Ah, but if it truly is time travel, then he really should get 'YES' energy out of it. So, unless time travel also costs 'YES' energy or the Entities are just faking it, it should still work.
It just might. The question is: how much energy is accessible to an observer outside of the timeloop. And how much it costs that observer to interact with the loop.
Don't mention the Cycle at all, if you really have to explain anything.
Thus my idea for explaining why fairies are here.

Thus my idea for explaining why fairies are here.

And I don't have any serious problems with that.

My post was mostly directed at those who want to speak of the cycle, or even mention it.

After all, <Mother> and <Father> wanted the Cycle to remain secret, and we have no reason to go against their wishes.
Especially since, as far as we know, both of them are still alive and keeping an eye on things.

Oh that's what you meant.

Sorry I confused your write in for the other one that had said the reason the faeries bonded with others was because of the cycle.

As long as we don't mention the cycle then it should be fine.

Still catching up on new posts, but some reasons I have the mine:

I want to put them on a time limit in part to keep them from gaming this system to ask optimal questions, or for Alexandria to shoehorn her agenda in, but in large part because we know in meta that Danny is missing, and the PRT is panicking trying to find him.

Remember how Miss Militia wanted to divert us to get permission? Sure, part of that was probably by the book....but my money says this is also a stalling tactic writ large and improvised to keep us from finding out about Danny long enough for the PRT to find and retrieve him. For A. keeping Titania calm, B. keeping Titania from being unwisely blackmailed, and C. get them more credit with Titania for future interactions.

I'd rather not give them that time. Simply because it will be far more amusing for us to find out sooner, and especially before they can fix things. Mind, the more of our time they waste trying to hide this, the more pissed Titania will be, buuuuuuuut Coil is not so secure that he will fend off and fool the entire Protectorate, possibly plus Cauldron.

Also, I am hoping Titania is helpful with these questions. They are a reward.

Compare Dennis. "How'd you kill the Simurgh." "Easily."

That is Titania answering questions and not being helpful.

If Dragon asked that question right now, I imagine Titania being significantly more informative. She wouldn't give away information about her power, Host, or the cycle, but would otherwise be forthright. This is what Dragon is asking for, so she will accommodate within reason.

These limits are so much about screwing them over as it is establishing boundaries. Our time and knowledge is valuable, and here is what we currently price it at. It's like a negotiation. We do what we want, and if they want to make is do something else, they need to A. make us want to do something new, or B. provide compensation.

Also, people value things they pay for more than things they get for free.

And last, if a question's answer is mostly 99% good, but 1% forbidden topic, I would hope Titania freely answers the 99% and just avoids the 1%, or explains she won't answer that.

I hope that comes across in the tone of the vote. But mostly I hope @Alivaril has fun with it.

How about working to stop eternal winter and that's why the fairies need the hosts' help to learn as payment for services rendered during the trigger event then? It would explain why she's pushing Panacea to use her powers in more interesting ways. Saving the world would tie in nicely with the Fairy religion I see popping up. Anything that provides more ammo to mess with Cauldron's mind is good in my opinion.

That's what the "spark" thing is about in my write-in. The spark of creativity humans have. Veiled in fairy talk, of course.

Even though I have significant less problems with your plan now that i realize you don't intend to say shit about the cycle

There's something I have to address Yog.

Tactical plans for this cycle, ie "what Eden was going to do" not the "why are they doing this?".

The first half of Interlude 29 from Eden's POV was something Contessa saw in a trigger vision when she got her powers. That's how she knew Eden was bad news.It also means she knows the Entities planned to integrate themselves into human society to keep any suspicion down. Like how Scion's the world greatest hero so literally no one not in the know suspects he's anything less than a living saint. So they could suspect what we're doing here is something similar to that. Trick the humans into thinking we're good so that they'll help us out then betray them when the cycle ends.

Which reminds me.Cauldron is paranoid with its fellow humans. They straight up lied to Legend about how bad the things they were doing really were because they didn't trust him and Legend knew about Cauldron and its purpose. How do you think they'd treat someone like Titania? Who in addition to being at a level of power only Scion can match and knowing the exact purpose of the "faries" is someone Contessa can't model at all. Someone none of Cauldron's Thinkers can model or predict.

And there's how working with us near completely invalidates all the terrible things Cauldron did to for the sake of beating the Entities. Which would not be an easy pill to swallow at all.

Also please keep in mind that even if Cauldron was willing to work with us, working with Cauldron runs into a very big problem.

