now that I'm not buzzing. a cooler head prevails.

known facts (in game)
about the monster:
something is in here with us.
it damaged a set of power armor.
it killed multiple people.
it destroyed several bots.
all damage appears to be in melee.

about the building:
there's a wmd in the building, probably a teleporter.
there are other labs.
they probably haven been looted and contain stuff we can use.

about the rest of the city:
there is a crater somewhere.
there was a base in the city.
there is a gang somewhere (fairly) nearby.
there is a group of ghouls around.

the Plan:
put on power armor and leave.
find group of gribblies. ie gang, ghouls, mad bots, ect.
lead them back to the building in a running battle.
use attrition to our advantage. either monster dies and weakens gribblies, or gribblies die and weaken monster. may aquire better gear while doing this.

it's not the best plan but it's better than put on armor and "GROG SMASH!!!" though a sledge or power sledge might help.

Yes but why do that when we can Moon Logic™ our way through?

Also we're trying to not fight this thing

we're putting on the armor. i'm pretty sure not fighting it is wishful thinking, if it sees us it will hate us. so i'm thinking
exit
find cats paws
come back

PROFIT!

Yes, but befriending Beastie == MOAR PROFIT!

And as good American capitalists we should try and get moar profit for FREEDOM and SCIENCE! The only people who don't want moar profit are Red Chinese Communists. *Loads and Aims Mirv Big Boy*

Suiting up, and Meeting The Monster.
AN: Hey guess what, update.
I actually debated with myself over how to do this one, but in the end after a few scrapped attempts I decided to keep the combat updates relatively short.
So read, vote, discuss, all that good stuff.

No more messing around, you are certain that there is something in the building with you, something able and willing to rip men and even combat robots, to pieces.

You are getting in the suit of power armor.

A familiar sequence of button press's and the turn of a handle makes the armor open up from the back, and you step inside. The armor closes back up again with a series of clicks and clanks, and the occasional electronic hum as servo-mechanisms and computational systems come to life.

Honestly being in the tight cramped space of the armor… you feel like you've, now ain't that fucked up? Right at home only when strapped into a walking death machine.

But it feels good all the same.

Taking a few steps to confirm the functionality of all the suits basic systems, you look around the room once more. Alessandra actually looks a bit impressed… that was a pretty standard reaction to power armor especially if you had never seen it in action before.

Besides that, Alessandra is also glowing, literally, there is corona of light outlining her form… must be those advanced targeting systems mentioned in the log…

But then what's up with that glow in the ceiling…

Oh.

A high shrieking twisted roar, like metal stressed to hard and to fast, and fingers nails on a chalkboard, was all the warning you got before… something, smashed through the ceiling, sending Alessandra rushing to opposite end of the room to avoid the falling debris.

Leaving you free to take a look at the new arrival.

Just from looking at it, it's pretty clear that this was the monster Larry had talked about.

Its height was the first thing you noticed, it easily matched you in the power armor… and it didn't exactly have a straight backed posture, so it was actually taller than the suit.

It's body, from head to toe was covered in silvery reflective plating, barring the joints where a faint blue glow was the only hint of soft flesh. The creature's fingers ended in knife like claws several inches long, while the creature's toes ended in what might as well have been sharpened meat-hooks with four toes on the front of the foot, and a smaller claw extending out the base of the heel. Judging by the swell of the hips, and slight protrusion of the chest, you guessed it was female… but it was hard to tell with weird biological monstrosities. From the base of her spine a long tail, most akin to a lizard's or some other reptiles sprouted, a row of small spikes ran down its length, culminating in a massive, almost fan shaped blade at the end.

Your observation is interrupted when it turns toward you and lets out another shriek, before lunging at you. You feel an impact around your torso… and now your moving… the fucking thing shoulder tackled you!

It's around that time when you hit the wall behind you… and keep going straight through it.

Your on your back covered in dust and rubble, and the monster is standing over you...
You should do something.

AN: Originally this was gonna be a lot longer (which is why it was taking so long), But a good portion of that was a overly large description of the monster so that part got scrapped for the most part, and since I'm giving you guys a lot of control over your next actions, I need it to be shorter. so I can get them out faster from now on.

[X] Go for close combat!

The scales will probably reflect our laser and our armor has been optimized for more strength so this is probably the best choice

[x] It seems like the creature was nearby, but only attacked after you got into the armor. So, perhaps putting on the armor marked you as an enemy in its eyes? Or it considered the armor itself an enemy?
If so, then it might be possible to trick it; get the creature off and fight for a bit in close quarters, then see about making a show of the armor "dying"; collapsing after a hit, shutting down all systems, and so on. Then, get out and maybe make a bit more of a show of kicking the armor a few times and then removing the helmet, or taking off an arm or leg; whatever can be done on short notice with whatever's at hand.
Make sure to bring Alessa in on the plan, maybe get her opinion on likelihood of success and execution; she's the biology whiz after all.

The softly glowing blue flesh sounds like as much of a video game boss' glowing weak spot thing. So my thought is that if Alex is confident enough in his own shooting to hit the joints to do that and as it's distracted/in pain run. If he doesn't feel that confident in his shooting abilities either try to grapple it and hold it down while Alessandra shoots it or throw it off and run like hell. I'd much rather try to escape this thing than kill it, but I'm not very confident in our ability to do so since it looks like the mutant is faster than we are and there'll be no way to hide from it

[X] Go for close combat!

years later to a deathclaw. "I used to be a monster like you....... then I took a power armor boot to the knee."

nah, its healing is way better than a regular humans as long as it has enough mass to eat.

it'll recover from most things within a few hours, broken bones and damaged organs take a couple of days, lost limbs would take a few weeks.

.... Then we must punch it in it's DNA! So it will heal wrong! MWAHAHA

Okay... the GM went and made a fair number of comments on how entering the PA was a bad idea, and how fighting was essentially a losing proposition... and yet people are still voting for the "keep fighting!" choice.
And for the less effective choice in that regard, to boot. Seriously; pulling a gun while your opponent is basically sitting on your chest and can easily disarm you (in this case simply by grabbing and crushing the gun, given we're dealing with a monster with super strength)? Not smart.

*sigh*

THIS IS NOT REGULAR FALLOUT! WE DO NOT RESPAWN, IF WE FIGHT WE WILL DIE!

I'm of two minds, because fighting this thing is likely to end poorly for us. But at the same time I don't think that the exit the armor vote is really great. It's one thing to turn off the armor and play dead. It's another to exit the armor and start kicking at it like that, it's quite the jump in logic. Honestly I'd prefer the other vote if it was just us playing dead by turning off all the systems, which would probably convince it the armor is dead just as well as getting out of the armor would, seeing as it sees via electricity.

The problem is; if we turn off the armor but stay inside, it could still see the MC's bio-electricity. Which might make it think that the armor isn't dead, yet.

Nah inside the frame of the armor there's a layer of EM shielding meant to protect the user from radiation, it hides your bio-electricity, the servoes are outside this. And that's what the creature sees.

Sweet, no need for convoluted plays.

Play dead and when it has left get out of the armor so that you don't trigger another attack and find some other way to get the armor out of the building

Basically the play dead plan except we wait until the monster is gone to get out of our safety suit and then try to find a different way to get our loot out

Edit: After word from on high I am no longer confident in this plan, so instead I will be adopting the time honored Jojo technique
[X] Kneecap the fucker, grab Alessandra and run for the weapons lab.
