needed.

Intelligence was a necessity, of course, but so was fuel. It was straightforward, a simple efficiency equation of input and output, to be improved, constantly, in one direction. Intelligence was nothing more than processing power, the ability to move certain subatomic particles in a specific way and tabulate their results. The faster and more accurately this could be achieved, the greater one's intelligence. Here, at the heart of a moon shot through with veins of computing machinery, technological eras layered over each other like sediment, intelligence existed in abundance.

Perspective was different. It could not simply be increased, as though drawing back on a viewfinder. Nor could it be produced, as though cranking out another droid. It could only be honed, developed over time. Each perspective was an artisanal work, forged independently and offering value even in the flaws and quirks of its individuality. It was therefore detestable. It was therefore necessary.

They were not ghosts, the voices that spoke to Parzhisi. They were constructs, designed to filter information according to distinct and arbitrary parameters according to the personalities and experiences of the geoshii who had contributed them to the greater whole. They were not ghosts, or separate individuals at all, but perspectives, prisms through which a single ray, the light of intelligence, refracted into countless solutions and concerns and prejudiced predictions.

At the corner of Parzhisi's awareness, tinnier voices clamoured for attention, living droidminds feeding fresh information into the greater pool to be filtered, observations from surveillance drones and conclusions from lab reports and political projections collated from the carefully quarantined HoloNet outlets. All processed by a single stream of intelligence, filtered through a thousand thousand viewpoints.

In this manner, perspective was achieved. In this manner, Geonosis survived, cradled in the cerebral heart of every Queen.

After another moment, Parzhisi's cyberspine retreated back into his carapace like a snake fleeing into a tunnel, and he staggered free from the wall, mechanical mandibles clicking against each other in a hiss of release. The sheer breadth of thought offered by his union with the Queen quickly faded, thoughts messily recategorized into [his own] and [others], and he rearranged himself as the aggregate conclusions marshaled in his cyberbrain.

War erupting on Geonosis' doorstep. Eras ending across the galaxy. Irrationality reigning supreme.

[No matter the perspective/inevitably], it was [clear/obvious/desirable] that something needed to be [done/laboured toward].

Public actions
  • A full third of the Geoshii cybrid fleets marshal in the Ea system, adding an active component to the already labyrinthine protections surrounding the planet Geonosis itself. With the war for Tattooine heating up, it seems that the wary, insectoid cyborgs are taking no risks when it comes to their homeworld's safety.
  • While each of Geonosis' cybermoons tend toward a certain obsession or specialty, one in particular has always captured the imagination of the galaxy at large. Now the famed Battle Moon begins its 357th tour by heading on a loop around Hutt Space, picking up fighters from the planets it passes and entering them into a tournament broadcast across the galaxy. Competitors are shuttled between great caverns occupied by shifting mechanical arenas in artificial atmospheres, facing scenarios ranging from the simple to the historical to the absurd, solo battles and grand war games and brutal melees, with a range of cybernetic enhancements and exotic weapons available for purchase with their winnings. Its next stop: Kwenn.
  • The red cybermoon Scotiidoge, known to a select few as a specialist in the "org" half of the word "cyborg", has sent ripples through the bounty hunting world by offering a notable increase on all bounties assigned to gen'dai criminals, provided they are brought in alive. As their biology makes it difficult to take the exotic alien race in any other state, a number of hunters are said to be gearing up with high-end shock weaponry to claim a bounty or two.

Treaty of The Yellow Horns
  • Mutual acknowledgement of respect and admiration by Hsskor Dominion and the Mand'alor
  • Mutual reduction of trade tariffs between Mandalorian trading clans and Hsskor Dominion
  • Non-Aggression Pact
  • Establishment of permanent embassies
  • The Hsskor Dominion agrees not to sell mercenaries to any state Mandalore is at war with.
  • If Mercenaries are contracted to a state before a declaration of war, the above clause is not in effect. The Hsskor is otherwise entirely free to sell mercenaries to any and all states, even those unfriendly to the Mand'alor.
  • Hsskor Dominion agrees to embargo Southern Mandalorians and confirm only one legitimate Mand'alor on Mandalore
Independent of the treaty, the Mand'alor has accepted a contract for Trandoshan specialists in urban warfare.