The whole "we killed your mother and then mutilated her body so we could have a chance at killing your father" thing.

Something tells me QA won't take that bit of news well.at all

[x] Return. Inform Dragon that you're busy, having arrived seeking Efficiency's help, but that you're willing to answer precisely three questions in exchange for her own assistance along with Replicator.
-[x] If asked about your host or your exact power set, or anything that could threaten the cycle, inform Dragon that you will not be answering that question at this time, but allow her to choose another question in its stead.
-[x] If they continue to trespass on the boundaries you have politely set, tell them their question is impertinent and you will not be allowing them to ask another in its stead.
-[X] Finally, you will not be waiting endlessly for them to come up with questions. They have five minutes to ask their questions, or however long your patience lasts. You suggest they aim for the five minutes. Or come up with very interesting questions.

I didn't read it as Contessa reading Eden's mind. She might have seen what Eden remembered (some of it, I don't think she saw everything), but understanding the reasoning behind it? That I doubt. One has to remember that Contessa was a preteen girl from a (from all indications) pre-industrial society. She was unlikely to understand things she saw. Though yes, the "they'll suspect us of spinning" is a valid concern. But since they already hate us (most likely), it's not like it's going to make the situation worse, and it might help to win over hosts in general (those not in the know).

Just one objection: Legend didn't know Cauldron's real purpose (ie that Scion was secretly bad).

All true. But then again, possible alliance / peace with Cauldron was one of the very tangential possible benefits of telling the hosts our goals. Reorienting the cycle a bit towards making hosts purposefully look for solution to Entities' problems is the primary benefit.

You note that many of the humans using PHO seem to be assuming that you are a power-copier and even have the nerve to compare you to Harvest. As a weaker version of her! She's not even a real monarch!
Huh, I can't believe I just noticed this part but who is this Harvest exactly? Was it Glastig Uaine? But that can't be right, the previous Fairy Queen ''fae title'' was the Keeper of the Dead.

One thing I wanted to confirm here, I know its pretty slim chances and all, but is there any chance we could find a way to turn QA against her oaf of a dad? Zion is kind of a bad news and I don't think QA would approve of the potential wanton slaughter he's going to commit.

Then again, maybe she'd cheer him on because that's what normal kids would probably do when they see their dad having fun playing sport with someone's head as a ball. Shards are weirds that way.

Not unless we somehow make QA actually give a shit about humanity besides then being test subjects like say waking Taylor and letting some of Taylor's morality rub off her or merging with Taylor to get her human morality.

Remember QA finds mind control and killing people to be perfectly valid solutions to problems and finds it interesting that most humans have acersions to them.

Oh and Kephri not being able to really get anything unless it was through the lens of conflict? That was all QA.

QA just might cheer her father on if she learned what the humans did to her mom.

We might be better off convincing Scion to spare the humans. Maybe introduce the concept of trolling to satisfy his sadistic tendencies.

Just making sure you knew working with Cauldron doesn't have very good chances of happening.

Ridicilous winning vote. QA should canonically want to kill the shit out of everyone rather than 'share' info about the Cycle. Ugh.

Actually, QA should canonically want data, instead of killing everyone or saving everyone.

Of course, canon QA does not claim to be a Fairy Queen, didn't kill Ziz just because she's annoying, isn't a fully sapient, friendly and cheerful Shard that cares more about its host than it does about the conflict it is supposed to provoke.
Canonically, QA also isn't a Crack character.
Canonically, Worm is grimdark.
Canonically, things only get worse.

This is not canon.
Your argument is invalid.

Even if I agree that QA should not mention the Cycle.

[X]Answer all of Dragon's questions. You won't mention displacing Host, of course, but Dragon will probably be even more curious now.
-[X]If she asks, avoid answering any questions about your exact powerset. You doubt any host can harm Host, but it's best to be careful.
-[X] Ask for help with your computer and social Interactions! Your smiles aren't working.

It's a good thing that vote isn't winning then, isn't it? I can't check now due to visiting family, but I believe

Currently has the most votes. Unless the "share info on cycle" got somewhere in the realm of 10+ more since I last checked.

Also, uh... The original QA was kinda sub-sapient til brain surgery happened. Things are gonna be vastly different even without me not wanting to write grimderp. @Akasha summed it up pretty well.

I'll try to write an update today if I find the time, but I don't think it's happening. Christmas/spending time with family n all.

On that note: Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays, everyone!
