Just remember Detroit was mostly heavy industry, they didn't build the complex fiddly bits like the magnetic suspension arrays for plasma weapons or Robot AI's.

You want vehicles or other heavy machinery and your in the clear, but robots and power armor and the like are a bit more complicated.
Well I'm sure there are a few places like that just need to search for them and Pre-War government always had all kinds of military bases and research bases in nearly every important city all it will take is finding/getting inside them successfully.

@ninjafish, would you allow us to create and play as a Synth / Robot character?

Synths don't exist yet.

its literally the day after the bombs dropped.

Robot characters are a possibility later (if all your human characters die), but not right now.

oh definitely, they aren't common though, Houston was the "SCIENCE! right out of the gate" option.

In Detroit you must work for your SCIENCE!

indeed we may not be able to mass produce robots but we still can though, maybe not the best most sophisticated machines, but we can make do with what we have, there are many spare parts, simply lying around which combined with our heavy industry will be of immense value to us.

or better yet simply the skilled workforce to hand make robots with the support of our heavy machinery, we will likely get robots, just not mass produced. and that's all we will need.

[X] Houston, Texas: Houston has always been a city of commerce… that might not be so important anymore, but with a space center, The Joint Reserve Base, and access to what used to be second busiest port in the USA, there's plenty of interesting things to salvage

Alright, since's it still new years and people have other shit to do besides participate on internet forums, combined with a recent influx of votes for places other than Detroit, I've decided i'll keep it open till tomorrow morning instead.

Just want to make sure I thoroughly grasped the opinions of the board.

We're likely still going to Detroit though, it got a shitton of early support.

[X] Detroit, Michigan: The Automotive Capital of the World! Detroit has more cars than anyone can ever know what to do with, and the facilities to make them! It also has quite a few architectural wonders… but who has time for art these days?

Fresh setting is always nice. Does any know if tanks are a thing?

Unnamed tank

That is really good looking tank. Just need to add jetpack to deal with uneven terrain. And more guns, for everything else.

I suppose using firepower to clear path is a imaginative idea. But i believe some obstacle can be of use to us, except the green muscle men.

Alright, I haven't been able to sleep.

Locking it here.

Detroit wins.

I'm gonna go to sleep now, and when I wakeup, I will start writing the next part of Char-gen

Technically wild wasteland is a thing no matter where you go.

the wierd shit is just super fucking prominent in the Everglades.

But Don't worry, The Dunwhich Borers Great Lakes Regional HQ is sure to supply all your Drilling needs, its only 20 miles away too.

Well shit though I guess we were going to be dealing with cults in any location since some weird societies tend to form in Wasteland.