Fall of Andosha II
(Backdated to Turn One)

The Prince of Andosha at the Time of his Capture

---
Occurring simultaneously to the Socorran attack on Tatooine, the Tuskens of Merkat would launch an attack of their own upon the Andosha System. Colonised by the Aqualish, Andosha II was a small world ruled over by a crimelord turned royal, a former pirate called Prince Nudo, who would have the great misfortune of ruling a system that separated the two Tusken seccessor states from one another. Stuck between a rock and a hard place, the Prince would offer no resistance to the Merkati attack, instead ordering his soldiers to stand down while he awaited his capture in a local cantina, Bothan whiskey in one hand, a twi'lek in the other, as cool as an arachnid cucumber. The cause for his calm would only become apparent later when it was revealed that, whether as a calculated move or out of pure spite, that the Prince had outright sold the Andosha System to Hrakkus the Hutt thus making the Merkati invasion a trespass against the Hutt himself.

Naturally Hrakkus has since declared his intention to liberate Andosha and restore his good, dear friend the Prince to his throne.

Summary

Andosha falls without a fight.

Prince Nudo sells Andosha to Hrakkus the Hutt just prior to it's fall.

In light of recent events the Fondor Foundation is reinforcing the classification of the Ewoks and Droid Free State as Enemies of All Sentients. We ask that powers assist the Cereans war against the Ewoks if they are able and to ignore the Republic's offense against the Droid Free State. Attempts to assist any Enemy of All Sentients, including by hindering war efforts against them, should be met with blacklisting and economic sanction by the galactic community.

We also condemn the unprovoked assault upon Andosha by Merkat and ask that the Tusken Successor States return control of Andosha to its legitimate government as well as to allow an impartial investigation to occur to determine the accuracy of accusations of violence against civilians in the Tatooine system levied by Hrakkus the Hutt. We ask for this in the name of preventing an outbreak of large-scale war in the galactic south.

We similarly condemn the invasion of Lorell by Onderon and the expansion into Skywalker Space by the Rouge Sith.

Alliance Events
Turn 2

The Colonization of Betha II:

Millennia ago, the planet of Betha II was once a thriving Republic World. It once was a great port world that contributed to the sector's economy. However it all changed once the planet dried up, and what was once a hospitable world became a barren dry one. Because of its incredibly fast acting climate change, the world was abandoned and eventually picked up by smugglers for some time. The Smugglers eventually made use of it as a hideout, and built great underground tunnels to establish a base, from which they could operate. As the years passed, even the smugglers moved on, or where ratted out of Betha II. Now the alliance has begun colonization efforts, and has reclaimed the underground bases. The alliance seeks to make an outpost there, and eventually see if underground expansion could make this world thrive again.

Betha II

The World of Betha II

The Mining of Eol Sha:

A thousand years ago, a set of entrepreneurs and investors mounted a gas mining operation. The enterprise proved to be a failure, and was eventually canceled as rising costs overcame profits. The workers where left to fend for themselves. The planet of Eol Sha was a geologically active volcanic planet, and it proved to be incredibly hostile to the workers. Eventually an orbiting moon ended their suffering when it impacted on the surface, greatly damaging the planet and destroying the moon. Now, a millennia later, the Alliance makes a return to the system, with intent to mine the planet's remains. They've created an outpost in this system, and have gathered investors to mine valuable gas and minerals to power the Alliance's economy.

Once again, the Moff of Aurelian looked at a recent holo of her granddaughter...but this time, the old woman seemed almost wistful.

The younger Paramexor was frozen in the middle of gesturing at something outside the holocam's range of view, wearing an outfit that showed entirely too much arm and leg for Lyane to approve, but it was her granddaughter's expression that held the old Moff's attention.

Elyria was smiling, almost laughing, something Lyane hadn't seen in...Father Above, how many years? Before the girl entered the Academy on Mrisst, at the very least. The old woman reached with a steel limb, claw resting lightly on the image's shoulder, a show of affection the real thing would have almost certainly shrugged off. Something blurred the edges of Lyane's vision...and then she turned to the other young woman in the holo, and her lips immediately pursed into their usual line.

A quintet of wire thin extensions ratcheted out from each of her prosthetic arms, implements for fine manipulation, not mayhem, and she began to peck away at her office's data terminal, replacing the still of Elyria and the Moff of Commenor with a host of other images.

Intelligence briefings, articles from holojournals (and more than a few hologossip rags), more pictures of Voda, pictures of a various other women (several Misstryl Shadow Guards, a female fighter ace, a grainy image of a cloaked but unmistakably female figure labeled "Darth Hegira??!!!") and in no time at all the Moff of Aurelian was radiating her usual cloud of barely suppressed fury as she typed another series of commands into the terminal.

----------------------

To: Elyria Paramexor

You have done well, Granddaughter. The Kuati fleets will be on station soon, and your willingness to continue negotiations at Commenor does you credit...but it is past time you returned to Denevar. I know, I know, in your last holomail you were on the verge of a breakthrough...but you have been on that verge for four months now. I believe it is safe to conclude Moff Felswoop-Lars has no intention of lending out any of her fleets.

And with this conference at Imperial Center, I need you and your brothers in Aurelian. Yes, brothers. Bryn is coming home, and I know you will want to be present to greet him.

As quickly as possible, Protector-Captain.

Greetings, your Moffness.

I am a sophont of business who has recently come into possession of an object I believe you might find of interest. A sophont as worldly as your Moffness has surely heard of the jungle tribes of Felucia, or more specifically their weapons.

The beasts of that world have a very unique crystalline lattice in their bone structure, you see, it is very conductive to certain energy fields, and when those energies are channeled through them...

It's a weapon made from giant fangs that can block blaster fire and lightsaber blades and it will decapitate a bantha with one swing, do I really need to explain why I think your Moffshop might be interested in purchasing it?

If I am correct, please come in person to the following coordinates in the Coruscant Undercity, with only a reasonable number of bodyguards. As your Moffness will doubtless be attending the Emperor Beloved By All's conference, I do not believe this to be an unreasonable request.

I would rather sell this piece to someone who will appreciate it, but if you find these terms unagreeable, I will be most sorrowful and then sell it to someone who will give me many credits.

[Attached is a file with enough images and scanned data to confirm that the sender of the message at the very least has ready access to the described weapon]

Excerpt of Explorator Guild Rules and Guidelines

Regarding New Discoveries
Throughout the history of exploration, those who have found new things, be it a system, a species, or a hyperlane, have always had the right to name them as they saw fit. The Galaxy's Hydian Way, for example, was named after its own discoverers treasured friend, Banu Hydia. Though scout services such as those belonging to the Empire and the Second Republic are required by regulation to name discoveries in some arcane logistical code, the Explorator Guild would never wish to remove this long treasured right. As such, the Guild has a heavily-enforced First-Come First-Name policy on all new discoveries, with joint discoveries requiring a unanimous agreement within one standard week of the expedition's report. Expeditions which cannot agree on a name for their discovery will be fined per person in dissent.

Names must be shorter than three standard display lines, to prevent critical navcomputer failure in some older models during route lookup.

Regarding First Contact
The Explorator Guild holds each and every one of you to very high standards regarding hypothetical first contact with a previously undiscovered settlement of sophonts. The following are the expected precautions to be taken, categorized by level of technology. For the purposes of these guidelines, an autopilot system of comparable talent to a pilot-specialized Class-5 droid is considered equivalent to a pilot-capable droid.

Tier 0 sophonts (no technology, limited to simple weapons): Do not kill sophonts unless unduly threatened.
Tier 1 sophonts (primitive technology, metalworking and slugthrowers of limited capacity): Do not kill sophonts unless unduly threatened. Keep at least one crewmember or pilot-capable droid in vessel at all times.
Tier 2 sophonts (electricity, slugthrowers, high-yield explosives): Avoid political disputes. Avoid allowing Guild technology to fall into sophont hands unless necessary. Keep at least one crewmember or pilot-capable droid in vessel at all times.
Tier 3 sophonts (space travel): Avoid political disputes. Avoid landing in areas with significant sophont presence. Avoid allowing Guild technology to fall into sophont hands unless absolutely necessary. Keep at least one crewmember or pilot-capable droid in vessel at all times.
Tier 4 sophonts (parity with Guild technology): Avoid physical contact. Avoid allowing Guild navigation data to fall into sophont hands. Report back to Guild holdings immediately for debriefing and discovery rewards.
Tier 5 sophonts (superior to Galactic baseline) OR BYSS: Avoid all contact. Avoid detection. Do not allow Guild navigation data to fall into sophont hands, even if doing so would require destroying it. Report back to Guild holdings immediately for debriefing and discovery rewards.

Edenites - Does Not Apply to Exterior Exploration
As you all know, the remnants of Eden's Empire are littered throughout the Deep Core. For the most part, their military capabilities were wiped out in the Great Galactic War, but some remain hostile to those from outside the Deep Core. Additionally, though they may not realize it, it is possible that Edenites host a number of biological diseases remaining from their Cleansing projects. As such, stricter contact guidelines apply to contact with Edenites than other such first contact scenarios. Under no circumstances are Guild members to contact newly discovered Edenites without using HazMat suits. If contact is to be made, it should be done through a human crewmember, or, failing that, through a droid. Nonhuman crewmembers are not to come into contact with Edenites until both their hostility is assessed and they are found to be clear of biological contaminants. Cooperation with non-hostile Edenites, if discovered, is allowed. No navigational data is to be given to Edenites. No technology superior to what the Edenites have in their possession is to be given to Edenites.

Artifacts
Artifacts, treasure, lost technology, etc. is to be divided equitably between the discoverer and the Guild, barring bioweapons. Bioweapons will be taken by the Guild in full for destruction, and compensation given to the discoverer. If a discoverer wishes to keep more than their share, for either sentimental reasons or to resell elsewhere, they may give up a portion of their discovery reward to increase it.

Private
Moff Murali, your family's reputation for protecting the throne from rogue elements reaches even the fringes of the Core. While my organization holds itself distant from Imperial proceedings, chaos would benefit me about as much as it would you. We will be on guard prevent anything untoward from occurring within our ranks.

The Supreme Commander - Turn Two
Mod Report
Down Falls the Supreme Commander

Contessa Kiandra Rhysode

---
While most of the other Moffs were toasting to the Supreme Commander's good health while plotting how best to act while his corpse was still cold, the Rhysode Family of Aldraig IV would choose to deal with the Supreme Commander in a far more flattering matter. Taking note of the Supreme Commander's unfortunate state, Moff Rhysode would offer to the Supreme Commander his young and gorgeous sister as a bride, pointing out that a handsome young bride would do him a world of good and give him an opportunity to have more children to replace those that he had lost in decades gone by. Naturally, the Supreme Commander would accept such a fine offer and he would wed Contessa Kiandra Rhysode not long after in a whirlwind ceremony, having reportedly been quite taken with the young woman, and then would die rather unceremoniously.

According to some, the Supreme Commander would be murdered by his vixen of a wife, for others it would be obvious that the strain of consummating the marriage had caused his heart to give out, while an even smaller group would make wild claims about the Republic hacking his holofeed and shocking him to death with an unending stream of inter-species pornography. Whatever the case, the death of the Supreme Commander would be seized upon most quickly by the Rhysode Family who claimed that the Contessa bore the Supreme Commander's child, his last gift to the Empire before death, and would seize the SSD Executor and the Supreme Commander's holdings to back up that claim. Naturally in the days that follow, for it has only been but a few, more moves shall be made in a similar vein but it is clear so far that war is inevitable with offers of mediation from everyone from the Emperor to the Moff of Rendili being rejected outright by most Moffs who have little interest in such talks.

Summary

Supreme Commander kicks it after marrying his new young bride.

Moff of Aldraig seizes Brentaal and Chandrila as well as the SSD Executor and claims the late-Supreme Commander's unborn child is the rightful successor.

Shit is about to hit the fan.

With the current turmoil, I wish to formally request my granddaughter and her retinue be given sanctuary in your household until travel from your Sector to mine becomes less hazardous.

I'll owe you, Lady Felswoop-Lars. And I pay my debts.

Ulrich Golgotha's response to this event is a simple one.

He begins to bang his head against a wall.

From: Leyane Paramexor, Moff of Aurelian Sector
To: Moffs of Incarnadine and Aquamarine Sectors (Boreialis, Ord Mirit, Pantolomin, Vakkar, Palanhi, Noquivzor) @Sidheach His Imperial Majesty Marcus Pallopides @Maugan Ra

I wish I could say this was entirely unexpected...

Your Majesty, my colleagues of Incarnadine and Aquamarine, these are the facts as I see them.

With the secondment of Samael and Zabaniya Fleets from Kuat, our Sectors are defended by eight fleets, and of course His Majesty's own Guard contingent. More than enough forces to turn back an attack from the Sith of Bilibringi...if those forces remain in the Periphery, and are not whored away in the strife between that collection of Jawas playing at Moffdom in the South. And if they are indeed eight fleets, not four, two, and two.

To that end, I propose the naming of a Marshal of the Periphery, to command our joint forces for the duration of this crisis. I do not demand this office for myself, I will gladly pledge every ship I have to one of my fellow Periphery Moffs...on the condition that whichever of us is named Marshal, they pledge in trust to relinquish the office as soon as the crisis is past, and that they pledge that none of our Sector Fleets will be committed to wars outside the Periphery save that His Majesty requests it, or at the order of a properly chosen, competent Supreme Command of the Empire.

To: The Central Committee of Moffs

I wish to extend both my congratulations and condolences to Countess Rhysode. Condolences, on the sudden loss of a husband, and congratulations, on her impending childbirth.

I do, however, question her brother's claim that this unborn child is Lord Brentioch's rightful successor.

You see, Moff Rhysode, unlike the Moffship of Albraig, the office of Supreme Commander carries enormous responsibilities and great power. The power to command the armies and fleets of the Empire. Something that is slightly beyond the capabilities of an unborn child.
